Gu Shaocheng cleared his throat, Yan Fengchi cried out in alarm.
...
This really was a dreadful day filled with the grim foreboding of impending disaster.
Chenxing was initially planning to hang out with her cousin, but her calls went unanswered. At that mont, a text ssage appeared on her phone.
"Chenxing, I just found out that the car accident your parents were involved in years ago, was no accident. I’m at the Starbucks opposite Tianyu Square, waiting for you."
The sender of the text: Xia Jianqing.
Chenxing looked at the ssage, her hand trembling. Her heart lurched in her chest.
What did Jianqing’s ssage an? Could there be hidden circumstances behind her parents’ death? Was it intentional? Were they murdered?
Chenxing quickly dialed his number, but the call was ended. Unable to sit still any longer, she imdiately got ready to leave the house.
At the Xia Family ho, Xia Jianqing held a file he had unintentionally obtained, seemingly equally shocked. "Brother, where did this co from?"
"A friend from the police station found this while sorting through old docunts and gave it to . It relates to Chenxing’s parents, take it if you want. I have no use for it. If you don’t want it, burn it. I don’t wish to cause trouble with Gu Shaocheng now that he is so powerful."
"Brother, give it to , I won’t let anyone know you had it. Consider it as though you know nothing." Xia Jianqing took the file bag, his anger at its peak. He had only just returned ho a couple of days ago and had suffered greatly. His anger towards his half-brother who shared the sa mother but different father was uncontrollable. "I always knew he had ulterior motives towards Chenxing. How could I just sit by and let him deceive her? Additionally..."
He had finally obtained substantial evidence. This ti he could surely persuade Chenxing to leave that man. No matter how infatuated she was, she couldn’t be involved with the murderer of her parents!
Xia Jiankai watched his younger brother storm off, a strange smile crossing his lips. His brother had been missing for two months, and he thought he would never return. He had offended Gu Shaocheng, how could one possibly survive after that.
The unexpected revelation was that Gu Shaocheng was his brother. He had only found out about this connection quite recently! Although, their relationship didn’t seem to be on good terms. Why not further deteriorate it?
A malicious glint flickered in his eyes as he silently wheeled himself away towards his room.
================================================================================================
The Starbucks opposite Tianyu Square was fairly crowded.
Xia Jianqing had just sat down when Chenxing pushed through the door. She looked around, searching for him.
From Xia Jianqing’s perspective, it seed as though she was searching for him amidst the sea of people, warming his heart. "Chenxing, I’m here."
Even being locked away by that man for two months was worth it.
Chenxing finally spotted the man waving to her. She hastily crossed the room, her mind sowhat dizzy, stumbling against soone. Xia Jianqing quickly went over, helping her to a seat.
"Chenxing, do you want sothing to eat?"
"What did you an by the text you sent ?" She had no appetite.
...I just woke up, went to bed too late last night and missed the update ti, embarrassed.
