### Chapter 94: Let Her Go
When the mont truly arrived, Nina Wainwright felt an overwhelming sense of calm.
She walked into the abandoned building, and the call was disconnected.
Nina Wainwright stood there for a mont before soone grabbed her neck from behind. A syringe plunged into her shoulder, and a cold liquid slowly seeped into her body.
Her consciousness slowly faded until she fell completely into a deep sleep.
Nina Wainwright didn’t know how long she had slept. When she woke up, it was already daylight.
A sharp pain pulsed through her lower body... She struggled to open her eyes. When she tried to move, the pain was so intense that her vision went black, and she nearly passed out again.
anwhile, the phone placed beside her was ringing incessantly.
It took Nina Wainwright a long while to recover. She pushed herself up into a sitting position and saw that the entire lower half of her body was stained red with blood. Her mind roared, and then went completely blank.
She stared intently at her lower body for a long ti before she could process it.
She reached out to touch her clothes, and her hand ca away sticky with blood.
Nina Wainwright reached out to touch her abdon... ’It feels like the baby... is gone.’
Although she had considered this outco when she ca here, facing the reality of it now brought an overwhelming wave of anguish that threatened to drown her.
She reached for her phone and saw it was a call from Catherine Grant. She pressed the answer key, and before she could say a word, she burst into tears.
"Nina, where are you?! I’ve been looking for you all night and couldn’t find you. You weren’t answering your phone... What happened to you?" Catherine Grant’s voice was filled with worry.
Nina Wainwright choked out between sobs, "Cathy... the baby’s gone... My baby’s gone..."
"Where are you..." Catherine Grant started crying too.
Nina Wainwright sobbed, "I don’t know... I’ll send you the address..."
After saying that, she sent the address to Catherine Grant with trembling hands.
When Catherine Grant arrived with people, she found Nina Wainwright sitting in a pool of blood, the clothes on her lower body completely red.
Her eyes turning red, Catherine Grant ran to her side and helped her up from the floor. "Nina... Nina... It’s okay. I’m taking you to the hospital right now."
Nina Wainwright clung to Catherine Grant, sobbing, "My baby is gone... Cathy, my baby is dead..."
Her heart was breaking.
Nina Wainwright knew nothing good would co of this, but... she had no other choice.
This child, the one she had hidden in secret for so long, seed as if it was never ant to be hers... Nina Wainwright’s whole body was trembling.
Crying, Catherine Grant helped her up. The people who ca with her clumsily carried her to the car.
The car drove to the hospital.
Catherine Grant shouted at the doctors running out with a gurney, "She’s injured, be gentle!"
Everyone scrambled to move Nina Wainwright from the car to the gurney.
Nina Wainwright had already lost consciousness.
"What’s her condition?" the doctors asked Catherine Grant, who was following them as they rushed the gurney into the hospital.
"A miscarriage..." Catherine Grant answered in a low voice.
The doctors’ expressions instantly turned grim.
With this much blood, the baby was likely long gone... Bringing her to the hospital now was just about saving the mother.
The gurney was pushed to the elevator doors.
The elevator doors slowly opened.
When Catherine Grant saw Zachary Hawthorne, she pretended not to.
Zachary Hawthorne saw Nina Wainwright on the gurney, the lower half of her body covered in blood. His pupils constricted, and he imdiately asked Catherine Grant, "What happened to her?!"
"You should just go worry about your mistress!" Catherine Grant yelled. "Why do you care what happens to her?!"
"I’m asking you, what happened to her?!" Zachary Hawthorne’s gaze was ice-cold.
"If you’re going to fight, take it outside! Don’t get in the way of us saving a patient!" a doctor pushing the gurney said impatiently to Zachary Hawthorne and Catherine Grant.
Catherine Grant shot Zachary Hawthorne a cold glare.
No matter how much she used to fear Zachary Hawthorne, she wasn’t afraid now.
She followed the doctors into the elevator, her face filled with rage.
Zachary Hawthorne stood silently to the side, his eyes fixed on Nina Wainwright.
Once Nina Wainwright was taken into the ergency room, Zachary Hawthorne asked Catherine Grant again, "What happened to her?"
"Can’t you find out for yourself?" Catherine Grant retorted, her eyes red. As she spoke, tears began to fall.
Zachary Hawthorne took out his phone and called Silas Sinclair.
When the call connected, he said with a grim face, "Look into the matter of Nina Wainwright’s family loan!"
After hanging up, he imdiately looked at Catherine Grant. "Was she pregnant?"
Nina Wainwright was bleeding from her lower body. He connected this to how she had always resisted sleeping with him and refused to let him take her to the hospital... In an instant, he realized her current condition was the result of a miscarriage.
Catherine Grant didn’t answer.
Her body was shaking violently.
After struggling to calm herself, she finally asked Zachary Hawthorne, "Have you ever cared about her? Have you ever given a damn about her? Nina Wainwright’s child is gone, so you don’t have to worry anymore. If you’re any kind of man, you’ll set her free. Don’t try to have your cake and eat it too!"
"Our affairs are none of your business," Zachary Hawthorne said grimly.
Catherine Grant sneered. "None of my business? Right, your affairs are nobody’s business. Not even when you’re spending every day with the supposed love of your life, buying her a ring worth over thirty million to make her happy! I guess that’s nobody’s business either!"
"Did she tell you all this?" Zachary Hawthorne asked, his voice dangerously cold.
"Does she even need to say it? Everyone in our circle knows that you and Luna Sterling are the ’golden couple’. My sister has been married to you for three years, and no one even knows she exists. Have you, Zachary Hawthorne, ever treated her like your wife?! Her parents were deceived into taking out a thirty-million-dollar loan, and you did nothing. Instead, you ran off to the hospital to see that unforgettable love of yours. In your eyes, she’s worth less than dirt!" Catherine Grant accused him furiously.
Zachary Hawthorne’s jaw was clenched tight.
As the two stood in stony silence, soone ca rushing over.
"Catherine!" Adrian Pemberton’s hair was a ss from running.
Catherine Grant, who had been staring at the "In Surgery" light, imdiately turned around. Her eyes were bloodshot. "Dr. Pemberton... I’m so sorry. I couldn’t protect Nina... Her baby is gone."
"It’s not your fault," Adrian Pemberton said gently, walking toward her.
Catherine Grant wiped her tears. "Her family was tricked out of thirty million... The other party planned this from the start. They wanted to use this whole thing to get rid of her baby quietly..."
Adrian Pemberton didn’t look at Zachary Hawthorne, but sighed. "Lately, I’ve been investigating the people who forced to tell them if she was pregnant. I’m finally making so headway."
He then looked at Zachary Hawthorne. "Mr. Hawthorne, let’s put aside the baby in Nina’s womb for a mont. I just want to ask you: if her miscarriage, and my hand being crippled, are both related to the Sterling Family, what will you do?"
"Everything requires evidence," Zachary Hawthorne said coldly.
Adrian Pemberton gave a cold laugh. "So that’s your answer. I understand. I hope you’ll have the guts to say that to Nina’s face when the ti cos."
"If you’re a man, let Nina go. If you think she owes you money, my family, the Grant Family, can afford to pay it. I’m begging you, just let her go and live her life!" Catherine Grant added, picking up where Adrian Pemberton left off, her voice thick with anger.
