###Chapter 105: We Can’t Go Back

While Nina Wainwright was working day and night with Sandra Walsh to choreograph a dance, she received a call from Silas Sinclair.

"The month is up. Mr. Hawthorne said you can go to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get the divorce certificate."

It was only then that Nina Wainwright realized a whole month had passed.

"What ti?" she asked succinctly.

"Tomorrow morning at nine-thirty. He’ll be waiting for you at the Civil Affairs Bureau," Silas Sinclair replied.

Nina Wainwright grunted in acknowledgnt and imdiately hung up.

After a month of battling with the choreography, she hadn’t had ti to think about losing her parents and her child.

But this one call from Silas Sinclair was a harsh reminder of her failed marriage and the fact that she no longer had a family or a child.

"What’s wrong?" Sandra Walsh asked, seeing her sitting motionless in front of the computer.

Nina Wainwright shook her head slightly. "I have to go finalize my divorce tomorrow. I might be a little late to the studio."

"Are you sure about this?" Sandra Walsh asked gently. Theoretically, with Zachary Hawthorne’s family background, Nina Wainwright wouldn’t be able to find anyone comparable no matter how successful she beca in her field.

Nina Wainwright nodded, her tone calm. "I’ve wanted a divorce for a long ti."

Sandra Walsh didn’t try to persuade her further. ’The child is gone, so their relationship must be completely broken,’ she thought.

The next morning at nine-thirty, Nina Wainwright arrived at the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau right on ti.

Zachary Hawthorne was sitting inside, wearing a mask and a set of low-key casual clothes.

He saw Nina Wainwright, looking sharp and capable with her hair tied in a bun at the back of her head. He stared for a mont before quickly looking away.

They hadn’t arrived particularly early, and by the ti it was their turn, it was already ten-thirty.

The two of them barely spoke the entire ti, handling it like a business transaction, like a couple who had never shared any affection.

The mont she received the divorce certificate, Nina Wainwright let out a breath she hadn’t realized she was holding.

She took her copy and turned to leave without a second thought.

Zachary Hawthorne followed behind her. Once they were outside the Civil Affairs Bureau, he finally spoke. "If you need any help in the future, you can call ."

Nina Wainwright didn’t answer, walking straight toward the road instead.

A flicker of displeasure crossed Zachary Hawthorne’s heart. He stepped forward to block Nina Wainwright’s path and said in a low voice, "When did you get pregnant?"

The look in Nina Wainwright’s eyes was as cold and distant as if she were looking at a stranger. "Zachary Hawthorne, let’s just part ways peacefully. I’m very busy. I don’t have ti for small talk with you."

"I had the right to know you were pregnant." Zachary Hawthorne’s eyes were locked on her, his expression exceptionally cold. "If you had told , we wouldn’t have lost our child."

A flicker of emotion crossed Nina Wainwright’s eyes, but it vanished as quickly as it appeared. "The child is gone, and we are no longer husband and wife. The Wainwright family has lost two lives. Zachary Hawthorne, we can’t go back."

Her voice was so calm, reminding Zachary Hawthorne of an undeniable fact.

Before Zachary Hawthorne could say another word, Nina Wainwright walked around him.

She walked to the roadside, hailed a taxi, and got in.

Zachary Hawthorne watched the taxi drive away before walking toward his own car.

Silas Sinclair was standing by the car and opened the door for him as he approached.

It was obvious that Zachary Hawthorne was in a foul mood... Silas Sinclair didn’t dare provoke him, even breathing more softly.

"Haven’t you found anything on Raymond Wainwright’s case yet?" he asked Silas Sinclair with a cold expression the mont he got in the car.

Silas Sinclair lowered his voice. "He managed to get the loan because a newcor at the bank approved it to et their performance targets. But the bank later found out, which led to everything that followed. As for the kidnapping... that didn’t happen. The rumor is he was hiding from his debts and deliberately went into hiding, feeding false information to Miss Wainwright and her mother."

"Then what about her?" Zachary Hawthorne couldn’t care less how Raymond Wainwright died.

’The man was just asking for it.’

’He had no ability but was always biting off more than he could chew. If you had to na the person who ruined the Wainwright family, he was the main culprit.’

Silas Sinclair took a deep breath before answering nervously, "Her child... was deliberately caused to be lost. It was likely planned a long ti ago, so it will take so ti to investigate thoroughly."

Zachary Hawthorne leaned back against the car seat and closed his eyes.

’He still didn’t understand why Nina Wainwright had hidden her pregnancy from him. He had always thought he treated her quite well, that he always gave in to her. Even if she got pregnant, if she had told him, he wouldn’t have rejected the child.’

「The sweltering sumr passed.」

As autumn arrived, Nina Wainwright and Sandra Walsh had to race against ti to rehearse the newly choreographed dance.

Many of the dancers in the studio were quite unhappy about this.

Early one morning, Sandra Walsh played the completed animatic in the dance studio and addressed the dancers. "This is the new choreography. I showed it to the higher-ups, and they were very pleased. All of you need to dance it well. If you do, we might start a tour around National Day, and you could even appear on a regional TV station."

Talos TV was a very reputable station. If their choreographed dance could be perford on its stage during the National Day holiday, it would be a considerable honor.

"What was wrong with the old dance? We’ve been practicing it for a month, and now we have to start all over," said Cecilia Young, who was standing in the very center, her voice tinged with dissatisfaction.

Sandra Walsh looked at her, displeased. "I never said the previous dance was final. If you don’t want to dance this, just tell . I can find soone else. Any of you who think it’s too much work or don’t want to do it can step forward now. I absolutely will not force you."

"Then who is the lead dancer?" Cecilia Young asked, suppressing her annoyance with Nina Wainwright.

"Whoever dances the best will be the lead," Sandra Walsh replied. On this point, she had always been fair.

Cecilia Young lifted her chin and said to Sandra Walsh, "Ms. Walsh, it’s not that I don’t trust you, but Nina Wainwright is your student. I understand that she suddenly joined us because she wants to beco famous. But how am I supposed to know who you really think is the best dancer?"

Before Sandra Walsh could speak, Nina Wainwright cut in. "Everyone has eyes to see when we dance. If you’re not convinced, then let’s compete with one of the sections."

One section of the dance involved wire-work and was extrely difficult. It required absolute body control and balance to perform.

If nothing else, Nina Wainwright’s core strength was incredibly stable. Sandra Walsh had once said that among all her students over the years, only Nina had reached that level.

Sandra Walsh loved seeing this confident side of Nina Wainwright.

A smile touched her lips as she said to Cecilia Young, "Let’s rehearse for now. In a week, I’ll invite a few other instructors to co watch a dance-off between you. Whoever the instructors say is better will be the lead. I’ll only tell you this: if you perform this dance well, you could easily beco a breakout star. Whether you can seize this opportunity depends on your own efforts."

After she left, Cecilia Young rolled her eyes at Nina Wainwright. "Everyone knows you got in by pulling strings. The teacher is biased toward you; we all know it."

At the side, Anna Aniston’s eyes darted before she imdiately said, "Cecilia, the only reason you dare talk to Ms. Walsh like that is because your parents put in a word for you with her, isn’t it?"

Cecilia Young’s mother was a national dancer who had high hopes for her, which was why she had made a special point of speaking to Sandra Walsh.
