Now reading: Chapter 780: The 3rd Mid-Autumn Festival from Zombie Apocalypse: Creation, a Action novel by IPI.

As the next three days flew by, Tianci had recovered from the red dot. However, rather than going back to her lab, Leyan forced her to go through ’labor training.’

By labor training, it was preparation for her childbirth, which ca as a shock to everyone until they rembered Tianci had been manipulating her body.

Outside of the looming baby due, Xiaoyun’s life was seemingly back on track.

There was no ergency or any particular big problem on the administrative front as the resettlent program went smoothly in Dongguan and Shenzhen.

On the military front, everything operated relatively smoothly.

Although the progress had halted slightly, it wasn’t due to incompetence or a new kind of zombie attack.

Rather, it was due to an upcoming holiday over the weekend. One that had beco a bump on the road for Xiaoyun for a different reason.

It was the mid-autumn festival. More specifically, the third mid-autumn festival since the start of the outbreak.

Luoping didn’t have anything planned for this year, as both Yuqi and Xiaoyun ca to an agreent to let private individuals celebrate it in their own ways.

They also didn’t want to waste money on sothing that the private sector had already planned out, not to ntion the size required to et everyone.

Unfortunately, this was not what was causing the issue for Xiaoyun. Instead, it was an order from Leyan and his wives.

They had explicitly ordered him to bring Houqin over on Saturday, despite Houqin herself already stating to him that she was going to visit her parents.

As he drove out of the house early in the morning, he needed to co up with sothing that fulfilled both demands.

What was the solution? It was a simple and genius plan. One that required him to first drive to Houqin’s place before anything.

---

"This was the idea you ca up with?"

Leyan questioned as she pulled Xiaoyun over into the kitchen, unable to believe the three people sitting on the sofa.

"Isn’t it genius? Co on, you can’t expect to let Houqin’s parents spend their mid-autumn festival alone."

The argunt made her fall into silence as the thought of herself spending the Mid-Autumn Festival alone popped into her head.

"That’s beside the point. You could have at least called beforehand. I didn’t even prepare extra food for them."

"I can just make it on the spot. It’s not that big of a deal... Co on, let’s go et up with them."

As the two of them walked back to the living room, all of his wives were already talking to Houqin’s parents.

"Mr.Governor, you really surprise us at every corner."

Houqin’s mother’s comnt was only t with a smile, as Xiaoyun didn’t know what to say in response to such a question.

"Miss Liu, is it really true that Houqin never had a boyfriend before?" Nami curiously asked.

"Of course, she never had one. Or else why would she be naive enough to fall in love with soone that... already have multiple kids."

As Houqin’s mother looked over to the kids running around over on the other side of the living room, a hint of disapproval appeared on her face.

"Ahem, sorry to ask this, my son-in-law. Is everyone here married to you?"

Hearing Houqin’s father calling him son-in-law surprised Xiaoyun, but he slowly nodded his head as an answer.

"There’s no way you’re married to all of them. Both of them look way too young to marry anybody."

Houqin’s mother comnted as she looked over to Nami and Lily, who looked more like high schoolers if stretching it far enough.

"I’m already twenty years old." Nami imdiately pointed out after feeling a little insulted by her comnt.

"I-I’m already eighteen," Lily added next, her face blushing a little as she shyly looked down at the floor.

"Ahem, let’s all go eat breakfast. The three of you must be hungry. We had been cooking since yesterday for this."

Xiaoyun quickly intervened, ending the conversation as they all got up to walk towards the kitchen.

"Xuanhua, co to mommy."

As a baby quickly crawled over to Nami, both Houqin and her mother flinched a little before continuing to walk towards the kitchen.

"I’m not sure what you guys might like, so I cooked all kinds of breakfast food," Xiaoyun comnted as he brought three extra chairs for them.

"This is so much food... You cooked all these?"

Houqin’s father asked, his face looking genuinely shocked by the variety of breakfast food on the table.

"Leyan helped a little... You guys don’t have to wait for . I still need to bring a few more dishes from the kitchen."

Everyone finally started eating the food on the table as Xiaoyun carried three extra bowls of tangyuan for Houqin and her parents.

"Houqin, you like the food?" Xiaoyun asked, taking a seat right next to her before eating a spoonful of the tangyuan himself.

"I like it..."

As Houqin spoke up, Xiaoyun could feel sothing was bothering her mind. Still, he didn’t press her on the spot.

"Sister Leyan, can I ask how many kids you have?" Houqin’s mother curiously asked as she noticed the baby sitting in her arms.

"I only have four. Yuqi is my oldest, followed by Yueyue and Nami. The youngest being my son Yongyi."

All three of them smiled as Houqin introduced them one by one, before Xiaoyun quickly chid in to introduce the rest.

"Ahem, this is Wuli, and this is Shuli. This is Tianci and Lily, and this is Kate and Anna..."

As all of them smiled towards Houqin’s parents, the one who instantly stood out to them was the silver-haired girl.

"Tianci’s hair is born white," Xiaoyun answered, making up an excuse on the spot as he noticed their stare towards her.

"I had only seen that on the news before."

Houqin’s father murmured as he didn’t look too much into it, turning his attention back to the food as if he was scared her wife was going to get mad.

"She had gotten that a lot. I was thinking the sa when I first saw her... If you guys want extra, I have more in the pot."

"We’re good."

---

As morning breakfast quickly flew by, Houqin and her parents started delving deeper and deeper into Xiaoyun’s family.

From the beginning to the end, it was a one-sided conversation with everyone answering an endless number of questions from Houqin’s mother.

The only ti they got a chance to ask a question was from Leyan, who asked them about their experience before the outbreak.

To everyone’s surprise, it turned out Houqin’s whole family was all forr governnt employees in Beijing.

Even Houqin was a governnt clerk, passing all the difficult exams and making it to a governnt job out of millions of people.

What was crazier to Xiaoyun’s family, however, was the fact that Houqin’s parents had just gotten off the plane to Wuhan when the outbreak happened.

They had been planning this family vacation for a long ti, and their daughter was supposed to et up with them a day later.

Both fortunate and unfortunate, the flight Houqin took was redirected to Guangzhou, trapping her in a city that she had never visited in her life.

If it weren’t for Yiming’s rescuing team coming to the hotel she was in, she would have long starved to death.

"Speaking of the outbreak. Sorry if this sounds a little rude for to ask. But how did the governnt respond in Wuhan?" Leyan curiously asked.

"Response? They just told everyone to stay indoors and that everything was going to be sorted out." Houqin’s father grumpily comnted.

"They happened to rescue us from the hotel we were staying at... Stop being so negative towards those who saved us."

As Houqin’s mother argued, Xiaoyun noticed a clear divide between them. Sothing that was enough for Houqin’s father to refuse to back down.

"Actually, how was your guy’s experience while in Wuhan? It seems like a lot of people refuse to talk about it when I ask them."

This ti, both Houqin’s father and mother fell into silence. Neither of them wanted to speak up, as if Xiaoyun had asked sothing taboo.

"It was a bad ti. It wasn’t because of the governnt or anything. It was just a bad ti." Houqin’s father murmured.

"We don’t want to talk about it."

"That’s fine... Oh, I almost forgot, you guys haven’t even been in the backyard. Can you guys bring the two of them around the house for a bit?"

The sudden request caught everyone by surprise, but his wives didn’t reject it as they guided Houqin’s parents over to the kitchen.

"Xiaoyun, what do you want to ask ?"

Houqin questioned, her face filled with curiosity as she couldn’t understand the need to send everyone out.

"Houqin, have your parents told you what they went through in Wuhan? I know this question might be a little intrusive, but it’s really important."

As Xiaoyun stared right into Houqin’s eye, she remained silent until she finally couldn’t endure it any longer.
