"High above, I reign supre.
The voice of Gu Shaocheng is like salvation as well as a nightmare. Regardless of which, it leaves a deep impression in people’s hearts. Chenxing had been yearning for him for many days, and now when she actually hears him, her heart is filled with mixed emotions.
"Can you let out now?" She didn’t answer him, her whole being seed lifeless. Yet those eyes, clear and bright, were filled with a longing to leave this place.
"You have nine days of punishnt left, you want to stay?" Gu Shaocheng was not satisfied with her response. His voice gradually turned cold. He absently stroked through her hair, lifting it to his nose and frowning at the sll. An unconscious thought broke through: she needs to bathe.
Chenxing shivered instinctively, "I won’t run away anymore, I promise. Please, don’t keep locked up here anymore."
"Are you sure that you will not escape again?"
She nodded urgently, fearing he might leave if she took a second longer.
Gu Shaocheng’s fingertips lightly traced over Chenxing’s cheek. After a long mont, he finally pardoned her, "Rember your words today. If it happens again, it will be the sa punishnt - equal to the number of days you’ve stayed with ."
Her heart shrank at his words.
Reaching out, Gu Shaocheng scooped her into his arms, holding her close. Chenxing leaned her head submissively against his chest, seeming to please him as his tone was no longer so cold: "The remaining nine days, no more punishnt."
When he said he released her, he truly did give her freedom.
He held her all the way back to their bedroom, lowering her into a bathtub filled with warm water.
She was filthier than he had expected, but there was no disgust in him. He treated her like a precious piece of art while Chenxing felt only exhaustion.
The tension of the past days snapped, and she began to feel drowsy. She was too exhausted to protest or reject him any longer, laying there weakly like a delicate porcelain doll.
For the first day of her freedom, she spent most of it in bed. In his arms, she had truly grown afraid of such punishnt, finding it far more torturous than a direct beating and never wishing to experience it a second ti.
So for the entire day, she was incredibly docile in his arms, yet also incredibly fragile; her heart was filled with fear.
"Open your mouth." Gu Shaocheng held a bowl of millet porridge, spooning a bite and bringing it to her lips. Seeing her obedience seed to please him greatly, and he started to smile. He fed her easy-to-digest food one spoonful at a ti, his good mood prompting him to play soothing music for her.
However, his good mood didn’t last long. He had only left for a brief mont, and when he returned, Chenxing had developed a fever. In her sleep, her temperature had risen to 39.5 degrees Celsius!
And the fever wouldn’t go down!
The family doctor couldn’t pinpoint any concrete reasons behind the fever. After all, Chenxing had no cold or injuries, there was no reason for her to have such a high fever.
Sitting in his throne-like chair, Gu Shaocheng frowned as he pondered. After careful consideration, he realized the cause: the fever was not due to physical issues but psychological.
A gentle and feeble resistance!
She could not resist his power, but that did not an she had really surrendered inside.
Furious, Gu Shaocheng lashed out at the family doctor and phoned for three of the best doctors to care for her round the clock, without leaving her room.
Chenxing was not exactly resisting, but sedated for most of the ti. She was half asleep and half awake, obediently swallowing the food and dicine Gu Shaocheng feed her, but she was constantly moaning her discomfort.
