"Lily! Here!"

As Xiaoyun waved his hand, almost every single person leaving the school turned towards him for a second before looking away uninterested.

In the distance, he could see Lily’s face blushing red as she quickly walked through the crowds, stopping right by the passenger side of the car.

"You don’t have to yell out loud like that. U-Unlock the door."

"How was your school today?"

Xiaoyun asked as he took off his sunglasses, taking his ti walking over to the other side to open the door for her.

"It was fine. Thank you."

With Lily in her seat, Xiaoyun quickly headed back over to the driver’s side after noticing several students starting to stare at his face.

"Did you make any friends on your first day of school?"

Xiaoyun asked as he started up the car engine, closing the car windows to block off all the outside noises.

"Stop making sound like a kid. And who makes friends on the first day of their uni, talking to strangers?"

"I guess you’re right."

As the engine started up, Xiaoyun floored the pedal as he began to notice several of the students starting to walk up behind his car.

He could faintly hear a na being called as he sped off into the distance, sothing that sounded like his na.

"You okay?" Xiaoyun asked as he noticed the sudden, stressful look on her face appearing out of nowhere.

"I’m fine... Hey, Brother Xiaoyun, what major were you when you were in university?"

"Originally, it was physics, but then I transferred into Business Managent," Xiaoyun answered.

"Wait, you had physics too?"

"Yeah. But then I transferred out of it in my first sester... Don’t be like , though. I only transfer out of it on a whim."

Lily slowly nodded her head, not asking any further despite her face showing full of curiosity.

"Do you want to know why I changed to business?"

Lily once again nodded her head, much faster this ti, as she waited for him to give his answer.

"A teor in the sky changed my mind."

"A teor?"

The answer only confused Lily more than ever, as she couldn’t connect how transferring from physics to business has to do with teor at all.

"I don’t know how to explain it either. But I saw a teor flying right when I was in my first sester.

My brain just told to get out of physics... Or maybe because I just didn’t know what I wanted to do in life."

As Xiaoyun’s eyes zoned out a little, thinking about the past, the car slowly ca to a stop as it reached a red light.

"Now I think about it, maybe it was a sign from Uncle Li."

"Who’s Uncle Li?" Lily curiously asked.

"A stubborn old man... Anyway, how were your professors? Were they easy to understand or were they boring?"

"They are okay, I guess. I feel like so of the professors were just reading stuff off the textbook, and that’s it."

"Well, you’re taking an entry-level class."

The car soon fell into silence as neither of them had anything to say for the rest of the car ride.

---

"Welco back!"

"Hey. How was your trip to Huayi’s house today?"

Xiaoyun asked as Leyan helped take off his jacket to the coat hanger before sitting down on the sofa.

"It was very nice. Lily, how was your first day?"

"It went pretty alright. I’m going back to my room to study for tomorrow’s material. Call when we’re eating dinner."

As Lily headed over to the guest hallway, Leyan looked over to Xiaoyun for a second before sitting down next to him.

"You didn’t do anything wrong, right?"

"Why are you assuming that?" Xiaoyun questioned back.

"Lily just left without even giving a hug. You must have done sothing to make her annoyed or sothing."

"Or maybe she’s just busy with schoolwork. You’re overthinking it, babe."

"I hope so... Anyway, how was work today? You didn’t have much to do?"

"You could say that. Where is everyone? Are they still not back from work yet?"

Xiaoyun asked as he looked over to the clock, which showed the ti to be already six o’clock.

"All of them are busy with their own stuff... Yuqi and Wuli both said they aren’t coming back ho today."

Leyan’s answer didn’t surprise him in the slightest, as he already knew where the two of them had been earlier in the morning.

"How about Nami and Kate?"

"Nami is attending her night classes and Kate... She said she’s coming ho late with Anna today."

"So just us, huh."

"Yeah... Everyone seems to be suddenly so busy all of a sudden. They all have their own things to do."

"Perfect ti for the two of us to retire, wouldn’t it?" Xiaoyun jokingly said out loud as he leaned back onto the sofa.

"As if you’re going to quit your job as the governor."

"Hehe..."

Xiaoyun didn’t answer Leyan’s complaint as the two of them sat on the living room sofa in silence.

After sitting for a bit, sothing suddenly popped into his mind. One that made the living room feel emptier than usual.

"Where are all the babies?"

"Taking an afternoon nap in their room. They should be waking up soon... Hey, Honey, did you clean up the backyard today?"

"You noticed the leaves?"

"Of course I did. I was actually planning to clean it up over the weekend if I didn’t forget about it."

"Sobody should be saying thank you then?"

"You wish."

As Leyan gently pushed his arm a little, her phone suddenly started ringing before she could move closer to his body.

"Looks like the babies are awake."

"You’re lucky this ti. Mind helping carry them out? Or do you want to go cook dinner for today?"

"I’ll go cook."

With her heading over to the guest hallway, Xiaoyun headed over to the kitchen as he rolled up his sleeve.

"What should I cook today..."

---

When everyone was at the dining table, it was much quieter than usual as both Yuqi and Wuli were out of the house.

"Where’s Yuqi and Wuli?"

Nami curiously asked as she took a seat right next to Xiaoyun after getting a bowl of rice from the rice cooker.

"They are busy with work. Probably be back by tomorrow." Leyan answered as she picked up her chopstick.

"Shuli, how’s the school going so far?" Kate curiously asked as she picked up a small piece of fish.

"Pretty good. Everything is working as intended... Except for the air conditioning. Still having so issues with so of the units."

"Good thing it’s getting colder. You won’t be needing it soon anyway." Leyan comnted next.

"Yeah... Hey Leyan, did Wenwen behave well today?" Shuli asked back.

"She’s been behaving very well. Just a little quieter than the others, though, nothing out of the ordinary."

"How about the others?" Xiaoyun curiously asked.

"No different, they seem a little quieter when they’re outside."

Leyan paused for a second, then continued.

"Oh, almost forgot to ntion. We ran out of milk. You guys are going to need to stockpile more later for the next few days."

Within seconds, Xiaoyun could notice the tired look on their faces, almost as if none of them wanted to do it at all.

"Again? Didn’t we do this like two days ago?" Shuli complained.

"It should be every day if it wasn’t for making it up for you guys. Lily and Xiaoyun, can you guys watch over the baby later?"

"No problem."

"Sure."

Seeing both of them accepting it, Leyan looked a little relieved. But at the sa ti, a frown suddenly appeared on Tianci’s face.

"You okay?" Anna curiously asked, noticing it first.

"I’m fine——Ouch!"

"Are you sure you’re fine?" Xiaoyun asked this ti, his face looking concerned as he got up from his chair.

"I’m fine. It’s just the baby kicking my stomach."

"Speaking of baby, Tianci, you’re supposed to be in labor soon, right?" Nami suddenly asked.

"Yeah."

"Tianci, why did you go to work again? Didn’t I told you to stop working when your labor is due next month?"

As Leyan repeated the sa warning ssage for who knows how many tis, Tianci only nodded her head in silence.

"Xiaoyun, say sothing. You can’t have her working in the lab when she’s so close to labor."

"Leyan is right. You really need to be taking more of a break... You can’t afford anything going wrong at such a critical ti."

"Fine. I’ll make a phone call tomorrow... I’ll cut back my ti in the lab."

With Tianci willing to make so concession, Leyan looked much more cheerful as she started eating the food with joy.

"Sister Nami, how were your night classes?" Lily quietly asked.

"It’s okay. Most of the stuff was just things I had already learnt. But hopefully it gets more challenging as days go on."

"How about you, Yueyue? How was your teaching experience today?" Kate suddenly asked as everyone’s attention turned towards her.

"Um... It was pretty nerve-wracking. Probably the last ti I’m going on stage to teach people in front of a classroom."

"That’s a sha. You could be such a great teacher." Shuli comnted as she looked back at her with a genuine face.

"I’m good."
