But Martha stopped, pointed her finger at him, and said,
"I’ve endured you till now because of Ember and Ivy. But if you continue to question , threaten , or even think of showing a cold face, I won’t hesitate to slap you."
With that, she walked away. Though she appeared confident, she felt painfully lonely inside, and she even felt like crying.
After all, it was much harder to accept that she had thought she had given up on him long ago... when in reality, she still couldn’t get over him.
She was truly hurt by his cold behavior and the comnts that were directed at her, and hence she said those cold words to him.
But now, after saying those words, she knew that her chances of getting together with her crush were almost close to zero.
She tried her best to wear the mask of confidence, but from Kael’s perspective, he only understood one thing... and that was ga over.
Kael thought, ’Martha doesn’t like at all... maybe she hates enough that she doesn’t even want to see .’
In an instant, his eyes turned red, and he stood there as if soone had told him to beco a statue.
anwhile, a day passed, and since everyone was busy preparing for Silas’s proposal to Ivy, no one particularly paid attention to Kael.
Now, watching his sister being kissed by Silas, Cale held only one emotion... ’Maybe I should ask Silas for advice once this proposal is over.’
Silas parted from Ivy and hugged her, saying, "Now we should have a grand wedding."
Ivy agreed with him. A long ti had passed, and they had never held any kind of celebration before.
Thinking about the pitiful variety of food she always received, Ivy thought about how she could now control her power and said, "Let’s hold the celebration twenty days later."
Silas frowned and said, "Twenty days later, the extre heat will hit in full swing."
Ivy nodded. "I know. But by then I’ll be able to get all the items I want using my power. Maybe the remaining vegetables... eggplants, sweet potatoes, broccoli, bok choy, lettuce, and others that have been missing... will be available by then. Then we can conduct a huge banquet or a small wedding ceremony at our ho. By then, my temporal storage will be upgraded too."
They were whispering, and not many people could hear what was being discussed.
Silas thought about it and nodded. It was just twenty days. He could wait.
On the twenty-first day, he would finally be able to beco one with his wife.
The mont he imagined the excitent waiting for him after twenty days, Silas was thrilled and imdiately nodded, becoming obedient toward his wife.
After the celebration was over, Ivy and Silas left and returned to their ho.
Once they arrived, Ivy was captured by Silas, who pinned her against the wall and was about to lean toward her when Ivy stopped him and said,
"I think my power is about to activate."
Silas felt helpless. Sotis he truly believed that Ivy’s superpower wanted to prevent them from becoming one.
’Why does it always activate whenever we get intimate?’ he wondered. But he obediently stepped back, and Ivy followed her instinct.
Soon she arrived in a relatively newer area of the base, far from everyone’s sight. Ivy’s eyes fell on an empty area, and sure enough, she saw a 25-minute tir.
This ti, the vegetable she received was radish, and Ivy couldn’t help but spot various kinds of radishes: purple radish, daikon radish, black radish, breakfast radish, hailstone radish, Spanish black radish, round green radish, at radish, Easter radish, white radish, early scarlet radish, globe radish, and many more.
She started picking them up. Each was in a plastic bag with different weights... 250 grams, 300 grams, etc. One by one, she picked them up and muttered, "Put it in the temporal stage."
As ti passed, she picked up as many as she could; however, more than one-third remained.
Only then did Ivy realize that even though her power and speed had increased and she had been given a full 25 minutes she still couldn’t pick up all the radishes.
Maybe her power had upgraded, but so had the range. Now at least twenty kiloters ahead of her were filled with packets, and because of her speed, she couldn’t collect them all.
She managed to pick up almost five to fifteen kiloters’ worth, yet new packets kept appearing where she had already been.
Ivy complained, "My power upgraded, but I still can’t pick up everything..."
She wondered what the next upgrade would give her. dicines had already been registered, and there were various kinds that Ivy had requested, but she hadn’t experinted much with them yet and didn’t know how many of them would be fulfilled by her powers.
Not to ntion, clothing and fabric were also missing. She wondered if her power would one day allow her to pick up clothes, cotton, fabric, and more.
As Ivy was lost in her thoughts, soone patted her shoulder.
Startled, she turned around and saw a relatively famous woman... Jenna.
For the first ti, Ivy was stunned. She knew this woman. In fact, almost everyone on their planet knew her. Jenna was one of the most famous singers.
The mont Ivy saw her, she smiled and asked, "Is there anything I can do for you?"
Jenna smiled back and said, "We were just passing by. You looked lost in thought, so we thought of approaching you."
Hearing those words, Ivy smiled and said, "I was just thinking about the base leader’s orders."
Jenna nodded, her shoulder-length blonde hair and green eyes looking beautiful under the sun.
Originally, Ivy had planned that since she was providing this base with resources, she would one day open a research team capable of creating a zombie virus antidote.
Once that happened, their world would finally be free of the apocalypse.
And at that ti, the price of gold, real estate, silver, bitcoin, jewelry, rubies, diamonds, everything, would soar.
