###Chapter 109: Turmoil in the Dance Troupe

Silas Sinclair fell silent.

Zachary Hawthorne leaned back against the car seat, closed his eyes, and said coldly, "The Sinclair family was close to the Sterling family in the past, so I can understand you favoring Luna Sterling. But I don’t want you jumping to conclusions without a proper investigation."

"Yes," Silas Sinclair replied in a low voice.

anwhile, Nina Wainwright and Adrian Pemberton arrived at Sandra Walsh’s studio.

She had just gotten out of the car when Adrian Pemberton grabbed her wrist. "You’re living here now? You don’t have anywhere else to stay?"

Adrian Pemberton knew her family’s house had been repossessed by the bank. Logically, since Zachary Hawthorne had paid the money back to the bank, the bank should have returned the house to her.

"I haven’t thought about looking for a place yet, and it’s convenient for to live here," Nina Wainwright answered softly.

Adrian Pemberton’s expression turned serious. "Your father’s debt has been paid. They should give the house back to you. You should find so ti to ask about it. If that doesn’t work, I can ask for you."

Nina Wainwright looked at him, her eyes calm as she said, "I already asked. The bank said the house has already been transferred. To get the money back, it has to go through a process."

And who knows how long a ’process’ like that could take?

"If it doesn’t work out, you can stay at my place. You know the house I bought, it’s very close to your old ho," Adrian Pemberton said gently.

"I definitely don’t need to right now. I’ll think about it later. Ms. Walsh’s studio has a dance room, and I need to practice dancing when I’m free at night," Nina Wainwright said, politely declining.

Hearing this, Adrian Pemberton could only sigh. "Alright then. When you need a place to stay, just let know."

"Thank you." Nina Wainwright’s face was filled with gratitude.

A smile touched Adrian Pemberton’s lips as he said gently, "You’re my friend, and a friend from my youth that I... held dear to my heart. Being able to help you makes truly happy."

Nina Wainwright’s eyes grew slightly moist, touched by the steadfast friendship he showed her in her ti of crisis.

"If I ever make it big in the future, I’ll never forget your kindness," Nina Wainwright said, forcing a smile.

"Of course," Adrian Pemberton said, reaching out to pat her head.

After returning to the studio, Nina Wainwright looked down from the window and saw Adrian Pemberton still standing downstairs. She waved at him.

Only then did Adrian Pemberton get into his car.

Early the next morning, Cecilia Young ca to the studio to watch them dance.

Nina Wainwright, on the other hand, had already been practicing for nearly two hours.

While everyone was getting ready, Nina Wainwright went to the restroom to wash her face. Before she even went in, she overheard Cecilia Young chatting with one of her friends.

"Looks like the center position won’t be yours this ti. Aren’t you going to tell your mom?" the girl asked. "On what grounds does she get it... With who your parents are, how could the center position ever go to Nina Wainwright?"

Not only could Cecilia Young not compare to Nina Wainwright, but her leg was also injured now, so she was understandably feeling a bit down. Hearing the comnt, she said with displeasure, "Ms. Walsh said it’s based on skill. Even if my parents had god-like connections and put in the center position, when it’s ti to perform on stage, everyone has eyes. Who knows what kind of rumors would spread then!"

The girl pouted. "You can get injured, so why can’t she? If her leg gets hurt, she won’t be able to go on stage."

Cecilia Young fell silent for a mont, then said, displeased, "How can you say that?! If she can’t perform, they’ll just find soone else. Besides, are we supposed to resort to these petty tricks every ti we can’t asure up to soone?!"

As she finished speaking and was about to turn, she suddenly saw another person’s reflection in the mirror.

She whipped her head toward the doorway and saw Nina Wainwright, clutching her chest. "Why are you standing there so quietly? You scared to death!"

Nina Wainwright didn’t answer her, instead turning her gaze to the girl next to her—Gia Jennings.

’So young, yet so malicious. To think she’d want to injure soone’s leg just because she can’t asure up.’

Gia Jennings imdiately lowered her head under Nina’s gaze and mumbled, "I was just joking."

"Even if you injured my leg, there might be others who are still better than you. Are you going to injure the leg of every single person you find who’s stronger than you?" Nina Wainwright asked calmly as she walked toward the sink.

Cecilia Young let out a cold snort, ignored Gia Jennings, and walked away with her head held high.

"I told you, I was just kidding! Why are you taking it so seriously?!" Gia Jennings snapped before following Cecilia Young out of the restroom.

Nina Wainwright turned slightly to watch her go, her eyes narrowing.

’People like her... even if she doesn’t cause trouble for now, she definitely will in the future.’

When Sandra Walsh arrived, Gia Jennings was very worried, terrified that Nina Wainwright would tell on her.

Even when they started dancing, Nina Wainwright hadn’t said anything about what she’d overheard. Gia Jennings breathed a sigh of relief, but she was frequently distracted during the dance.

Cecilia Young, sitting on a chair to the side, watched her make a fool of herself with a look of disdain.

Sandra Walsh finally lost her patience and snapped, "Gia Jennings, what do you think you’re doing! It’s one thing to not keep up with the rhythm, but you’re constantly making mistakes. Do you not want to dance anymore?!"

Gia Jennings’s eyes reddened as she apologized, "I’m sorry, I don’t feel well today."

"If you don’t feel well, then go sit with Cecilia Young and rest. Why are you dragging everyone down!" When it ca to dancing, Sandra Walsh was never one to be polite.

Gia Jennings could only bite her lip and go sit down next to Cecilia Young.

Seeing her aggrieved expression, Cecilia Young said in a low voice, "Just sit here and quietly watch how other people dance, then think about how you’ve been dancing."

"But wasn’t I doing it for you?" Gia Jennings muttered under her breath.

"I may not like her, but she’s definitely a better dancer than . I’m not despicable like you. I’ll just work on improving myself. Only a gutter rat would think like you." Cecilia Young was proud; she disdained such underhanded tactics.

She hadn’t been convinced about Nina Wainwright at first, but after seeing her dance just once, she understood the gap between them.

Besides, when everyone else was going ho yesterday, Nina Wainwright was the only one who took her to the hospital.

She would only surpass Nina Wainwright through dancing, not by stooping to such cheap tricks.

Gia Jennings’s face flushed red with sha at her words.

Cecilia Young glanced at her and said coolly, "If we perform this dance well, everyone in the troupe will get noticed. A strong lead dancer will help us make a na for ourselves. You wouldn’t ruin everyone’s future for your own selfish reasons, would you?"

"Of course not," Gia Jennings replied without any conviction.

"I’m warning you, I personally love this dance, and I’m counting on it to make our troupe famous. So cut the dirty tricks. If you suck, practice more instead of trying to break soone’s leg!" Cecilia Young might have been harsh to Nina Wainwright’s face, but because Nina had taken her to the hospital last night and even helped her with first aid for her injury beforehand, she wasn’t going to let Gia Jennings bully her.

Gia Jennings kept her head down and said no more, but her eyes were filled with sullen resentnt.

After saying her piece, Cecilia Young ignored her and focused on the girls who were dancing.

When they danced until noon, Sandra Walsh told the group, "National Day isn’t far off, but your dancing is still at this level... Compared to Nina Wainwright, you’re all lagging far behind. You need to spend more ti practicing!"
