With that, he bowed to Ivy. The other researchers started whispering,
"So this is Ivy? Huh? She is truly beautiful!"
"Her heart is even more beautiful. To think that she didn’t hold onto such information and passed it... shows how gentle she is!"
"Ah! I wish I had a daughter-in-law like her."
At the last comnt, both Silas and Freya glared at the woman who had made the comnt.
How outrageous!
Freya calmly adjusted her glasses and said,
"She can’t beco anyone else’s daughter-in-law."
She emphasized the word ’anyone else’.
Though she disagreed with his son’s choice and had her own fears, no one was allowed to snatch away the wife her son had worked so hard to woo!
Yup! It absolutely wasn’t because Ivy’s advice had moved her heart! She refused to admit it!
Silas felt proud of his mother and calmly lifted his hand, which was interlocked with Ivy’s, to scratch his eyebrows.
Martin: ("¬_¬) You brat, we can see that Ivy is yours!
Others: "( – ⌓ – ) Good! Good! The only food that can’t be extinct in an apocalypse is dog food!
Ivy was dumbfounded by the praise that was thrown in her way. Everything suddenly felt unrealistic.
"Miss Ivy, so can you help us?" Martin asked, his voice laced with a sincere plea.
Ivy paused before saying with a furrowed brow,
"I don’t know much. However, these hair color and eye color changes are happening due to a mutation in the DNA."
Ruby Bailey used her index finger to tuck the dium ash blonde hair strand behind her ears, her blue eyes stared at Ivy with uncertainty.
"Is it? However, the DNA composition hasn’t changed at all."
She was a senior researcher in Freya’s team.
"Indeed, I have tested it; however, the result yielded that the DNA of all the superhumans remained as it was earlier."
"Or is it your theory?"
Ivy knew they misunderstood her words and explained,
"I ant the genes containing the possible hair colors and eye colors we could have if not the current one was triggered during the superpower awakening."
Silence.
The atmosphere was so silent that even the sound of the fans sounded noisy.
Ivy swept a glance at the researcher who had fallen silent before pursing her lips. She doesn’t know if she said the right thing or not.
It was indeed a theory she had co up with in her previous life... However, the problem was... she never confird if her theory was correct or not.
"Eh? Why didn’t I think of it?" Martin muttered, and he scratched his head before continuing with the experints.
All the other researchers started to work.
Freya sighed and turned toward Ivy,
"There is sothing more that we need to ask."
At her question, the researchers, who were about to get lost in their work, paused and stared at Ivy like an eagle eyeing their prey.
Silas scowled and stood in front of Ivy, his overprotectiveness made few researchers chuckle, while few felt speechless.
Freya’s nose scrunched up,
"Boy, we aren’t going to eat her up. We just want to know about the superpower and why, after the rain, so were able to awaken a superpower while so didn’t."
Ivy patted Silas’s back and sidestepped, becoming visible to the group of researchers.
"Awakening of the superpower depends on various factors like endurance, strength, and potential. So people who are ntally strong will awaken powers related mind.
Like mind-reading, telekinesis, psychic, telepathy, etc. So people who have good strength awaken powers like Super speed, super strength, or super agility.
There are also so who will have both good strength as well as ntal capacity. They are likely to awaken elental powers."
The researchers noted down her words, one by one.
"Then, do you have any idea about how to strengthen the superpower?" Felix, with toffee brown hair and brown eyes, answered. He was an intern researcher, and his eyes were flashing with admiration as Ivy answered the questions that were haunting them.
’She is so intelligent and beautiful... if only I had t her before Silas...’
He was fascinated by Ivy’s calm poise. Her elegance shone brightly while her cold and mysterious aura attracted everyone’s attention.
Many of the researchers weren’t shallow; however, they accepted that Ivy’s beauty was a force to reckon with.
"They can do physical exercise, ditation, and use their superpowers in moderation daily till they completely empty out their energy.
You can think that the superpower is like a container which expands every ti it is emptied out and filled the next day.
I would suggest not trying the emptying thod, considering we currently don’t have any items to replenish the energy."
"You an to say that we might have an energy replenishing item in the future?" Avery questioned sharply.
Ivy stared at Avery before calmly answering,
"I don’t know. I just know a bit of ins and outs since my superpower is related to enhanced intelligence."
The group of researchers showed an enlightened expression. Now they understood why Ivy knew sothing they didn’t.
"Ah! I want to kidnap Ivy now! I love won who have good intelligence! They are so sexy!" One of the researchers muttered.
"I am so envious! Even I want enhanced intelligence!"
"God! If I could have that power, I would complete all the research in one day and sleep!"
"So you an to say, you have awakened a superpower even before the power rain?" Avery continued to press forward.
This ti, both Freya and Silas were displeased. They opened their mouth to defend Ivy; however, Ivy calmly interrupted and replied,
"I would prefer to say intuitions. Like the one you are having now. You are feeling that I have the answer to all of your questions."
Avery was astounded. Indeed, she was having that intuition.
But how did Ivy know?
As if sensing her question, Ivy smiled and replied in a calm voice,
"Congratulations, Avery, you have awakened a superpower. Enhanced Intelligence."
