589: Chapter 185: Storm Hammer (Part 1) 589: Chapter 185: Storm Hammer (Part 1) In the sky, Kusler coldly observed the battle unfolding below.
The Milanese had grown fiercer since the battle began, and while the Flore’s Army attacked in waves like the tide, the relatively simple magic, arrows, and stones flung from the city walls caused massive casualties.
Corpses were continuously emerging, and lives gradually slipping away.
These were Flore’s sons witnessing this made Kusler’s heart ache as if it were being cut by a knife.
Yet, what could he do?
If victory in this battle eluded them, the blow to Flore would only be greater.
“Prepare, let’s give the Milanese a taste of the Wind Attribute Forbidden Curse.
I refuse to believe that Milan’s mages have the capacity to stop it.”
Forbidden Curses had appeared more than once on this battlefield.
Like the initial ground upheaval from Ming, Zi’s Whirlwind Laser Slash, or Ye Yinzhu’s Void Sound Blade, each one caused damage of the Forbidden Curse rank.
On the side of the Flore Empire, the only one truly capable of casting a Forbidden Curse was none other than the Purple Star Dragon Knight, Marshal Kusler of Flore.
Of course, the one who was to unleash the Forbidden Curse wasn’t him, but the Elder mounted beneath him from Fenglong City.
After days of bat, the Fenglongs’ stamina was undoubtedly depleted, so the strength of Kusler’s single giant dragon mount was insufficient to initiate a Forbidden Curse on its own.
After all, Fenglongs were not part of the Superior Dragon Clan, and even Elders could not cast Forbidden Curses as easily as a Silver Dragon like Li Sha.
However, three other Fenglongs were present, and their contribution transformed the impossible into reality.
A deep draconic incantation echoed through the heavens, a spot unreachable by Spirit City’s mages and archers.
The simultaneous chanting of the four giant dragons caused the Wind elements in the air to coalesce.
Unlike other Magic Elements, Wind Elements appeared in swirling patterns.
The chanting mages and dragons alike drew upon the power of these swirling Wind Element cores, using their own energy as a catalyst to unleash powerful magic.
The wind in the air grew increasingly fierce, for the curse Kusler intended to invoke was one of the most tyrannical wide-area Wind Attribute Forbidden Curses.
With the bined might of the four Fenglongs, they were fully capable of executing this terrifying spell.
Soon, nine immense tornadoes would appear over Spirit City, their sweeping power assuring to bring catastrophic disaster to the Milanese with winds that could sweep away all defenses.
This wasn’t the first time Kusler had cast a Forbidden Curse.
It was his Forbidden Curses that had inflicted heavy losses on the Eastern Military Corps’ mages.
After the first battle, only about two hundred mages remained within the city.
Deprived of the support of powerhouses like Ye Yinzhu, Zi, and Ming, every subsequent Forbidden Curse Kusler initiated could only be resisted by the joint Magic Defense Covers activated by the mages.
And although they successfully rebuffed the might of the Forbidden Curses multiple times, against such terrifying power, all their mana was exhausted, and the overstretched mages left this world one after another.
However, with their strength, they minimized the impact of the Forbidden Curses.
Otherwise, if the city had been exposed to a Forbidden Curse directly, it would mean thousands of casualties, and most crucially, the possibility that the city walls would be breached.
At that point, the Eastern Military Corps would truly lack the strength to resist Flore’s Army.
The last time Kusler unleashed a Forbidden Curse was two days ago.
After two days of rest, his mount had accumulated enough mana.
Now with the aid of the other three Fenglongs, their mana surged to the limit, ramping up the Forbidden Curse’s might to its peak.
The ever-strengthening storm in the sky was also noticed by the Milanese manders atop the city walls.
Anchelotti’s plexion drastically changed as he knew full well the current state of his mages.
As one of the largest sources of offensive firepower in this fight, the remaining eighty or so mages were all deeply fatigued.
With another Forbidden Curse descending, what power did they have left to resist?
Another activation of Magic Defense, whether or not it withstood the Forbidden Curse, would undoubtedly doom the remaining eighty mages.
“Seems a bit far,” Anchelotti fought an inner battle, urgently debating whether to instruct the mages to mount their final defense when a deep voice sounded beside him.
Turning to look, Anchelotti was overjoyed to discover that the three-meter-tall giant had appeared atop the city walls at some point.
Although five days had passed, the memory of the Mountain Giant Ming turning the tide and repelling attackers with his sheer arm strength remained deeply etched in the hearts of the Milan Warriors.
With his emergence, cheers erupted on the city walls.
To them, Ming was almost like a deity.
Anchelotti noticed the intensifying storm in the sky and the freshly restored Ming had noticed as well.
With his Divine Beast prowess, he could tell that it was about to be a wide-area Wind Attribute Forbidden Curse.
His mention of “a bit far” was in regard to the range of his lightning attack.
To maintain control over the situation and to keep out of the range of all Milanese attacks, Kusler and his Dragon Knights were now a kilometer high in the sky.
Even though Ming’s singular thunderous power was formidable, a kilometer was still too far.
“Mr.
Ming, have you recovered?” Although Anchelotti knew that Ming served Ye Yinzhu, he did not dare to treat him with anything but the utmost respect and hurriedly came to Ming’s side to ask reverently.
With a simple smile, Ming nodded and said, “My body is fine now.
Are you worried about those crawlies in the sky?
Don’t worry.
Leave them to me.”
As he spoke, the light in Ming’s eyes suddenly intensified, and his vision slowly merged into one, restoring his single eye.
Then, with a gentle swipe over the area of his single eye, he suddenly had something in his hand.
It was a pointed hammer that didn’t seem to have any special characteristics, its surface shrouded in a faint glow of thunder and lightning, as if the exploding energy fluctuations were being suppressed by some force.
For Ming’s large hands, such a short-handed warhammer was like a toy.
He weighed it lightly, then, looking up at the continuously forming wind attribute forbidden curse in the distance, he smiled coldly, “It’s been a long time since this guy has seen action.
I’ll dedicate the first hit to you crawlies.”
“Ha—” Ming roared loudly, and the surrounding Milan soldiers were so shaken that they almost lost their hearing instantly.
Then, they clearly saw Ming’s body turn blue-purple in a flash, as immense power of thunder and lightning converged towards his right hand with unparalleled speed.
Raising his head, Ming’s single eye had turned pletely deep blue—not the kind that resembled ripples on water, but a blue posed of countless lightning forces.
“Storm—Hammer—,” he shouted with each word, and with each word that emerged, the small warhammer in his hand glowed more intensely with lightning.
When the last word was spoken, he raised his arm high, and the warhammer, with its distorted light and immense power of thunder and lightning, burst forth as a phantom and shot towards the sky.
How could a weapon wielded by a divine beast like Ming be ordinary?
It was none other than the Thor’s Hammer, touted as the strongest divine artifact.
Though this Thor’s Hammer was only a half, the mighty defense of the Thor Hammer Fort alone was enough to show how overpowering this artifact was.
While it was the same Thor’s Hammer, the one in Ming’s hands and the one held by the Beastman Thunder God Tribe showed no significant difference in power.
Except that the Thor Hammer Fort, with a special magic formation and Thor’s Hammer at its core, had created a Forbidden Magic Field.
Although Ming lacked the support of a magic formation, the pointed Thor’s Hammer he wielded was constantly nurtured within his single eye.
It should be noted that Mountain giants are known as the Sons of Thor, and the lightning element within his single eye was incredibly beneficial to the divine artifact, Thor’s Hammer.
Therefore, the Thor’s Hammer’s special attack, Storm Hammer, that Ming unleashed would not be any less powerful than the Storm Hammer invoked by the Thunder God Tribe using the magic formation with their round-handled Thor’s Hammer.
Kusler, feeling the growing wind force around him, felt slightly more smug.
His judgment of the Milan wizards was spot on; he firmly believed that it was nearly impossible for the Milanese to resist in the face of such a wide-range, full-force forbidden curse.
If they could just break into the city and open the gates, then the war could end.
Although the losses of Flore’s Army were severe, if they could gain strategic advantage, there was still room for redemption.
Just at that moment, Kusler suddenly felt an odd sensation; it was as if the entire space had warped slightly, and a unique aura surged from below.
As he looked down, his gaze landed on the walls of Spirit City, where a dazzling thunderous light shone.
Naturally, Kusler was unaware that the power was unleashed by a Mountain giant, but with his strength and vision as a Purple Star Dragon Knight, he immediately recognized the immense power of that force.
“Not good, stop the incantation now.” In a moment of alarm, he immediately relayed the message to his magical beast panions.
Unfortunately, once a forbidden curse had begun, how could it be easily stopped?
Especially dragon speech magic, which was even more so.(To be continued, if you wish to know what happens next, please visit , where there are more chapters, support the author, support genuine reading!)
