It’s so good, she’s practically shell-shocked with delight.
She popped the chocolate into her mouth, letting it lt smoothly, just like the advertisent said. But the next mont, she let out a retching sound, leaned over the bed, and threw it all up.
Gu Shaocheng felt his heart sink straight down in fright.
He had never been so jumpy before; a slightest mishap from her felt like the sky was falling. Chenxing wiped the corner of her mouth with the back of her hand: "So bitter."
"..."
"I think I can at most drink so plain porridge, without adding any other ingredients. My mouth can’t take those flavors, and maybe my stomach can’t either."
Gu Shaocheng imdiately dialed the internal line to ask the kitchen to prepare the plainest and thickest rice porridge.
The butler was so attentive, having already prepared the porridge, keeping it warm, and upon receiving the request through the line, had it instantly delivered in.
Gu Shaocheng personally held the bowl and spoon, infinitely pampering his darling as he fed her.
"Eat slowly, don’t throw up again."
His words carried a smile, his mood incredibly high.
Chenxing nodded repeatedly, eating very little, each mouthful chewed many tis, savoring the delicate taste.
"Is it too hot?"
"Not hot." Chenxing shook her head: "You eat too."
"I’m not hungry."
"How could you not be hungry, you haven’t eaten anything all day?" Chenxing waved her hand, particularly enjoying leaning against his chest, innocently and playfully saying: "You see, I don’t have much strength to feed you, so you better feed yourself obediently."
Yet her hand still held onto his hand as he brought the porridge to his own mouth: "You eat it."
Gu Shaocheng chuckled softly, his gaze deep, "Alright, I’ll eat."
And so, this bowl of porridge was consud completely amidst their tender, affectionate sharing.
After dinner, the couple lay naked on the bed wrapped in a blanket, he curled up beside her, holding her tightly in his arms, reminiscing the bits and pieces from the past few years in the flickering candlelight as Chenxing rested her head on his arm not wanting to sleep, even if they started talking from eight in the evening until three the next morning.
"...Haha, really? Little Zun Zun is that naughty?" Chenxing’s bursts of laughter ca from the bedroom late at night.
Gu Shaocheng sniffed the air carrying her feminine scent: "Absolutely, this little rascal is so mischievous, and Little Sheng Sheng too, the two are practically birds of a feather, I don’t even know where they co up with so many cunning ideas. Disciplining them, I don’t know how many brain cells I’ve burnt out."
He pulled out a recorder pen: "Let play you the sound of them calling ’Mommy’ and ’Daddy’ on the first day."
"Oh, yes please," Chenxing imdiately perked up her ears.
Then he found lots of albums and footage, Chenxing flipped through the booklet page by page, it seed as if the process of two little darlings growing up was being replayed before her eyes, but she still felt so regretful: "I didn’t get to personally witness their growth."
The sense of loss, no album or footage could ever compensate. As a mother, she buried her head into Gu Shaocheng’s chest: "Waaah, Shaocheng, you’re really blessed."
Witnessing your children grow up, participating in their daily lives.
Gu Shaocheng understood her regrets and frustrations well, kissing her cheek: "Who’s to bla for not waking up." Yet, he couldn’t bear her being too sad: "There’s still ti, from now on I’ll leave the children to you, this heavy burden I can’t carry, they still need their mother to look after them."
