A sharp scream was replaced by his even more hearty laughter.
"Chenxing, you really... have ensnared ."
He joyfully silenced her lips, swallowing her whimpers. Their lovemaking lasted from the evening into the night, moving from the swimming pool to the bedroom’s large bed. It was occasionally intense, occasionally slow, like the sound of a lute: sotis the strings would pound like heavy rain, and at other tis, they would whisper softly.
When the clock struck half-past nine at night, Chenxing felt as if she had been completely remodeled, even her lips were terribly swollen. Opening her eyes, she saw Gu Shaocheng dressed in a navy blue casual suit, leaning against the bed post, holding a piece of tantalisingly sweet cake, which was her favorite flavor.
His voice was as soft as a soothing song.
"Hungry? Open your mouth and eat a little."
Chenxing groggily opened her eyes, her gaze a bit vacant. She was in a state of exhaustion, and it took her a while to fully wake up.
Even when groggy, her mind was clear. "Is this cake free or does it need to be paid for? Is it expensive?"
Having unknowingly paid for a delicious al at lunch after she had eaten her fill, Chenxing had beco incredibly sensitive to food. Gu Shaocheng could not help but laugh and sigh at her question, giving her a playful pinch on the nose, "You’re such a dampener. I should really just feed you porridge. And here you were claiming to like a little!"
Chenxing stuck out her tongue and smiled playfully. As she opened her mouth, the cake was automatically sent into her mouth. The sweet taste and the chocolate on the cake that lted as soon as it touched her tongue, gave her a genuine feeling of being in love.
"It’s delicious." Chenxing relished her food, resting her head on his lap, enjoying the taste of being pampered. "Gu Shaocheng, when is your birthday?"
"What for?"
"Oh, nothing. Just asking."
He continued to feed her the cake with the delicate spoon, sotis taking a taste himself. The sweetness made him frown. It wasn’t to his taste.
"Co on, tell . It’s not like it’s a secret." She playfully wrapped her arms around his waist. Seeing that he was unwilling to answer, she changed her question: "Then, would you celebrate my birthday like you did last night?"
He paused thoughtfully, "Celebrate what?"
"Celebrate my birthday, of course." Wasn’t that obvious?
"Celebrating you being a year older?"
Tears filled her eyes, her heartfelt joy and happiness instantly dissipated.
Chenxing quickly turned around, looking annoyed. Her eyes were full of bla. She was like a little hedgehog. Gu Shaocheng was attempting to feed her more cake, but she kept her mouth shut.
He pretended not to understand: "What’s wrong? Don’t you like it?"
Chenxing struggled a bit, looking away: "I don’t like it. It’s depressing."
How frustrating. Couldn’t he say sothing nice? He loved to point out her flaws, and now he even dared to say that she was aging on her birthdays. You’re the old one, not ! You’re way older than ! Any man who calls a woman old is annoying....
Gu Shaocheng’s fingers naturally combed through her ssy hair as he chuckled, "Do you even know when your birthday is?"
"I’m not an idiot. How could I not know?"
You’re indeed an idiot, Gu Shaocheng thought to himself.
"Once the rash on your face clears up, I’ll send soone to take you to the district public security bureau to change your na and ID, and correct your birth date while we’re at it," he said, lightly pinching Chenxing’s cheek and teased: "Isn’t it strange that you don’t even know your own birthday?"
