Now reading: Chapter 571: Her Brother? from Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower, a Fantasy novel by LittleRabbit1111.

From that day onward, Greta often visited the sa place outside the base.

She brought food for him and sotis even spoke to him about her life.

She would tell him how she and their mother were living safely inside the base.

The zombie never responded.

He simply stood there quietly, listening to her voice. Yet Greta always felt as if he could sohow understand.

To her, that silent version of her brother felt strangely adorable. So when the news about the antidote spread through the base, Greta was overjoyed.

Without hesitation, she rushed outside to tell him about it.

However, her excitent quickly turned into confusion.

The zombie stared at her blankly.

He clearly didn’t understand what she was talking about.

Seeing this, Greta sighed helplessly.

"I guess words aren’t enough..."

So she started drawing pictures on the ground with a stick.

She drew a zombie. Then she drew a human.

And finally she drew an arrow connecting the two. To her surprise...

The zombie stared at the drawings carefully. And slowly, it seed like he began to understand sothing.

He nodded slowly, as if he truly understood the aning behind Greta’s drawings.

His movents were stiff and unnatural, yet there was a faint trace of familiarity in the way he tilted his head.

Then the zombie lifted his gaze and looked toward the towering walls of the base.

A strange expression appeared on his rotting face.

It almost looked... pitiful.

He glanced at Greta again and then back at the base, as if silently saying that he wanted to approach her but the base would not allow him to co any closer.

When Greta understood what he ant, excitent surged through her chest.

’He really understands !’

Without hesitation, she rushed back toward the nearby patrol soldiers and quickly explained everything that had happened.

The soldiers listened carefully. Their expressions softened slightly when they saw the hopeful look in Greta’s eyes.

"Don’t worry," one of them said reassuringly. "We will bring him in."

Being the gentlemanly protectors they were, they carefully approached the zombie, Mika, and restrained him with professional caution before transporting him directly to the base.

Contrary to what many outsiders believed, Ivy was not only capable of resisting zombies, but she had also gained enough control to allow certain captured zombies inside the base.

The Temporal Storage had been guiding her in developing safer thods for handling infected individuals.

At the sa ti, it constantly reminded her of one important fact.

Because of her passive ability, zombies could never bite or infect her.

That natural immunity was one of the reasons Ivy felt confident enough to allow controlled experints involving zombies within the base.

Once Mika was brought inside, Greta nervously requested an antidote.

Without hesitation, the research team handed her one vial.

Her hands trembled slightly as she carefully fed the antidote to Mika.

After that, she remained by his side, refusing to leave even for a mont.

She didn’t dare tell her mother yet. ’What if this zombie isn’t actually my brother?’

The thought made her heart tighten painfully.

If she gave her mother false hope and it turned out to be wrong, it would only cause even deeper sorrow.

’It will be better to confirm it first...’

As the hours passed, however, Greta’s hope slowly began to fade.

The zombie’s recovery was painfully slow.

He remained almost motionless for a long ti, his breathing rough and uneven.

Watching him like this made Greta’s chest ache. Her fingers clenched tightly together. ’Please... let it be him...’

By nightfall, exhaustion finally overtook her, and she fell asleep beside the containnt bed.

The next morning, when Greta opened her eyes, she felt a strange sense of anticipation.

Slowly, she looked toward the figure lying on the bed.

Her breath caught in her throat. The face in front of her looked more and more familiar.

As the hours passed, the transformation continued.

By evening... The zombie had completely recovered.

His skin tone looked normal. The grayish decay had vanished.

When Mika opened his eyes and saw Greta sitting beside him, he froze in shock.

Panic quickly filled his expression.

Without saying anything, he instinctively tried to move away from her.

Greta stared at him in confusion. "Brother...?"

Her voice trembled slightly. "Why are you leaving?"

Hearing Greta call him that word, Mika felt a sudden sharp pain in his heart. ’I can’t get close to her...’

During the ti he had been a zombie, he had constantly feared infecting her. Even now, that instinctive fear lingered deep inside him.

He tried to growl and shake his head as if to warn her to stay away.

But sothing unexpected happened. Instead of a monstrous growl...

A clear human voice escaped his throat.

"No..."

Mika froze. His eyes widened in disbelief.

Slowly, he lifted his hand and touched his neck. Then he looked down at his body.

His skin... It was no longer pale and decayed.

His fingers, which had once been twisted and gray, now looked completely normal.

Human. His breathing quickened as realization dawned on him. He looked at Greta again.

She was staring at him with a mixture of hope and pain in her eyes.

Mika imdiately stepped forward and grabbed her hands. "What is happening?"

His voice trembled with confusion. "How did I turn back into a human?"

He looked around the room as if struggling to understand reality. "Am I seeing a vision?"

He whispered shakily. "Or... am I already dead? Is this heaven?"

Greta had been holding back her emotions for so long that the mont she heard his voice clearly, her defenses shattered.

She threw her arms around him and burst into tears. "Finally..."

Her voice broke as she sobbed into his shoulder. "Finally you ca back..."

The softness of her crying made Mika’s confusion fade slightly.

He gently patted her back. "It’s okay," he murmured softly. "I am here now."

Then his voice turned protective. "No one will bully you anymore."

He paused suddenly. "Did soone bully you?"

Hearing that question only made Greta cry harder.
