Silas pursed his lips before calmly putting away the bowl and plate. His silence was his answer.

’No! Ivy! What are you thinking? You need to focus! You still haven’t punished those people!’
Just as she was about to leave, she paused,
"Silas, can you call your second uncle and give the phone?"
Silas blinked, a bit taken aback by the sudden request,
"Can I ask why?"
Ivy bit her lips. Silas had one uncle nad Stephen. Just like Silas’s father, Dante, Stephen too joined the military.
The tragic fate was... both of them died protecting their soldiers.
Dante lived 6 more years before dying, while Stephen died just after 2 days of Power Rain.
After Stephen’s death, Silas cried for the first ti in his entire life; his condition was so bad that Ivy’s mind was imprinted by that scene.
Though Ivy didn’t know the full details about Stephen’s death, a vague picture should be enough to warn Stephen.
"I want to warn him about sothing," Ivy said honestly.
Silas’s eyes flashed with a glint, but he decided to give Ivy her space and didn’t continue to ask.
Instead, he took out his phone and gave it to Ivy.
Ivy released the breath that she didn’t even know she was holding and dialed Stephen’s number.
Soon, the call was connected, and Stephen’s warm, yet cheerful voice sounded,
"Silas? Your mind is in sync with mine. I was just talking about you."
"Uncle Stephen... It’s . Ivy." Ivy interrupted.
Since Silas started to show extra concern for her, everyone in Silas’s family investigated her.
It was only after Silas’s death in her previous life did Ivy ca to know that the second uncle’s family had secretly bought a villa under her na.
Alas, the apocalypse arrived; otherwise, just by renting the villa, Ivy could have lived a peaceful life.
They respected Silas’s choice, and the gift was their support for Silas.
"Ivy? Did sothing happen to Silas? Why are you the one picking up the call? Or did soone bully you? Do you need my help?" Concern was evident in Stephen’s voice.
"No. He is alright and I am fine too. I just wanted to warn you to decline the mission of going on a night patrol near the suburbs tomorrow." Ivy’s voice was filled with haste.
Stephen, confused by those strange words, asked,
"What mission? I haven’t received such a mission..."
"You will," Ivy said with certainty, "Your colleagues will feign having a family ergency, and the task will fall on you; you have to decline it at all costs. And if you should, take the most advanced weapons with you and stay away from trees! If you hear a slithering sound, run away at any cost."
There was a pause on the other end. Ivy could almost picture Stephen’s face, brows drawn together, lips pressed into a thin line as he tried to make sense of her urgent, cryptic warning.
"Ivy..." Stephen’s voice softened, the warmth never leaving, but now laced with worry.
"What’s going on? Why are you saying this? Did sothing happen? Did Silas tell you sothing?"
"No," Ivy replied quickly, gripping the phone tighter. Her heart pounded in her chest.
"Silas doesn’t know. Just, please, Uncle Stephen. Trust . Even if it sounds insane, even if it makes no sense... promise you’ll stay cautious tomorrow night. Promise you’ll rember what I said."
Silence.
Then, a small sigh echoed through the speaker, as if Stephen was debating whether to humor her or press for answers.
Finally, his voice ca, steady and kind.
"Alright, Ivy. I don’t know what’s going on, but I promise. I’ll be careful. I won’t let my guard down."
Relief flooded through Ivy’s body. She closed her eyes for a mont, her shoulders sagging as the tension lted away.
"Thank you..." she whispered.
"I’ll check in on you and Silas tomorrow. Take care, alright?" Stephen added gently.
"Okay." Ivy nodded, though he couldn’t see it, before ending the call.
When she looked up, Silas was watching her, quiet and thoughtful. He didn’t ask. He didn’t need to.
And for that, Ivy was grateful.
She left the room, leaving thousands of questions in Silas’s mind.
He can see... Ivy has changed a lot. She even has a mysterious power. First, her sharpened skills in shooting and instincts, second, the mysterious space, knocking him and his teammates, then the materialization of food, her strange behavior, followed by strange advice.
As for the Ravencroft family? Silas knew that maybe they misunderstood Ivy’s actions.
When he found Ivy, she was lying on the floor. If what the Ravencroft family was saying was the truth, then why would Ivy be unconscious?
Why did she knock out his teammate and his family to take sleeping pills?
Maybe she was trying to protect them from sothing...
And his doubts were confird by Ivy’s words today. Clearly, she either knows the future or can predict the future.
’Whatever it is... I need to protect her.’ Silas thought. Just as he thought so Stephen called.
Once the call was connected, Stephen remained silent, and it was Silas who broke the silence first,
"Uncle, it’s ."
"Silas? Good. Is the phone on speaker?" Stephen’s warm and steady voice echoed in the quiet room.
"No."
"Good, Silas, I think Ivy may have PTSD. She was..."
"She was not speaking nonsense." Silas interpreted Stephen. His voice was cold as he calmly analysed, "You might not believe this, uncle, but whatever Ivy had said till now has co true. Take her words seriously."
There was also a bit of displeasure in his voice. It was clear that he was offended by Stephen’s words.
Stephen: (ᵕ—ᴗ—) Good son! Good!
"Yes. Yes. I understood. I was the wrong one. Your wife is the correct one! Truly, kids nowadays... they are so protective of their girlfriend. Eh? Silas, I will call you back later, my superior is calling ."
Silas’s body tensed. Was Ivy’s prediction going to co true?
