"It’ll be better if we talk there."

Mia and Ava blinked, then shook their heads. "It’s better if others don’t know about our relationship," Mia said seriously.

Ivy looked at them, confused. "What do you an?"

So Mia and Ava told her the truth. By the ti they finished, Ivy was in complete shock.

In her previous life, from Ivy’s perspective, Mia, Ava, Grace, Lily, Caleb, and even Jas had shared an unbreakable bond.

They had been a team strong enough to rival top-tier players, their coordination nearly flawless. Yet in this life, everything had fallen apart the mont they entered the SiIvy Base.

Everyone had their own interests now.

And aside from Lily and Caleb, Grace and Jas had beco nothing but a disgrace.

"They shouldn’t be allowed to live in this base at all."

Mia and Ava shook their heads almost at the sa ti.

Ava let out a quiet sigh, the soft fabric of the couch brushing against her fingers as she leaned back.

"It’s better if we stay here," she said calmly. "Even if we have to pay more for things that ordinary people get for less during these wars."

Ivy couldn’t help but laugh, the sound light and amused.

"That’s not how a base works," she replied, shaking her head. Even so, she could clearly see the lingering distress in their eyes.

After a brief pause, she added gently, "Still, I understand how you feel. I’ll make sure to take extra good care of you both."

The mont those words reached Mia and Ava’s ears, they burst into laughter. "Then we’ll have to hug your golden thigh from now on," Mia joked shalessly.

Ivy laughed again, waving them off. "You two really know how to joke."

Soon, the trio arrived at the apartnt. The door slid shut behind them with a soft click, muffling the sounds of the base outside.

Once settled, Mia and Ava began recounting everything they had experienced since entering the base. Ivy listened quietly, her expression calm.

In her previous life, she had heard these sa stories countless tis. Mia and Ava used to tell her everything, and she had morized their experiences almost by heart.

However, this life was different. Their paths had diverged earlier, and it was only logical for Ivy to listen carefully and react as if she were hearing it all for the first ti.

As the conversation continued, Ava glanced at Ivy with a hesitant expression. Her fingers fidgeted against her sleeve before she finally spoke.

"There’s sothing I need your help with."

Ivy gestured for her to continue.

Ava hesitated again, then looked back briefly before saying,

"There’s a girl nad Lily. She was also part of our team. She’s really good... and she helped us a lot. It would be better if her background could be cleared."

Hearing that na, Ivy’s attention sharpened. She rembered Lily clearly.

Lily wasn’t as lively or enthusiastic as Mia and Ava, but she had always looked out for Ivy in her own quiet way.

If Mia and Ava’s care was warm and energetic, then Lily’s was steady and calm, like a silent wave that never drew attention to itself. She protected Ivy without ever saying a word.

Not like Grace.

Grace had always treated Ivy like a charity case, using her to gain sympathy and attention from boys.

In her previous life, the truth had never co out... that Caleb had liked Lily all along, and Grace had been the one to create misunderstandings between them.

’The butterfly effect really changed a lot this ti,’ Ivy thought.

With a faint smile, Ivy spoke calmly. "I’ll handle it."

The mont they heard her words, both Mia and Ava visibly relaxed, the tension draining from their shoulders.

Then Ava suddenly thought of sothing else. "Is there a way to mislead Grace about who you really are?"

Ivy blinked, montarily confused, before a smile slowly curved her lips. "Actually, yes. I have an expert who can pretend to be convincingly."

Mia and Ava’s eyes lit up with excitent as they imdiately shared their plan.

Ivy listened patiently, nodding from ti to ti. When they finished, she gave them a thumbs-up. "You two really know how to create chaos."

Mia and Ava blushed almost simultaneously. "We’re not that good," Ava muttered.

Ivy shook her head with a knowing smile. "I’ve already found a suitable job for you both. You just need to co and take the position."

Their eyes widened. "What position?" they asked eagerly.

"You’ll be my assistants."

They agreed without a mont of hesitation.

After chatting for a while longer, Mia and Ava finally left the apartnt. Ivy, on the other hand, headed straight to find Martha.

When she reached her, Ivy noticed that Martha was smiling, her cheeks faintly flushed, as if sothing good had happened.

Ivy’s thoughts imdiately drifted to her brother. ’Was it him?’ she wondered. ’At least he’s smart enough to make her smile.’

As Ivy approached, Martha quickly composed herself, her professional mask snapping back into place. She looked at Ivy calmly. "What can I do for you?"

"Two more people will be joining," Ivy replied evenly.

Martha frowned slightly. "Who are they joining for? And why wasn’t there an interview?"

Ivy narrowed her eyes just a little, her voice remaining calm. "There’s no need for an interview. They’re my best friends."

Martha fell silent. After a mont, she nodded.

Ivy studied her for a brief second before sitting down. Two hours later, Ivy left and returned to her residence.

The next day, Martha arrived at the office as usual. The mont she stepped inside, her face was filled with unease and sadness.

Arnold, who had clearly been waiting for her, imdiately noticed. "What happened?" he asked.

Martha looked at him with a complicated expression. "Ivy assigned two new people to work under ."

Arnold’s expression darkened instantly, anger flashing across his face. "What was Ivy thinking?" he snapped.

"You worked yourself to the bone to reach this position, and now she suddenly dumps two people into your team without even asking for your opinion? Isn’t that too selfish?"
