"I can feed myself with my own hands and feet, why are you feeding ?"
"Then I have hands and feet too, and you still feed often, don’t you?" Chenxing curved her lips and gently patted him twice, "Get up quickly, drink this and then you can go back to sleep."
Gu Shaocheng smiled, half-reclining in bed obediently.
After a mont of contemplation, his expression appeared complex, but he tried to hide it, "In the future, I’ll have you feed every day, let’s see if you still have this enthusiasm by then."
"Of course, I will."
"Really?"
"Definitely."
"Alright then, rember your words. You’re not allowed to go back on them or get disgusted by ," Gu Shaocheng said, opening his mouth wide.
One responsible for feeding, the other for eating.
Watching her, so innocent and full of vitality, he suddenly felt overwheld with guilt.
After a long while, a bowl of nourishing soup was completely consud, he took the bowl from Chenxing’s hand and placed it on the bedside table. The next second, he pulled her into his embrace.
His moist and warm lips sealed hers.
He slightly closed his eyes, deeply kissing her, his slender hand caressing her back, yet in his heart, he was thinking: Chenxing, if one day, I truly beco unable to take care of myself, would you really be willing to feed like now?
Not just once or twice, but every single day, doing such monotonous and boring tasks, would you still be willing?
Even if you take care of perfectly, I wouldn’t be able to reward you with a kiss afterward, would you still feel this happiness?
He was passionately extracting sothing from her mouth.
His heart slowly sank.
Would she?
Would she take care of herself?
Would she resent him?
There was a suffocating feeling that made his body tremble slightly.
Suddenly, he very much wanted to propose, hoping she would stay with him for life, in tis of helplessness, fear, and dread, for a hug, a kiss, to relax his mind;
But the overwhelming guilt made it hard for him to breathe.
So things are so easy to decide, yet so hard to do.
After a long ti, he stopped the kiss, reluctantly leaving her lips. Chenxing took a deep breath, and when she looked up again, her lips were sealed once more, his kiss stealing her breath away again.
A kiss fraught with complex emotions.
She only felt lost in its lingering touch.
Chenxing held his head with both hands, moving to undo his sleepwear, but he held her back. He didn’t want to make a morning exercise of it; he just wanted to kiss her like this, their fingers intertwined with his slightly damp palms.
He really liked this small gesture.
"Chenxing, I want to marry you."
As their lips parted once again, the words in his heart slipped out—he wanted to marry her. He feared that if he waited, he might no longer be able to do sothing as simple as kneeling to propose, or worse, he feared he might not even have the strength to put the ring on her finger himself during their wedding.
He was afraid, afraid of being unable to control his body like he was the night before.
Such a beautiful sentence to say and to hear, yet, to him, it felt like anything but happiness for the girl in front of him. It was selfishness and cruelty that he was offering.
Chenxing thought she was hallucinating and wasn’t sure what she had heard, so she asked, "What did you say?"
"I said, I want to marry you, to make you my wife."
