But he paused after only two steps, standing completely still, slightly hunched over. No one understood what he was doing, then they saw him slowly squat down on the ground, as if he was repressing sothing...

Chenxing wiped her mouth with her hand, only to find it covered in blood. Did he bite himself?
She winced in pain.
Watching him crouch with his back to her, she noticed his palms slowly clenching. Yan Fengchi rushed and squatted beside him, whispering sothing. He seed to shake his head, then stand up with Yan Fengchi’s help, paused for a mont, pushed Yan Fengchi away, and walked towards the helicopter at a steady pace.
Ignoring the pain in her mouth, Chenxing had a bad gut feeling. Biting her lip, her body reacting before her mind, she chased after him and caught him just before he set foot on the helicopter.
Then she saw this: His face was as pale as paper.
A surge of concern rose in her heart as she slipped into her professional nurse persona: "What’s wrong with you?"
Gu Shaocheng paused, his gaze landing on her face, surprise evident as he saw the concern in her eyes. In that instant, he was at a loss for words, his cold fury instantly diffused.
A single sentence could enrage soone to the point of spitting blood, and another could instantly uplift their mood. Only one person had this effect on him. Gu Shaocheng wondered if he were under so sort of spell. How could she so effortlessly affect his emotions?

Her lips were still cracked, opening and closing with each word she said. Her lips were stained red with blood, making her look even more alluring. It is said that n are bloodthirsty creatures who get excited at the sight of blood. He was no exception.
However, a low grumbling sound ca from his stomach.
Gu Shaocheng’s mood darkened before it could have a chance to lighten up, his face turned deep red in embarrassnt. He looked at her, mortified and angry.

He hastily left her behind, boarding the luxurious helicopter and slamming the bathroom door shut behind him.

The things she had always refused to think about were now invading her mind. She had thought about the possibility of Gu Shaocheng seeking her out, she had wrestled with her feelings towards her biological father and stepfather, and she had considered who to bla... But what benefit is there in an endless cycle of vengeance? She didn’t want her life to be occupied by hatred, she longed to break away from all of it and start anew, pursuing a aningful life.
She didn’t find her life here unbearable; as a nurse here she was needed. When she saw patients recover and heard their heartfelt thanks, she felt happy. She thought this was what life should be like—positive, simple, aningful.
But now, Gu Shaocheng was here, and she feared her calm, simple life was about to be shattered, and what would follow was chaos, along with all the things she had been trying to escape.
