692: Chapter 219 Sura, do you remember them?

(Part 2)_1 692: Chapter 219 Sura, do you remember them?

(Part 2)_1 What Ye Yinzhu desired was exactly this word of assurance, and he further inquired, “So does that mean, as long as Her Royal Highness The Princess agrees to marry me, Your Majesty will not oppose it?”

Emperor Maximo smiled and said, “Of course, in front of my subjects of the Landias Empire, I hereby announce that, as long as the Phoenix Princess agrees, I will give her as a wife to you.

However, be mentally prepared; my Phoenix Princess isn’t easily swayed.

As the single champion, you have the right to present her with your talent and gifts.

I look forward to your success.”

Maximo knew Sura’s indifference all too well, hence he dared not make too bold of a promise in front of Ye Yinzhu.

He had already thought this through, if his daughter agrees to marry Ye Yinzhu everything would be perfect, but if she doesn’t, he might just forgo the formalities altogether.

This young man isn’t easy to deceive, he will have Kleyena marry him in the capacity of a princess.

From Crespo and Cruz, Maximo already knew about the intimate relationship of Kleyena and Ye Yinzhu, which he greatly approved of.

With Kleyena as the insurance, plus the temptation of power and wealth, he believed no one could offer Ye Yinzhu a better treatment than his.

“Thank you, Your Majesty.” Ye Yinzhu bowed to Maximo once more.

Kleyena, who was standing by his side, for some reason, felt a pang of sorrow in her heart.

Ever since she met Ye Yinzhu, she had never seen him show such great deference to someone.

Is it simply because the Phoenix Princess is the daughter of an emperor?

Because of fame and wealth?

So it turned out that he couldn’t escape convention after all.

“Your Majesty, the Phoenix Princess, she …”, Ye Yinzhu asked anxiously after bowing to Maximo.

Maximo naturally knew his intent.

Seeing the eagerness in Ye Yinzhu’s eyes, he was quite delighted.

It seemed that this young man, who always remained serene in times of honor or disgrace, indeed had a weak spot.

As long as he had a weak spot, that’s good.

“Bring forth the Phoenix.”

Crespo on the side loudly announced, “The Phoenix es into the ceremony.”

A melodious music drifted in from somewhere, and in the distance, a mass of pink fog floated towards them.

As it drew closer, everyone realized that it was not fog at all, but a rain of flower petals posed of countless petals.

Under the fluttering petals, a golden platform towering thirty meters high rose from the ground, with white gauze hanging on top where a woman in palace attire sat.

While her visage was vaguely obscured by the gauze, the hint of her beauty only served to awaken one’s imagination.

While others may not gazing through, the gauze was no barrier for Ye Yinzhu.

When he sent a spirit quietly into the gauze and saw the woman’s face clearly, Ye Yinzhu was momentarily stupefied.

It’s her indeed, really her.

But not entirely her, as the woman before his eyes was even more breathtakingly beautiful.

Sura sat there quietly, her eyes reddening slightly, and crystalline tears lingered at the corners of her eyes.

Her black hair was tied up, and her bewitching face was flawless.

The golden palace robe she wore accentuated her noble elegance.

Saintess of Light, Marina was a dazzling beauty, but if she were to stand next to Sura now, she could only serve as a foil.

The beauty of Sura was transcendental.

If it weren’t for a touch of worldly sorrow in the tear at the corner of her eye, anyone would believe she was an angel fallen from the heavens.

Withdrawing his spirit, Ye Yinzhu’s last ounce of worry also evaporated.

As long as the Phoenix Princess was Sura, everything else posed no problem for him.

“Ye Su, Ye Su, …” Kleyena softly called out to Ye Yinzhu, thinking to herself, could he be stupefied from just a glimpse?

Wasn’t she a beauty too?

Even when he first met the older Sister Marina, he wasn’t like this.

Nevertheless, Kleyena noticed something different in Ye Yinzhu’s eyes.

His eyes looked infatuated but still clear, with endless affection lurking deep within.

For some reason, his mesmerized gaze seemed to tug at her heartstrings a bit; she found herself wishing that he would look at her like that.

It took Kleyena several calls before Ye Yinzhu came back to himself, looking at her somewhat puzzled.

Kleyena whispered, “Can you see the person inside clearly?

But this rain of flowers is really beautiful!”

Most people, like Ye Yinzhu, were looking up at the golden platform.

Of course, they did not possess Ye Yinzhu’s ability to see through it all.

But everyone was wondering, just how beautiful is the first beauty of Landias Empire?

Of course, this did not include those ministers who had seen Sura’s chill and lifeless gaze before.

With the golden platform adjacent to the petition, Maximo waved his hand and people cleared a path for Ye Yinzhu.

Emperor Maximo gave a slight smile and said, “Ye Su, would you first show your talent to the Phoenix, or present your gift?”

All Ye Yinzhu could see was the woman resting upon the high platform.

In response to the Emperor’s words, he replied, “Both, simultaneously.”

Raising his hand, the Sumeru Divine Ring lit up, and a cluster of faintly dazzling stardust appeared in his palm.

Maximo was stunned, and so was everyone else around him.

All that appeared in Ye Yinzhu’s hand was a box, a palm-sized box.

But that box was in fact carved out of Krypton Gold.

Clearly etched on the box were two characters, “Ye Su.”

Who could have thought that this young man, who didn’t even own a magic staff, could present a Krypton Gold box?

How lavish was that?

And as lavish as the box was, what about the item inside?

What extraordinary value would that hold?

A chill ran through Maximo’s hand as the piece of Krypton Gold landed in his palm.

Ye Yinzhu’s voice sounded next to his ear, “Your Majesty, may I ask you to deliver this gift to Her Royal Highness The Princess.”

To Maximo’s surprise, the youth before him seemed to be even more inscrutable.

Casually gifting Krypton Gold to others, was he really not lacking wealth?

Given that Krypton Gold was exceedingly valuable, he handed it over to Cruz next to him, who, as the Marshal, would personally present it.

After the Krypton Gold had been handed over, Ye Yinzhu seemed to lose interest.

He slowly advanced along the path opened up by the crowd until he arrived at the base of the golden platform.

He looked up towards the platform and said “Your Royal Highness The Princess, I wish to sing a song for you, hoping that the Phoenix would lend an ear.”

Upon hearing that Ye Yinzhu was about to sing again, everyone took a step back in surprise.

They all knew that Ye Yinzhu sung like he was using Spiritual Magic, which had even defeated the Saintess of Light.

“Ye Su, maybe you should reconsider singing…”, Maximo couldn’t help saying.

Ye Yinzhu shook his head, sitting down where he was, “Your Majesty, don’t worry, I won’t infuse any magic power.”

A flash of light, and a chestnut-colored ancient zither sat atop Ye Yinzhu’s knees, a perplexing mix of cow hair and small icy cracks.

As the zither emerged, Ye Yinzhu’s demeanor changed once again, appearing supremely ethereal, embodying elegance and nobility in every gesture.

Even the Saintess of Light, Marina, couldn’t help being affected by his grace.

“With the rising of the morning sun, the nesting phoenix sings out.

The moment the red strings are strummed, civilization awakens.

This zither is named Singing Phoenix.

Ye Su borrows from the sentiment of the Phoenix Seeking Phoenix, wishing to play for Her Royal Highness The Princess.”

The moment the first string resonated, the expressions of the few people onstage shifted all at once.

From the sound of the zither, Saintess of Light Marina suddenly remembered his identity.

Emperor Maximo also felt an uneasy stirring.

Two words flashed across his mind, invoking his daughter’s previous pleas, causing a sense of dread to instill within his heart.

But once the first note was struck, no one could stop him from continuing.

Indeed, Ye Yinzhu would not employ any magic power on Sura, but that first note had already overwhelmed all those on the platform.

The zither note that mixed with the breath of the soul caught everyone off guard, rendering even Marina incapable of resisting, let alone anyone else.

At the striking of that first note, the box crafted from krypton gold was handed to Sura by Cruz from behind the screen.

Without the gaze of others, those peerless eyes no longer needed the coldness to conceal their original brilliance.

The krypton gold felt heavy in her hand, abundant elemental energy stimulating her palm inducing a strange sensation deep within her heart.

While the zither note resonated, Sura hesitated to open the box made of krypton gold, clutching it tightly in her hand.

The tune of the Singing Phoenix was melodious and bright, yet the song it played was filled with deep sorrow and desolation.

It seemed to be telling a story, the story of the pain of a lover’s departure, and the unending suffering of yearning.

The sound of the zither sometimes resembled a furious roar of pines in the wind, sometimes the mournful call of a cuckoo, lingering in the air, refusing to fade.

The marvelous elegance of the instrument was indeed extraordinary.

As the overture finished, the singing menced.

The song and the zither harmonized perfectly, intensifying the melancholy.

“Who is there,

Whose eyes,

Don’t need the fort of a lover.

Whose heart,

Whose affection,

Don’t want to hold hands until tomorrow.

If love is as fleeting as blooming and falling flowers,

Love will eventually bee a sandy beach,

Don’t ask me how,

To reach forever.

Watching the world’s fate rise and fall,

Don’t laugh at my lack of resentment and regret,

Who understands how to love,

To find true eternity.

I can’t see,

I can’t hear,

The promise of eternity.

I just see,

I just hear,

The once entwined love affair.”

The sorrowful song was raspy from choked sobs, Ye Yinzhu’s vision also became blurry.

Scenes from the past seemed to replay themselves, drifting past his eyes between the notes of the zither and the lines of the song.
