’If I could just drag her out... make her kneel...’ the thought crept into his mind.

Just as he was drowning in these thoughts, one of his subordinates stepped forward cautiously.

"I... have a suggestion, if you’re willing to hear it," the man said, his voice asured.

Ian’s gaze shifted toward him, sharp and piercing.

The man was Robert Hill, one of the most capable individuals he had recruited. Ian gestured impatiently. "Speak."

Robert inclined his head slightly. "Ivy will never help us willingly. Her hatred runs too deep," he stated calmly.

"If we want her to concede, we need leverage... sothing that forces her hand."

Ian frowned, his brows knitting together.

"If it were that simple, I would have done it long ago," he replied coldly.

’I already know this... but how do I even make it happen?’ he thought, irritation flickering in his eyes.

Robert’s eyes glinted faintly. "Recently, I ca into contact with a group... individuals who might be able to help you."

That statent piqued Ian’s interest. He leaned forward slightly. "Go on."

However, Robert shook his head. "This information is classified at an ultra-high level," he said firmly. "Unless we are alone, I will not disclose it."

This was the first ti a subordinate had openly defied Ian, and a dangerous glint appeared in his eyes.

Yet, after a brief pause, he exhaled slowly.

’This might be my last chance...’ he thought before raising his hand and signaling the others to leave.

The remaining subordinate cast an amused glance at Robert before exiting, leaving the room eerily quiet.

Robert, anwhile, felt a surge of anticipation.

’This is it... my opportunity,’ he thought, steadying himself before speaking. "I ca across a group of... superior beings," he began carefully.

Ian’s imdiate reaction was disbelief. "Superior beings?" he scoffed, a hint of mockery in his tone.

"What is this, so kind of science fiction nonsense?"

Robert let out a faint chuckle. "You may find it hard to believe," he replied, his voice calm yet confident.

"But my family was deeply involved during the ti when experints on extraterrestrial entities were being conducted."

Ian’s expression shifted slightly, curiosity replacing so of his skepticism.

"The governnt collaborated with my family," Robert continued.

"We owned facilities...high-tech laboratories hidden underground, far from the public eye. Places where such experints could be carried out without interference."

He paused briefly before adding, "And it was my family who granted permission for those operations."

"Of course, we knew every single detail," Robert began.

"That is precisely why I ca to know about these superior beings a long ti ago... far earlier than most people could even imagine."

He paused for a mont before lifting his gaze and smiling faintly.

"And that isn’t even the full extent of it," he continued, his tone lowering as if he were revealing sothing forbidden.

"Superior beings have existed on Earth for more than twenty years... long before two decades ago. This is not so fabricated nonsense or baseless rumor."

Ian’s brows furrowed as he leaned back slightly.

’Is he serious... or has he completely lost his mind?’ he wondered.

He narrowed his eyes at Robert. "Continue," he demanded.

Robert inclined his head slightly and continued without hesitation.

"Here’s the truth... even before this apocalypse began, everything had already been planned," he said, his words deliberate.

"And that plan... was created by the superior beings."

Ian did not interrupt this ti. Instead, he stared intently at Robert, waiting, his jaw tightening slightly.

’If this is a lie, I’ll crush him myself,’ he thought darkly.

Robert did not disappoint. "This apocalypse... is rely the first step," he continued calmly.

At that, Ian’s eyes flickered sharply.

"The superior beings had three primary motives," Robert went on, raising three fingers slowly. "The first... was revenge."

"Revenge?" Ian echoed, his voice low and edged with confusion.

"Yes," Robert replied, nodding faintly. "They wanted to take revenge for what was done to their prince."

Ian’s eyes widened slightly. "Prince? What prince?" he demanded.

Robert exhaled slowly before answering,

"The prince was one of them... a superior being who ca to Earth to conduct a survey. However, he was captured by human governnts and subjected to cruel experints."

His voice carried a trace of coldness as he continued,

"Eventually, he escaped... but he did not forget. He held onto that grudge, and that hatred beca the seed for everything that followed."

A faint chill ran down Ian’s spine as he processed those words.

’So this entire nightmare... started because of that?’ he thought, his fingers unconsciously tightening.

Robert continued, his tone unwavering. "The second motive was to reduce humanity."

Ian blinked, stunned. "Reduce... humanity?" he repeated under his breath.

"Yes," Robert affird.

"Even though they seek revenge, they are not blind to reality. Their population does not exceed one million, while humanity once stood at nearly six billion. Taking over Earth directly would have been impossible."

He paused briefly before adding, "So the only viable option... was to reduce the human population first."

Ian fell silent, his mind racing as he tried to grasp the sheer scale of what he was hearing.

"And the third..." Robert’s voice grew even heavier, "...and most important motive was selection."

Ian slowly lifted his head.

"They wanted to filter out humans," Robert explained, his gaze steady and unblinking. "Those with strong survival abilities would be chosen... transford into hybrids... and turned into their slaves."

The words hit Ian like a physical blow.

"What?" Ian exclaid, his voice rising as disbelief filled his expression.

"If that’s true, then these so-called superior beings are monsters. Shouldn’t we avoid them at all costs?"

For a mont, there was silence.

Then Robert laughed.

He laughed until his shoulders trembled slightly, and a faint sheen of moisture gathered at the corners of his eyes.

He raised a hand and wiped it away casually before looking back at Ian.

"That..." he said, his voice still carrying traces of amusent, "...is the naivety of humans."

Ian’s expression darkened.
