A wave of familiar warmth engulfed her, giving her a strange kind of assurance.

She coughed violently, gasping for breath as consciousness slowly returned.

Her vision cleared, and the first person she saw was Vlad.

The mont her eyes t his, they widened in disbelief.

Vlad imdiately knelt beside her, his expression filled with genuine worry.

"Raya, are you okay?" His voice, usually calm and composed, trembled slightly with concern.

Seeing the unmistakable fear and care in his eyes, Raya could no longer hold herself together.

She broke down into uncontrollable sobs.

Just monts ago, she had truly believed she would die.

She had thought she would never be given the chance to atone for her mistakes, never be able to seek forgiveness, and never be able to make things right.

Raya imdiately shouted with tears in her eyes.

"Brother... save ! I made a mistake! I shouldn’t have helped him! He had tempted ! Please kill him!"

The mont the superior being understood what was happening, he did not panic.

Instead, he remained silent and composed, his stillness unnervingly deliberate, as if he had been expecting such a developnt all along.

Silas glanced at the cloaked man for a second and muttered, "I have seen cowards before, but none quite like him."

Though it should have been a murmur, Silas’s words loudly echoed in the room.

No one responded. No one even dared to breathe loudly, as though any sound might shatter the fragile tension that had settled over the room.

The superior being arched a brow, as if he was impressed by Silas’s unspoken challenge.

He looked at Raya as if he was trying to find sothing; when he saw smugness, he stiffened slightly.

A hint of calculation flashed in his eyes.

The superior being slowly turned his gaze toward Silas and said,

"If I lift this now, then you, Silas, will no longer be able to bear to hear the truth."

Hearing those words, Silas laughed, though the sound carried a sharp edge. "There is nothing you can say that I cannot endure."

The superior being remained motionless before adding quietly,

"It has been a long ti since I last saw my son."

Silas blinked, confusion flashing across his face before he scoffed.

"Your tactics are misleading. I will admit, you are good. For a mont, I almost fell for it."

Silence followed. A suffocating, dreadful silence.

Then, slowly, the superior being lifted his hood.

The mont his face was revealed, Silas and Vlad were stunned into complete stillness.

Because the person standing there was none other than Silas himself.

No, to be precise, he looked exactly like Silas, as if a mirror had co to life, as if another Silas doppelganger had stepped out of reality.

Silas stared at him, his lips curling into a strange smile. ’So this is your ga.’

"If you possess the power to mold your face like this..." Silas began.

The cloaked man shook his head.

"This is not imitation. After all, you still carry my genes in you. Until now, you may have believed that Dante and Alice are your parents, but in truth... you are mine!"

He slowly turned his gaze toward Silas, studying him with unsettling intensity.

"You possess the potential to completely transform into a superior being, Silas, as long as you abandon your human DNA."

Silas’ eyes hardened, a cold glint forming within them.

"Whoever you are," Silas replied, his voice sharp as a blade, "if you continue to interfere with , I will make sure you understand exactly what regret ans."

The superior being fell silent for a mont before laughing softly. "Indeed... you truly are my son."

With that, he walked calmly toward a chair.

Silas imdiately shifted into a defensive stance, every muscle in his body tightening.

’He is dangerous. Far more dangerous than anything I have faced before.’

The next second, the superior being simply sat down and looked at him.

"I will tell you a story," he said.

Silas frowned. "I am not here to listen to stories."

He raised his hand, unleashing his psychic power.

Nothing happened.

Not even the slightest reaction.

Seeing this, Silas’ expression darkened.

Without hesitation, he summoned his thunder elent once again, the air crackling with electricity, the sll of ozone burning sharply in their lungs.

Yet the superior being remained completely unaffected.

He casually waved his hand, as though brushing away dust, his posture relaxed, almost bored, like an adult humoring a stubborn child.

"Have I not ntioned this already?" the superior being said calmly.

"All superior beings are immune to the elents wielded by humans. Your power is insignificant before us."

Silas’s eyes widened. "That is impossible. You are lying."

The superior was studying him with faint amusent.

"On the contrary, you possess hidden genes. I detected them the mont you arrived."

He leaned back slightly, as if delivering a lecture.

"There exists an attribute among superior beings. We are immune to human elents because humans are fundantally weaker. Your asly superpowers cannot threaten ours."

Silas clenched his fists, frustration surging through him.

"Even if that is true, why attack Ivy’s base in the first place? Why interfere with us at all?"

By now, Silas had already heard everything from Ivy.

He had co to one conclusion: these superior beings might originate from beneath the earth, from so underworld, perhaps even from beyond the universe itself.

Whatever the truth was, one thing was certain.

Humans could not survive against them.

Not when even the zombie virus appeared to be connected to their existence.

The superior being watched him, calculation flickering in his eyes, as if analyzing a specin rather than confronting an enemy.

"Do you know why you are here?" he asked.

The more he spoke, the more excitent crept into his expression. He suddenly stood up.

"If that is the case," he continued, "instead of destroying that half-superior hybrid, perhaps I should use one of them... to provoke His Highness."

The words sent a chill down the room.

Silas felt an ominous premonition crawling up his spine.
