A thousand a day, even though it still sounds outrageous, she could still afford it.

Gu Shaocheng laughed inwardly as he extended his hand and locked little fingers with her. Then, he gently pressed down with his thumb, "Pinky promise, seal the deal!"

"What do you want for dinner? I’ll have the kitchen prepare it for you."
"White rice, vegetables, and radish." Chenxing replied without missing a beat.
Gu Shaocheng chuckled, "Tonight, dinner is on . It’s free."
"Really?"
He nodded.
Chenxing then listed a series of food favorites: "I want barbecued food. Chicken wings, squid, corn, shrimp... "
"...don’t eat hard-to-digest stuff at night. I’ll take you out for those things you ntioned when I feel like it." He pondered for a mont, "Shrimps are fine, corn too, chicken wings as well but let’s change the style. Corn soup, a plate of shrimp seafood rice, but how about the chicken wings?"
Upon hearing this, Chenxing imdiately suggested, "I want coke chicken wings!"
"Alright, I’ll have the butler prepare it."
As Gu Shaocheng said this, he walked out to give instructions. He returned a mont later holding a nourishing soup in his hand and a ceramic spoon in another, "Have sothing warm for your stomach first."
They say a man who personally feeds a woman soup is the most endearing. I wonder if Chenxing feels the sa way right now?
She sat kneeling on the bed, her petite face still frowned in worry. She cared about her money, but even more so about her appearance. After struggling for a while, she couldn’t help but ask, "Am I really that ugly?"
"The uglier, the better. This way, no one else would covet you, and I can worry less." Gu Shaocheng looked playfully at her. She was quite cute when she pouted in annoyance, which made him feel an uncontrollable urge to kiss her.
Upon hearing this, Chenxing looked exasperated, yet she quietly retorted, "It’s not like I asked you to worry about !"
"Isn’t it enough that I have to worry about you?" He picked up a tissue from the table and gently wiped her mouth while sighing, "People don’t even worry this much about their daughters."
Not true, Chenxing argued quietly to herself: You are way older than , old man! You’re a vampire who’s taken advantage of and pocketed my money!

After she finished the soup from Gu Shaocheng’s hand, the dishes were brought to the bedside one after another and placed on the movable table. Gu Shaocheng intended for her to get out of bed to eat, but the little girl curled her legs on the edge of the bed and wolfed down her food with her chopsticks.
"Slow down, you need to have proper table manners." He reprimanded her softly!
Chenxing turned her face, puffing her cheeks full of food, "Aren’t you hungry? Let’s eat together?"
"I should really hire a tutor to teach you proper etiquette!" Gu Shaocheng chuckled, then stood up to leave, returning a mont later with a stack of folders in his hand.
He took off his shoes and laid down comfortably on the other side of the large bed. He put on his golden-frad glasses, looking like a distinguished intellectual. He was only wearing a beige knitted round neck sweater, holding a pen in his hand. When Chenxing looked his way, she was almost srized.
She held up what she thought was a very delicious coke chicken wing in one hand, using the other to hold it from underneath. She moved it in front of Gu Shaocheng, "Gu Shaocheng, you should try it."
