In an instant, everyone headed towards the direction of the screams.
Even while they walked, they tried to be as quiet as possible to accurately judge where the sound was coming from.
They didn’t know if that sound was related to their rescue mission, but they harbored imnse hope in their hearts.
They hoped that it was the people they were looking for.
But they also had a great worry. The screaming was so heart-wrenching, so dreadful, had sothing inhuman happened?
There was more than one person plagued with these questions.
The source of the sound seed to get closer, but the mountain road was challenging. Even the fastest among them took a full twenty minutes to reach it.
Three n stood next to the source of the sound, shouting, "Who’s there? Where are you?"
The sound seed to be coming from underground. Looking around, they couldn’t see anyone, yet so noticed traces of broken tree branches.
"I’m here, I’m here." Chenxing finally heard soone speaking above her, tears of excitent rolling down her face.
"I am in... I think it’s a hole. Save us, please save us, help..."
Chenxing roared excitedly in her hoarse voice, a great hope ignited in her heart.
"Miss Chenxing?"
"Yes, it’s , it’s . Please save us. Shaocheng is injured. Hurry and pull us up." Tears flowed, at last, soone had found her and Shaocheng.
She pecked Shaocheng’s face forcefully, "Shaocheng, we’re saved! We’re saved!"
The voice ca through the wireless earpiece: "They’ve been found, it’s Miss Chenxing and Mr. Gu, we’ve found them."
One man, whilst clearing away the twigs and branches, was reporting this through the earpiece.
Bits of dirt and debris fell on them, Chenxing gasped, a beam of light shone through the darkness, it was a beacon of hope.
Finally, they could see the light again.
"Mr. Gu!" A man looking at Gu Shaocheng’s back exclaid joyously, "Mr. Gu, how are you?"
"He’s unconscious, injured. Quickly pull us up." A choked voice echoed from the hole below.
The hearts of those above seemingly throbbed in response. Another man jumped down, standing next to the iron gate to support Gu Shaocheng. He intended to heave him onto his back, but—
Gu Shaocheng was holding onto Chenxing tightly, and the man didn’t have enough strength to carry both of them together.
"Let Mr. Gu loosen his grip first," he suggested.
Chenxing urgently responded, "It’s no use, Shaocheng won’t let go. I’ve tried many tis to separate from him but failed. Please send two more people to help pull us up."
"Big Brother!" At this ti, Nan Baihao had also arrived. He was standing at the top of the hole and yelled for Gu Shaocheng. But he got no response, "How is Big Brother?"
