Now reading: Chapter 736: Real Cause of Zhongxiong’s Death from Zombie Apocalypse: Creation, a Action novel by IPI.

The report was much longer than Xiaoyun had imagined. Despite only being three pages long, it took him an entire hour to read.

"So, you’re telling the real cause of Zhongxiong’s death is sothing related to Pinli’s father, Wu Min?"

"Yes, sir. All the financial transactions indicated that Wu Min had been looking for an exit plan for his family.

He had transferred over a million dollars’ worth of equipnt under the disguise of trade, and he had brought several properties under his wife’s na."

As Xi Liang repeated the words from the report, Xiaoyun still felt the report itself was more based on speculation, not direct evidence.

"Is there any other evidence outside of his financial transaction?"

"Um, there’s also an interesting detail one of our agents found... The two n often et in private in Zhongxiong’s office.

Wu Min had always been seen carrying a small bag out of his office, except for their last eting a few days before Zhongxiong’s death."

This ti, Xiaoyun felt a little tingle. Sothing was clearly behind this mystery, but there was still no direct evidence.

"Have you tried to figure out what is in the bag?" Xiaoyun questioned.

"No, but rumor has it that it is so dicine... Based on the record we found in Guangzhou’s hospital, it also seems to add up."

"What kind of dicine?"

"Insulin."

"Insulin? It shouldn’t be that hard for him to get it... Why would he need to get it from Zhongxiong out of all people?"

"I’m not sure. But our third agent did report that there seems to be a general dical shortage in Changsha." Xi Liang answered.

"This still doesn’t explain why he killed Zhongxiong if that is actually the case. Killing him isn’t going to let him magically get more insulin.

Besides, his wife and daughter already live here. There’s literally no point for him to do anything when we can already produce insulin here."

As Xi Liang stood there in silence, unable to respond to his question, Xiaoyun knew it was ti to end the report for now.

"Thank you for your work. You may leave now."

"Ye,s sir!"

With Xi Liang out of the room, Yueyue imdiately went over to close the door before sitting down right at the table.

"Xiaoyun, do you think Wu Min killed Zhongxiong?"

"I don’t know... Your agent couldn’t figure it out. What makes you think I’ll be able to conclude from this?"

"Co on, you got the big brain ideas. Surely you can co up with sothing that could answer this mystery for ."

As Yueyue gently brushed Xiaoyun’s hair with her hand, he quickly pushed it aside before getting up from the chair.

"Okay, that’s enough. Let’s go ho before Leyan gets worried—"

"Hey, let’s not leave yet. How are you going to explain your relationship with Houqin to everyone else in the family?"

The sudden question caught Xiaoyun completely off guard, but he quickly turned around as he looked at her in the face.

"How do you know that?"

"I have my thods... Co, sit down. Don’t you want to co up with an explanation first before Mom puts you on the grill?"

After a short hesitation, Xiaoyun went back to her seat, sitting right across from her as she remained seated on the desk.

"You know, I was a little hurt when I found out this news from my agent." Yueyue quietly murmured, her hands holding onto her knees.

"I’m going to be honest here, I was going to tell you guys about it tonight. I wasn’t planning to hide it or anything."

"That’s good to hear... But what excuses are you going to use this ti?"

As Yueyue’s face changed from sadness to intrigue within a matter of seconds, Xiaoyun’s face was a little uneasy.

"I’m not using an excuse. I like Houqin. That’s the end of the story."

"Mhm. So you’re going to tell them that you just wanted to cheat for the sake of cheating?"

"Okay, now you put it like that. Maybe it’s not the best idea... But I can’t deny that I do have so feeling for her."

"Why don’t you just tell them the things that led up to you falling in love with her?" Yueyue suggested.

"You know about it already?"

Xiaoyun nervously asked, his mind still feeling a little embarrassed by the thing he had done to Houqin.

"Know about what?"

"Nothing. Ahem, I feel like I should just be upfront about it, no? I’m sure they’ll get over it once they understand the situation."

"I don’t know, man... They might just think you can’t be trusted with any female employee and ban you from even talking to them."

"That’s ridiculous. There’s no way they draw that conclusion when there are hundreds of thousands of won in the workforce.

It will be impossible for to avoid it. Besides, I’m not a horny dog. I genuinely had feelings for her that made fall in love—"

"Feelings like giving your female employee a vibrator and sex toys?"

"You——Ahem, nice bait. I would never do that. What even makes you think to suggest sothing like this?"

"You know Houqin filed sexual harassnt charges against you, right? If she didn’t drop it herself later, you should be in prison right now."

"She did?"

Xiaoyun’s eyes widened in shock. His heart was beating like crazy, as it could have been a massive scandal.

"Mhm. I only took it off the database after I asked her about it... What made you think it was appropriate to give this kind of gift to a female employee?"

"I... It was a complete accident. I accidentally walked into her... toying with a pen, and I thought it was too dangerous."

"Really?"

This ti, Yueyue looked a little surprised, her face with disbelief all over it as if she thought he was just making bullshit up.

"I’m being serious. I left Houqin’s office, and then I returned to get sothing. There, I see her playing with herself during work hours."

"You didn’t touch her back then, right?"

"Of course I didn’t. She’s only an employee of mine... My mind was just thinking of safety and gave her an actual thing rather than a pen."

As Xiaoyun desperately tried to defend himself, the irritation on Yueyue’s face finally disappeared.

"That better be your thought behind it... Anyway, you’re sidetracking . You still haven’t thought of how you’re going to explain it to them."

"I... I think I’m just going to be upfront about it. I’m just going to stick with my answer and tell them everything I know."

"You sure?" Yueyue questioned.

"I’m sure. There’s no better way than be honest. I’ll just tell them everything that had been between Houqin and ." Xiaoyun answered.

"Everything? Including what you just talked about earlier."

"Everything."

"Mhm... But you still have one little secret that you haven’t told . I don’t think that’s really being honest, is it?"

"W-What?"

"In the middle of the night, you called Tianci... Hm, I wonder what could be in it? Surely no one would wiretap you."

"You..."

A hint of anger began to appear on Xiaoyun’s face, but he couldn’t say anything back at her as he was the one trying to keep it a secret.

"Hehe, I’m just kidding. I don’t know what’s inside the conversation. All I know is you made a phone call at that ti."

Yueyue paused for a second, then continued.

"But it sure will hurt if soone is still hiding sothing from us. I would feel hurt too if soone didn’t tell the full story behind it."

After a short consideration in his head, Xiaoyun finally chose to confess in the end as he felt a little guilty trying to hide it.

"Fine, I’ll tell you what happened. But I don’t want to tell them about it right now... Only Tianci and I know what happened between us."

"Mhm, I’m all ears."

"Houqin... A zombie bit her."

The news made Yueyue freeze in place. Her ears couldn’t believe what Xiaoyun had just dropped in her office.

"You serious?"

"I’m serious. By the ti I found her in a hotel running out of Changsha, a zombie had bitten her leg."

"B-But my agents said she looked completely fine."

"Of course she’s fine. I was the one who saved her. That’s why she looked normal to your agents."

"B-But you just said she was bitten. There’s no way you had figured out a cure for the zombie virus."

As Yueyue repeated the confusion in her head, Xiaoyun let out a small sigh as he looked back at her right in the face.

"I didn’t find her a cure... Do you really want to hear how I managed to save her?"

With zero hesitation, she nodded her head over and over again. She sat on the desk in silence as she waited for his answer.

"When I evacuated Houqin to safety, the virus had spread throughout her entire body at this point.

A simple limb replacent wasn’t going to work. I couldn’t just replace her entire body and her head.

She wouldn’t be the sa person at that point. It was also just too risky. Left with no other option, I called Tianci."
