Now reading: Chapter 568: Antidote from Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower, a Fantasy novel by LittleRabbit1111.

It was the spilled antidote that was still lying on the ground.

She felt it would be a waste to simply leave it there.

Just as she was about to speak, one of the researchers suddenly stepped forward.

He grabbed a vacuum container and began carefully collecting the spilled antidote liquid from the floor.

Ivy couldn’t help but give him a thumbs-up.

Still, a thought crossed her mind.

’Will this even work anymore?’

The antidote had touched the ground and likely mixed with countless bacteria. Its composition might have changed slightly.

As she was thinking this, the researcher calmly sealed the collected liquid inside a bag and carried it toward a row of reinforced cages where several zombies were being kept for experints.

Another thin researcher followed him.

"I’ll co along," he said.

The slightly chubby researcher holding the vacuum container nodded.

They approached one of the cages and threw the bag inside.

Then both of them stepped back quickly.

anwhile, Ivy began discussing possible developnts with Jay and Alice.

However, before she could even finish the conversation.... "Oh my God!"

Another loud shout echoed across the laboratory.

Ivy nearly jumped again.

She placed a hand over her chest and muttered softly,

"Researchers really know how to exaggerate everything."

Still, she turned toward the direction of the shout.

This ti, the person shouting was the chubby researcher who had vacuud the antidote earlier.

He was pointing toward the cage with a trembling finger. Everyone imdiately followed his gaze.

And what they saw made the entire laboratory freeze.

Inside the cage... One of the zombies had completely transford back into a human.

The man stood there awkwardly, looking around with a confused expression as if he had just woken from a long nightmare.

One researcher frowned. "Was it the antidote?"

Several others imdiately shook their heads.

The thin researcher who had accompanied the chubby one suddenly spoke up . "Look at his skin."

Everyone looked more closely.

Sure enough, sothing was different.

Previously, even when zombies temporarily returned to human form, they still looked abnormal. Their skin remained unnaturally pale, almost chalk-white, like lifeless corpses.

But this man looked different. His skin tone was completely normal.

The man inside the cage noticed them staring and imdiately rushed toward the bars.

"Please! Open the door!"

His voice trembled with fear. "If you don’t let out, the other zombies will eat !"

Seeing his behavior and his apparently stable condition, the researchers quickly opened the cage and escorted him out.

However, he was imdiately taken to a sealed quarantine room where they began examining his condition.

After the researchers explained the situation to him, the man let out a long sigh of relief.

"I understand... I will cooperate."

anwhile, Ivy stood quietly nearby and looked at Jay and the others, who were already buzzing with excitent.

She raised an eyebrow slightly. ’What exactly made them so excited?’

She waited patiently until the results ca out. Soon the final report arrived.

The man who had transford back into a human was almost ninety-nine percent identical to a normal human.

The entire laboratory erupted in cheers. "This is a breakthrough!"

Everyone began celebrating loudly. Ivy, however, only frowned in confusion.

"What exactly is happening?"

Jay turned toward her, his face glowing with excitent. "The antidote is almost complete! We are at ninety-nine percent!"

Ivy blinked in surprise. "Weren’t you the ones who said the antidote was only ninety-five percent complete?"

Jay frowned thoughtfully. "We honestly don’t know why it worked so well on that particular zombie."

He rubbed his chin before continuing.

"Maybe the antidote affects different individuals differently."

To test his theory, Jay quickly ordered the team.

"Inject the antidote into several different zombies. We need more data imdiately."

The zombie samples were increased imdiately.

Several additional infected specins were dragged into the reinforced cages, their hoarse growls echoing through the laboratory.

However, to everyone’s dismay, the results were disappointing.

Not a single zombie showed the sa level of recovery as the first one who had transford after consuming the antidote that has been newly brought.

So of the more intelligent researchers began to speculate loudly.

"Maybe the antidote reacted with so kind of bacteria when it touched the ground."

"Yes, that might have altered its composition."

"If that’s the case, then the bacteria could have played a crucial role."

Following that theory, the researchers tried to recreate the exact situation. They shattered another vial of the antidote deliberately and allowed the liquid to spread across the floor.

Then, just like the earlier thod, they used a vacuum container to collect the spilled liquid. The process was identical to what the chubby researcher had done previously.

The collected liquid was then injected into several zombies. Everyone watched the cages with tense expressions.

Minutes passed. Nothing happened.

Disappointnt spread across the laboratory.

Murmurs began filling the room as the researchers whispered among themselves.

"Why did that one zombie recover differently?"

"There must be sothing unique about him."

At that mont, Ivy turned toward Jay. "What do you think is the possible reason?"

Jay rubbed the bridge of his nose thoughtfully before answering. "There are two possibilities."

He slowly raised two fingers. "First, the initial zombie might have awakened so kind of ability."

He gestured toward the observation cage where the recovered man had been kept earlier.

"If he possesses so form of resistance or purification ability, he might have been able to neutralize the side effects of the antidote inside his body."

Jay paused briefly before continuing. "If that’s the case, his blood itself could be used to develop the final antidote."

Then he raised the second finger. "The second possibility is that sothing else entered the antidote... sothing we didn’t notice or record."

Hearing this, Ivy nodded slowly. But halfway through her nod, she suddenly froze.

’Blood...?’

Her heart skipped a beat. ’Didn’t my blood fall into the antidote when the vial broke?’

The mory flashed clearly in her mind, the cut on her palm, the dripping blood, the shattered glass, and the antidote spilling across the floor.
