Ling Yin paused slightly and walked over to offer comfort: "Children are simple-minded and don’t think things through. Proper education will make them listen; hitting them only scars their hearts, making them feel wronged and unable to hear anything. Try a different approach. Fortunately, the kids are quite clever and nothing bad happened. Just calm down."
Hua Hua said: "Exactly, hitting kids is not right. They’re just looking for Sheng Sheng. Has anyone explained to what’s actually going on with Sheng Sheng? Everything was fine before I went on my honeymoon."
Nan Baihao sighed and then shot a glance at Wubai, whose small face turned stubbornly to the side, avoiding Dad’s gaze.
Huanhuan ca over to pull Nan Baihao, muttered a few words, and then took Wubai from Hua Hua’s hands, holding him affectionately on the sofa. After Nan Baihao explained the situation with Sheng Sheng, Hua Hua had already rolled up his sleeves in a frenzy: "What are you saying? Brother did such a thing? Sending Sheng Sheng away until he’s eighteen?"
His explosive temper!
Not to ntion the three kids wanting to find Sheng Sheng, he couldn’t even calm down himself.
Sheng Sheng and Zun Zun were practically raised single-handedly by him. During those two years when Chenxing hadn’t awakened, he treated the two children like his precious treasures, never minding the dirty work of changing diapers. And now Brother sent away what he cherished? How can he be so heartless?
Seeing Hua Hua’s reaction, Nan Baihao explained, "Big Brother had no choice, forced by circumstances. But Brother just beca the chairman of the Skull Society, and Sheng Sheng only changed environnts, still under Brother’s wings. Children need proper nurturing. I’ve even thought of throwing Wubai into a tough environnt for him to toughen up; boys need to go through trials to succeed. I don’t think it’s that heartless."
Hua Hua scoffed, "What’s wrong with boys? I’m a man myself and lived carefree without hardship; why impose such high expectations on the kids?"
"All like you?" Nan Baihao sharply retorted, biting his tongue afterward: "If Wubai ends up useless like you, I’d beat him to death!"
"Crazy!" Hua Hua cursed, tugging Ling Yin: "You tell , is kids’ happiness more important, or success?"
"Both are important," Ling Yin didn’t dare say he preferred success, intending to strictly educate Wenqing in the future.
"Don’t brush off. If you had to choose between success and happiness, which would you pick?"
Ling Yin deftly pecked him on the cheek: "They don’t necessarily conflict; happiness and success can coexist, Hua Hua."
Hua Hua scoffed: "Anyway, if it were up to , I’d choose happiness. My kids don’t have to be successful, but they must live happily like ."
Ling Yin didn’t agree internally, so he remained silent.
But luckily, their kids are still young, and it’s too early to dwell on education issues. Ling Yin secretly breathed a sigh of relief, thinking about slowly altering Hua Hua’s educational disparities with his own views.
Returning to the main topic, the discussion shifted back to the three kids. Nan Baihao wanted to bring them back to China, Hua Hua certainly didn’t object; after playing for a whole month, he’d had enough and decided to join them back.
The plane took off the next morning and landed in Vancouver hours later. Chenxing and Jingru personally ca to pick them up at the airport, each taking their children ho, with Zun Zun holding onto Hua Hua tightly, afraid of being beaten once they got ho.
