"Shaocheng, you’re really good."
"If I were good, then soone wouldn’t have run away from ho, nearly wearing out through worry." He replied lightly.
Chenxing hung her head even lower, as if she had done sothing wrong.
Walking slowly down the long corridor, amidst the lights reflecting off the lake, she remained silent. Her heart felt warm, an intimate dynamic. This gentleness of his seed to have ward her entire universe.
In her fuzzy comprehension, she felt such satisfaction, such enjoynt.
She even took ti for deep self-reflection. Hmm, she had to do better in the future to give him peace of mind.
.................................
On the second floor of the Sui Shang Pavilion, they were the only guests. Sitting in their seats, they had a full 360-degree panoramic view. The vision was exceptionally vast.
Before them was a table full of Luban cuisine.
Chenxing held her chopsticks, temporarily unsure of where to start.
In this twilight, she was awestruck. "So many dishes."
There were dishes to make anyone salivate. Osmanthus roast duck, delicious cheesy baked mushrooms, her favorite roll of garlic mashed at and vegetables, crispy and tender banana seafood rolls, and Begonia cakes. The sweet favorites all suited her taste.
Gu Shaocheng watched the girl besides him who had beco extraordinarily happy. Underneath his eyes, there traversed a streak of happiness, full of the flavor of enormous indulgence.
"I will give you a drink. I don’t like girls drinking alcohol."
Then he gestured to the waiter, had a glass of papaya juice served to her and a bottle of red wine opened for himself. Under the ambiguous warm lights of the pavilion, his lips curled into a smile. Watching her eating, his gaze beca increasingly gentle.
This atmosphere, even though it wasn’t a candlelight dinner, it was better than a candlelight dinner.
It created an extraordinary disposition in their hearts.
"Cheers."
Chenxing, holding her fruit juice, clinked her cup with Gu Shaocheng’s, beaming a broad, happy smile.
Gu Shaocheng smiled. "Cheers."
Then, in one gulp, he drained the drink, leaving an empty glass.
Watching him, Chenxing muttered, "Drinking so fast, doesn’t it hurt your stomach?"
"A little red wine is beneficial for the body," was his muted reply. But Chenxing didn’t understand his response and added, worrying about his health, "You should drink slowly and eat more food."
"I’m used to it."
For a man like him, he often had to engage in social events. Now, during the tis when he doesn’t have to maintain social interaction, he won’t attend anyone’s dinner party. However, during the earlier days when he had to establish his foothold in the Gu family, to foster relationships, he and Wuqing would often drink till their stomachs bled. And it wasn’t red wine they drank, it was Baijiu, poured by the bottle into their stomachs.
Chenxing naturally couldn’t imagine the hardships he had faced in establishing his power. She only knew him as the man who ruled from above. Regardless, she disapproved of his drinking habits, and attentively gave him more food, asking him to eat more.
Feeling her caring gesture, Gu Shaocheng’s heart ward.
Looking at her, he beca more enchanted.
There is a saying that love is like wine, you drink, you get drunk. After just one drink, he felt he was starting to get tipsy.
People indeed were strange creatures. When he thought of her during the dayti, he gritted his teeth in anger, annoyed that she didn’t appreciate his kindness. In the morning, he was even angry to the point of wanting to strangle her, so no one could bother him. But at this mont, he felt that no matter how enchanting the surroundings were, nothing could be more beautiful than the girl in front of him, whose skin was slightly tanned from the sun.
