After preparing the food for her, Silas carefully stored it inside his temporal storage, sealing it away so it would remain warm and untouched by ti.

The faint aroma of spices lingered briefly in the air before vanishing along with the container.

He then returned to his duties, sorting through various military matters that demanded his attention.

Reports, patrol adjustnts, resource allocations, he handled each one with chanical precision.

Yet when the work was finished, he found himself searching for other tasks, anything to keep himself occupied.

But his mind refused to stay still.

It kept drifting back to the superior being.

The more he thought about that encounter, the heavier the pressure inside his chest beca.

’I am still too weak.’

That realization gnawed at him relentlessly.

Without hesitation, he sat down and began cultivating again. Energy gathered around him, flowing like invisible currents brushing against his skin, cold and sharp, yet strangely invigorating.

He forced himself deeper into concentration, pushing his limits until ti slipped away unnoticed.

By the ti he finished, hours had passed.

Only then did he realize Ivy had not co out of her room.

A faint unease rose within him. He walked over to check on her, pushing the door open quietly.

The mont he saw her, his expression changed.

She was burning with fever.

Her face was flushed, strands of hair stuck to her damp forehead, and her breathing ca out uneven and weak.

At the sa ti, not far from the house, Jade stood watching the building.

He looked dazed.

The previous night, he had dreamt sothing vivid.... so vivid that it still lingered like an echo in his mind.

In that dream, he and Ivy had been bound together as soulmates. He did not understand why he felt this certainty, nor where it ca from, yet deep inside, an instinctive voice told him....

’Ivy is ant to be mine.’

That inexplicable pull had drawn him here, keeping him close to her, even when he himself could not explain why.

Inside, Silas had already begun treating Ivy.

At first, he administered dicine, but when her fever refused to subside, anxiety crept in. He imdiately summoned several healers.

As soon as they arrived, they began channeling healing energy into her body. Silas joined them, pouring his own power into her, carefully guiding it through her ridians.

Yet nothing changed.

The energy seed to vanish the mont it entered her, as if sothing was interfering.

The more Silas observed, the more worried he beca.

One day passed.

Then another.

For an entire week, Silas remained by Ivy’s side.

When her fever still did not go down, Helena, Kael, Ember, Felix, Alice, Victor, and Dante all grew alard.

They called in specialists, searched for doctors, and tried every possible thod.

No one could find the cause.

Sotis the fever dropped slightly, only to spike again without warning, as though an unseen force was influencing her condition.

Silas began to suspect sothing else.

’This cannot be an ordinary illness... could it be from overusing her power?’

He ordered the addition of zombie crystals from around her environnt, fearing residual energy might be affecting her.

It made no difference.

Her temperature remained dangerously high.

So he began docunting everything, every fluctuation, every hour, every small change.

Eventually, a pattern erged.

From nine in the morning until nine at night, her fever remained severe.

After nine at night, it would ease slightly.

Silas stared at the data, his mind racing.

’A ti-based influence? Sothing external?’

He began inspecting the base’s periter personally.

That was when he noticed it.

A suspicious figure lingering near the building every single day, from nine to nine.

A cold realization settled in Silas’s mind.

Without hesitation, he ordered the man to be detained.

The mont Jade was taken far away from Ivy, her fever began to drop.

When the distance increased even further, Ivy slowly started to regain consciousness.

Silas imdiately ensured Jade was moved to the farthest edge of the base under strict confinent.

When he learned the man’s identity, his suspicion deepened.

It was indeed Jade.

Silas approached him, eyes narrowing.

"What did you do to Ivy?"

Jade t his gaze calmly, though there was a strange intensity in his eyes.

"You do not deserve her," Jade replied. "She was ant to be mine from the beginning."

Silas smiled, but there was no warmth in it.

"Ivy has been mine since the mont she was born."

Jade chuckled as though he had just heard a ridiculous joke.

"Do you truly believe that?" he asked, his gaze sharpening. "Then you should reconsider. I can feel it... There is a link between us."

Silas frowned slightly.

"You really know how to overestimate yourself," he said calmly. "Sneaking around like this... just like your father."

Jade did not react angrily. Instead, he spoke with quiet certainty.

"I am not lying. If you do not believe ... go ahead. Punch ."

He held Silas’s gaze steadily.

"And watch how Ivy reacts."

Silas’s frown deepened.

He asked, "What exactly do you an, Jade?"

Jade only smiled.

By now, Silas was convinced that this was nothing but nonsense.

’He is trying to save himself from punishnt; he knows Ivy is my weak point and wants to use her against ,’ Silas thought coldly. Without hesitation, he gestured to one of the guards.

"Hit him."

The next second, a heavy punch landed squarely on Jade’s face. The dull crack of impact echoed in the room, and blood imdiately appeared at the corner of Jade’s mouth.

The guard raised his hand again, ready to strike once more.

But suddenly, Silas felt an inexplicable tightness in his chest.

A wave of anxiety.

It ca out of nowhere.

"Stop," Silas ordered sharply. "I will check on Ivy first."

The man nodded and rushed off.

Jade wiped the blood from his lips, still wearing that faint, unsettling smile.

Silas did not wait. He turned and hurried toward the building where Ivy was resting. His footsteps echoed loudly through the corridor, his heartbeat growing faster with every second.
