She was surrounded by several doctors and nurses. A nurse said, "Doctor, it seems like she’s waking up."
The doctor lifted her eyelids and shone a dical flashlight into her eyes, causing Chenxing to groan and shut her eyes tightly. She buried her head into Gu Shaocheng’s chest, taking a while to adjust before opening her eyes again. She asked in a daze, "Where am I... is...is this the operation room?"
The environnt was familiar to her.
However, she used to be a nurse battling on the frontlines of the operation room, but now she was the one lying on the operation table as a patient. "Ugh... it hurts..." she said.
"Where does it hurt?" asked the doctor.
Chenxing didn’t know, "Everywhere... everywhere hurts, how is...how is Shaocheng?"
She shrieked halfway through her sentence when she realized that she was still being held by him in the sa position, unchanged from before she fell asleep. At that mont, she was under Gu Shaocheng, slightly tilted to the side, as if they were sleeping together, him holding her, embraced in sleep.
With a racing heart, she cried urgently, "Doctor, doctor, how is Shaocheng?"
"He mustn’t be hard. You have to save him, he cannot be hurt, cannot be hurt..."
"Calm down, we’re doing our best to save him. We’re going to sedate you, continue sleeping. If you move around, it will influence the operation," a nurse told her.
Chenxing refused, "No, I won’t. I’ll stay quiet. Don’t sedate , I don’t want to sleep, I want to stay awake, I want to wait until he’s safe before I sleep."
She had just had a dream, where she woke up to find Gu Shaocheng... already gone. She didn’t want to sleep any longer, in case sothing happened to Shaocheng while she slept unaware.
"I’ll stay quiet and not move. I was a nurse, I know what kind of environnt surgeons need. Please, don’t sedate . Let accompany him during the operation. Let stay with him, watch over him, please, doctor, can I?"
The nurse glanced at the doctor who nodded, then he returned to the operation.
At this mont, he was carrying out ergency surgery on Gu Shaocheng to remove the blood from his skull, no mistakes could be afforded.
Chenxing didn’t move, not at all, afraid that she might disturb the doctors. Even when they asked where she hurt, she would only shake her head, gritting her teeth as tears silently stread down her face.
She gazed at him, at his tightly closed eyes. His eyelashes were really dense, more than her own. His face was clean-shaven, a small mole on his left cheek.
Shaocheng, you’ll be fine, right?
Her lips gently touched his pale ones. Usually, whenever she did this, he would passionately kiss her back, but now he was unconscious, completely unresponsive. Why did this have to happen? They were happily opening their hearts to each other, enjoying a carefree drive, why did danger suddenly strike? How could those people be so wicked? Weren’t they afraid of divine punishnt for their actions?
At that mont, a nurse suddenly exclaid: "Doctor Feng, quick, look. The patient’s heartbeat is showing signs of failure."
The attending physician glanced at the electrocardiogram and muttered, "Damn it!"
Imdiately, the operation room was plunged into chaos with doctors and nurses bustling around.
