"Aren’t you drinking? I bought this red wine especially for tonight."
He shook his head: "No."
Alright then, she busily served two bowls of rice. During the al, she excitedly told him about getting into the top ten of the singing competition. "I’ve sent you tickets. Will you be part of my cheer squad?"
A gleam flashed across his eyes: "I’ll definitely perform better with you there. So many people are supporting now. I feel as if I, this wild horse, have finally found my Bole."
"Are you thinking of becoming a pop star upon advancing in the competition?" he asked, raising an eyebrow, eating the food she’d made in a jolly mood.
Chenxing pursed her lips: "I haven’t thought that far. I just suddenly realized my potential. I feel much more confident after these few rounds."
"So you want to be a pop star?"
Chenxing shook her head: "I’ve heard the entertainnt industry is quite ssy. I just enjoy singing for the sake of it, and it would be great if I can win a big prize and gloat about it. Plus, there’s prize money to be won."
Gu Shaocheng was greatly pleased that she didn’t want to be a pop star, "If I can find so ti, I’ll be there in person."
Seeing that she was no longer lost in the sorrow like the last ti they t, a tender smile played around his lips, "The food tonight was perfect. It’s just as good as what a top-tier chef would make." In no ti, his bowl was empty, "Get another bowl."
Longing for her had significantly improved his appetite.
Luckily, Chenxing had cooked enough for three people. Seeing him eat so much was a pleasant surprise for her. However, she didn’t serve any fruit after the al, afraid that overeating might upset his stomach.
Therefore, she took him by the hand and insisted on walking downstairs to aid digestion.
In the elevator, Gu Shaocheng, seemingly in the mood, asked her, "If you were to describe with one thing, what would you choose?"
"Air."
"Hmm?"
"I can’t live without air. I feel your presence in my world just like air!" Even in my heart, you are everywhere.
Gu Shaocheng was silent for a while before reaching out and taking her arm with a smile. When the elevator door opened, he threw an arm around her shoulder and led her out. Chenxing looked up at him, "What about ? How would you describe ?"
"Annoying pig."
Without a mont’s hesitation, he replied with a smirk.
Chenxing pouted, humphing. Under the streetlights, their shadows stretched out long. Annoyed, she bit down hard on his arm. The pain made him hiss.
"Would you rather be a pup?"
He was mad. Chenxing quickly wriggled free of his grasp, sticking her tongue out at him before bolting away. Gu Shaocheng tried to catch her. Chenxing jumped and shrieked, the spring breeze gently teasing her hair. Chenxing’s heart filled with sweet happiness. Under the yellow streetlights, Gu Shaocheng pulled her close and the two strolled arm-in-arm around the upscale neighborhood.
On their way back, she claid fatigue, wanting to rest on his shoulder, actually aiming for a piggyback ride.
Gu Shaocheng pointed at a girl on the roadside, whining to be carried by her father. He laughed as he pinched Chenxing’s nose, "You’re just as big as her, including your intellect."
Chenxing rested lightly on his shoulder, hair draped down. She replied playfully, "Well, then Daddy should be carrying ho!"
"Daddy, I’m scared to sleep alone at night. Can you stay with ?"
Gu Shaocheng burst out laughing, giving her buttocks a couple of playful slaps. Chenxing whimpered in pain but the two of them climbed upstairs together. Gu Shaocheng put her down. She wrapped her arms around him from behind, listening as he dialed the code to unlock their apartnt door, peeking at his slender fingers pressing the digits.
