Santos pounded his chest forcefully with his fists, “I want to see today who dares to take a step towards my mansion’s entrance.” As he spoke, he suddenly stomped his foot, causing the ground within a ten-meter radius to shatter pletely with a loud rumble.
An overwhelming golden light gushed out and made his body glitter as bright as the sun.
His massive fist suddenly swung out, launching a massive golden shockwave towards the numerous Lion Men standing in front of his gate.
The color drained from Pamir’s face, and the same thing happened to the rest of the Lion Men.
In the Thunder God Tribe, the Golden Behemoth King Santos was a symbol of a War God.
Seeing this powerful figure enraged, Pamir panicked, hurriedly gathering his Douqi.
But against the glaring gold light that shone like the sun, his heart wavered.
He muttered to himself, my life is over.
Just as the situation reached its climax, a deep voice suddenly rang out, “Brother Santos, show some mercy.”
A deep purple light swiftly approached and was acpanied by a loud thunderous roar.
A dazzling purple lightning bolt crashed into the golden sphere Santos had launched.
A thunderous blast echoed out, and a shockwave mixed with gold and purple rose into the sky, almost illuminating the entire Thor Hammer Fortress.
Santos’s face changed, his shoulder shook slightly, but he didn’t move from his spot.
A tall figure appeared in front of Pamir.
Also a Lion Man, but he was a lot taller than Pamir, with reddish-gold mane scattered behind his head.
He held in his hand a warhammer that seemed very small in parison to his size, with an old-fashioned aura that manded respect without showing anger.
This was none other than the Chief of the Thunder God Tribe, the Lion King Guti.
The two powerful figures of the Thunder God Tribe clashed in an evenly matched battle.
Though Guti looked calm on the surface, he was shocked to the core.
Contending with Golden Behemoth King Santos had resulted in a tie, even though he had used his Thor’s Hammer.
He had not had a match with him for a long time and had not anticipated that he would be this formidable.
It seemed that in a fair fight, he might not be Santos’s match.
Guti was surprised, and so was Santos.
Naturally, he knew how strong Guti was.
His punch earlier was intended to destroy every member of the Golden Legion before his eyes, to clear any future obstacles for his brothers when they decide to campaign against the Thunder God Tribe.
He hadn’t expected Guti’s sudden intervention, which not only neutralized his attack but redirected both of their efforts towards the sky.
Even though Guti had the power of Thor’s Hammer, his strength couldn’t be underestimated.
He would undeniably be a tough opponent in the future.
“Chief, what is the meaning of this?” Santos asked, giving Guti a cold look.
Guti smiled slightly and said, “Brother Santos, don’t misunderstand.
It’s my subordinates who are at fault for disturbing your rest.
As you know, we’re at a critical moment in our war with the Milanese.
With spies infiltrating our city, it’s inevitable that I’d be on edge.” He spoke as if he hadn’t noticed the bodies of the four Lion Men tossed aside, his face was amiable, even somewhat ingratiating.
Guti’s arrival at the scene was no coincidence.
After sending out Pamir, he suddenly realized that given Santos’s fiery temper, he might not permit a search so readily, especially since he’d been confining the Golden Behemoth King recently.
Fearing his own people would get hurt, he decided to rush over and, sure enough, was able to dispel Santos’s violent attack just in time.
Santos’s face turned cold, “So, you’re saying that you don’t trust me, Chief?”
“No, no, Brother Santos, please don’t misunderstand.
In fact, I’ve let my troops search my own mansion as well.
We are the leaders of the Thunder God Tribe, and we should set an example.
Brother Santos, can you give me this much respect?”
With Guti, the chief himself, having gone this far, there was no longer any reason for Santos to refuse unless he wanted to break with him there and then.
Reluctantly, Santos huffed and waved his hand, “Fine, I’ll give the Chief some face.”
Guti signaled Pamir at his side.
The terrified captain of the guard finally led his men quickly into the interior of Santos’s residence.
Santos was prepared to explode at any moment.
If Pamir and his men discovered anything, he may need to fall out with Guti right then and there.
But he also knew he was in the Thor Hammer Fortress and, even if Guti weren’t there, he was not capable of breaking through the millions of troops in the fortress by himself.
What surprised Santos was that there were no alarms from the Lion Men who had entered his residence to search.
After quite a while, a humiliated Pamir walked out with his men and bowed to Guti, “Chief, we have not found anything.”
Guti and Santos breathed a sigh of relief at the same time.
He naturally hoped that nothing would be discovered, and seeing Santos’s increasingly gloomy look, he quickly said, “My brother Santos, I’m sorry for disturbing you today.
I’ll host a banquet to apologize to you another day.”
As he spoke, he sternly ordered his subordinates, “Carry away the bodies now.”
Pamir immediately ordered his men to lift the bodies and left in embarrassment.
After once again apologizing to Santos, Guti quickly took his leave.
He certainly didn’t want to have a full-fledged fight with Santos within the fortress.
After all, as the Golden Behemoth King, Santos had a significant following within the Thunder God Tribe.
Seeing Guti and his men pletely disappear, Santos’s face regained its calm.
He waved his hand at his four subordinates and the Frenzied Behemoth soldiers returned to their posts.
Santos quickly returned to his room where, just as the lion men had reported, it was pletely empty.
No trace had been left; Zi and Ye Yinzhu had already vanished.
Santos sighed, “Zi, have you already left?
I hope you won’t make me wait too long in the Frosty Forest.
The day we meet again, brother, we will sweep through the Northernmost Wilderness.”
Yes, while Ye Yinzhu and Zi were waiting in Santos’s room, they had already sensed that something was wrong.
Before Guti appeared, Ye Yinzhu had detected the arrival of the Lion King, thanks to his Unity of Heaven and Man sensing ability.
It was not yet time to lay all their cards on the table with Guti.
While Santos was detaining them outside, the two quietly left Santos’s residence through a window.
Despite the fact that a thorough search was underway within Thor’s Hammer Fortress, Ze Yinzhu and Zi easily scaled the fortress walls and returned to Holy Light City, thanks to their strength.
This journey to Thor’s Hammer Fortress has proved to be worthwhile.
Although there was no concrete progress, establishing contact with Santos had helped to expand their thinking drastically.
A direct assault on Thor’s Hammer Fortress using the influence of the Four Sacred Beasts was not impossible, but it could result in numerous casualties and provoke a swift reaction from the Three Great Beastman Tribes, they might decide to unite.
This was not what Ye Yinzhu wanted.
Creating internal divisions on the other hand was a different story.
Once the three tribes bee stranded manders, losing all support within the Northernmost Wilderness, it will be much easier to substitute their rule when the time es.
Back within Holy Light City, Ye Yinzhu returned to his resting quarters with Zi.
Sura and Haiyang were still awake and talking.
Seeing the two men return, Haiyang offered them two cups of hot water.
Ye Yinzhu said, “Zi, Brother Santos is ready to start.
When are we leaving?”
Zi looked deep into Ye Yinzhu’s eyes, “It’s I who will go, not us.
You are needed here to mand.
We can’t be without a head.
Yinzhu, I can’t let you take this risk going to the Northernmost Wilderness with me.”
Ye Yinzhu replied with a smile, “What, can’t the entire behemoth clan protect me?”
Zi shook his head, “No, that’s not it.
Yinzhu, this is a matter within our Beastman Clan.
Let me deal with it myself.
You have a lot to do here as well.
If Faran would attack Qin City, it would be endangered without you here.”
Ye Yinzhu raised his hand to interrupt Zi, “Zi, do you remember?
I promised you a long time ago that I would help you unify the Northernmost Wilderness.
We’re brothers.
How can I be absent when it matters most?
I disagree.”
Although Haiyang and Sura didn’t understand what Ye Yinzhu was saying, they didn’t interrupt.
They let the men sort things out between themselves.
Of course, they had already made up their minds.
If Yinzhu was going on another adventure again, they definitely wouldn’t be left behind.
Zi said in a solemn voice, “Yinzhu, I understand.
But your help here means even more to me.
I need you to keep the people of the Thunder God and War God Tribes at bay so that they cannot muster large forces to besiege my operation.
Isn’t that also helping me?
Besides, if I’m truly in danger, I’ll summon you to my side immediately.
With your strong Soul Power, you’ll feel when I’m in trouble even if I don’t call you.
I assume you wouldn’t let me die then.”
