Talia closed her eyes tightly. Her heart sank into despair.
Then suddenly, a soft chuckle filled the garage.
The n froze. Slowly, they turned toward the sound.
Their jaws dropped.
It was Ivy. She had opened her eyes, and she sat there calmly, staring at them with a relaxed gaze.
Scarface blinked in surprise, then barked a laugh. "Well, well. Sleeping Beauty finally woke up."
Another man jeered. "What’s wrong, girl? Sad because we ignored you?"
Ivy tilted her head slightly and gave a small nod. "Yes. Why only her? Shouldn’t you look at too? After all, I am more beautiful than she is."
The n were stunned for a mont before bursting into laughter.
"Hear that? She thinks she’s prettier!"
"Ha! What a confident brat!"
Talia’s eyes widened in shock. "Ivy, no! Don’t!"
She understood that Ivy was trying to distract them and prevent them from doing anything to Talia.
However, if anything happened to Ivy because of Talia, Talia would never be able to forgive herself. Hence, she shook her head rapidly.
But Ivy ignored her, keeping her calm smile.
Scarface grinned and leaned closer. "So you want attention, too, huh? Don’t worry, we’ll give you plenty."
Ivy’s voice turned cold. "Not just that. Compared to her, I am also stronger. More powerful. And I promise you one thing. I will kill every single one of you with my own hands."
The laughter stopped. The air in the garage grew heavy.
"What did you say?" one man growled.
"You little bitch," another hissed. "You dare say that to us? Just wait and see how we will deal with you!"
Fury spread across their faces. One of the n rushed forward, hand raised high to slap her.
But before the strike could land, Ivy’s body blurred and vanished.
The chair stayed in place, but she was gone.
For a few seconds, silence filled the garage.
"What the hell?"
"Where did she go?"
"Teleportation? Did she... teleport?"
"Why did our information not state that she has the teleportation superpower?"
Scarface’s eyes narrowed. "No. Impossible. The information we have says she only has intelligence powers, not teleportation."
Others nodded. "That’s right. She has no such ability."
Talia sat frozen, her mind spinning. ’Freya’s information said the sa... Ivy only had intelligence. So how did she do that? Did she hide her second power all this ti? If so... she’s smarter than all of us.’
But before she could think more, one of the n spat on the ground. "Forget her. She ran away. Our real target is this one." He jabbed his finger toward Talia.
Scarface nodded. "Yeah. Don’t waste ti. The girl’s not worth chasing. Focus on the prize."
All eyes turned back to Talia. Her heart raced in terror. She pulled against the ropes again, her wrists bleeding.
’Good. At least Ivy escaped. She is safe. That’s all that matters. Even if I...’
Suddenly, a flash of light flickered in the corner of the garage. A soft chuckle followed.
"I was waiting for you all to notice . But you still want to focus on her? How boring."
Everyone whipped their heads around.
Their eyes widened.
Ivy stood there again, her arms crossed, her eyes sharp.
This ti, she wasn’t bound. She stood freely, her gaze piercing each of them.
"What the..." one of the n muttered.
Another cursed loudly. "No way... she ca back?!"
Scarface’s face darkened. "You witch... you think you can play gas with us?"
Ivy’s lips curved into a cold smile. "Play? No. This is no ga. You all chose the wrong target tonight."
One of the n roared and charged at her, raising his fist. "I won’t let a bitch ruin my plan!"
His heavy steps echoed through the garage as he lunged straight at her.
Talia’s eyes widened. Her heart pounded. ’Ivy... what are you doing? Why co back? Run! Please, just run!’
But Ivy didn’t move. She stood there, calm and still, her eyes never leaving the charging man.
The man charged at Ivy with a roar, his fist swinging like a hamr.
But Ivy’s body moved fast, faster than their eyes could follow. She bent low, dodging the punch, and her knee slamd into his stomach.
"Urgh!" The man gasped, spit flying from his mouth as he crumpled to the ground.
The others shouted in anger. "Get her!"
Two more rushed at Ivy from both sides. She twisted her body, her feet sliding into a solid stance.
The first man swung wildly, but she caught his arm, pulled him forward, and slamd her elbow into his jaw. A sharp crack echoed, and he dropped like a stone.
The second man tried to grab her from behind, but Ivy leaned back, slamd her head into his nose, and followed with a kick to his knee. He scread, falling down, clutching his broken leg.
Scarface’s face twisted with fury. "Kill her!"
The man charged at Ivy with a roar, his fist swinging like a hamr.
