But he took a deep breath, composed himself, and managed to respond, "We’re going to my house."
Ivy’s face fell slightly. She had imagined they might go sowhere outdoors... sowhere that resembled how dates used to be before the apocalypse stole normalcy away... but she forced herself to accept it.
’It’s still fine,’ she thought, pushing away her disappointnt.
To say Ivy didn’t have so expectation for her date would be a lie. She regretted not saying yes to Silas before the apocalypse.
Maybe then... they might have the chance to have a normal date... like watching movies and having lunch... sigh... it could only be a dream now!
When they arrived at Silas’s house and stepped inside, Ivy imdiately noticed the darkness blanketing every corner.
She blinked in confusion. Just as she began wondering what on earth was going on, Silas gently guided her into the living room... only for Ivy to freeze in astonishnt.
At so point, he had transford the entire room into what looked like a small movie theater.
Rows of seats, a makeshift projector screen, soft lights glimring in the corners... everything looked almost magical in this bleak world.
She turned to him with wide eyes, and Silas chuckled softly. "I know you’ve always wanted to go on a normal date," he said.
"Sothing like what couples used to do before the apocalypse. You only gave your answer after the world ended, but that doesn’t an we have to miss every chance. So I recreated so places for you... just so you could enjoy today fully."
Hearing that, Ivy’s heart tightened with emotion. She was pulled into a comfortable chair, her eyes burning slightly as she thought,
’He did all this... for .’ It had been so long since she had stepped inside a theater... especially after surviving a decade of hell in her previous life.
Even now, in this life, she barely had ti for anything other than managing the base. This mont, this simple normalcy he tried to give her, felt unbelievably precious.
The movie he chose was a classic love story, one where the hero and heroine kept missing each other because of misunderstandings but eventually found their way back and got married.
Ivy clicked her tongue lightly. "The female lead is so stupid," she muttered.
But halfway through saying it, her face stiffened in realization. ’Wait... I’m exactly like her. I’ve misunderstood things so many tis.’ Her cheeks ward in embarrassnt.
Silas chuckled and leaned forward to press a soft kiss on her lips before whispering, "The next stage is ready. Let’s go."
Before she could even ask what he ant, Silas pulled her up from her seat, and the next mont, they were at Ember’s house, which, to Ivy’s utter shock, had been transford into an imitation of a high-end restaurant.
The decorations were sowhat flimsy, but the atmosphere felt strangely authentic, as though she had truly stepped into a warm, candlelit dining place.
Silas guided her to a table, one that was, in truth, the only table in the entire "restaurant."
To make matters even more unbelievable, the waiters were none other than Kael and Felix, both of whom were wearing makeshift uniforms.
Ivy blinked, speechless, when Felix approached with a professional air and asked, "Good afternoon, sir and ma’am. What would you like to order today?"He even handed over a hand-drawn nu.
Ivy couldn’t help but laugh softly. Only now did she fully realize how much effort Silas and her siblings had put into this.
And it also explained why her siblings had insisted earlier that she either delay her own plans or finish them before today; they must have known what Silas was planning for her.
She opened the nu and imdiately recognized the childish yet beautiful handwriting, it was clearly Ember’s work.
For a mont, she wondered where Ember was hiding, but she decided not to look around and spoil the surprise.
She simply ordered a steak, even though she fully expected that at should be far too rare in the apocalypse for such a dish.
But Felix only smiled knowingly. "Your order will be ready in a few minutes," he said.
Silas ordered his own al as well, and to Ivy’s utter shock, the food arrived within five minutes.
She stared, wide-eyed, wondering if they had so kind of advanced cooking machine.
What she didn’t know was that Silas had prepared everything the day before and hired an ice-type superhuman to freeze the dishes in a special storage cellar... an expensive service, but Silas had paid without hesitation, all for the sake of her happiness.
Ivy tasted the steak and instantly recognized the flavor.
’This is Silas’s cooking,’ she thought with a warm smile.
After all, she knew better than anyone what Silas could and couldn’t make, and she had eaten his food enough tis to distinguish it easily.
After finishing her al and patting her stomach in satisfaction, she looked up at Felix and asked for the bill, deciding to fully play along with their restaurant act.
Honestly, she was having far more fun than she expected.
Felix grinned mischievously and said, "Since you are paying the bill, we will give you a discount. You had to spend the day alone with ."
Ivy laughed imdiately, and at that mont, Ember popped out from behind one of the decorated walls and declared, "As a tip, you owe an entire day alone too!"
Kael rolled his eyes dramatically but stepped forward and added, " I played a huge part in this, so I deserve a reward as well."
Ivy burst into laughter at their childish antics. "Fine, fine. I’ll pay the bill in EMIs," she joked.
Her siblings’ faces lit up with bright smiles, and they turned to give Silas a big thumbs-up... while Silas stood there with a calm, confident smile.
After all, he had managed to recruit Ivy’s siblings into his elaborate date plan only because he knew exactly what kind of "reward" would tempt them.
After lunch was over, Ivy had fully expected Silas to take her to his room and start sothing intimate, especially considering the warmth in his eyes earlier.
Instead, Silas suddenly stood, asked her to rise as well, and then gently blindfolded her.
