Ivy’s heart palpitated as she watched in anticipation, her index finger rubbing her thumb.
Ivy explained patiently,
"But they might have created so mutated diseases, right?" He asked with a wry smile, surprising Ivy once more with his intelligence.
"Good morning. Is there any problem?" Ivy asked, her tone casual as if what she had asked was just out of boredom.
"A new disease has broken out in the military. 9 out of 10 people who have contracted it... have died." Silas answered.
Silas didn’t answer right away; instead, he went through all the docunts and indeed noticed the pattern, many of them either have awakened a water superpower or abilities like eating too much, nonstop chattering, or dancing when feeling anxious.
She hasn’t forgotten that her main goal for coming to the military ground was to et Talia.
"Good morning." His features softened, and seeing the faint, worn-out expression he was trying to mask, Ivy’s heart ached.
What Ivy didn’t know was, her intervention in this life had already made a huge contribution.
She didn’t lower her voice, and Silas heard it too. He asked with bright eyes, "Do you know sothing?"
Rembering the cold floor, her expression turned grim. "So it’s truly happening?"
’Get a grip! Distance! Distance!’ Ivy warned herself, schooled her expression into a neutral one when she realized Silas had turned his attention on her.
She couldn’t help but feel disappointed. See? That was all her wishful thinking. How can her idea even co true? Theoretically, it was impossible...
Silas nodded while Ivy continued, "There won’t be such a case anymore, if I am not wrong, but..."
Silas’s pupil dilated, and he asked with urgency in his voice, "Will... will they gain superpower?"

"Yes." She replied, her feet touched the cold ground, and she shivered slightly. "Hm? Why is the floor so cold?"
Ivy was impressed by Freya’s speed. She wanted to help Freya; however, the problem was... in her last life, she hardly ever went out, and her immunity was good too, so she hardly ever fell ill or contracted these diseases, resulting in... her not rembering everything.
But that will happen 7 years or so later. To think Silas had predicted the future just from one sentence... he truly deserved to be a military captain.

"Hm. The zombies are about to evolve. You rember how I told you that all the zombies have a crystal, because they are humans who failed to awaken a superpower?"
Silas paused, his lips curled upwards slightly, he gave a aningful glance in Ivy’s direction who panicked a little and said with a feigned nonchalant expression,
Coupled with his good looks and broad shoulders, it was enough to make anyone feel secure.
"Nothing, just so military-related matter," Silas answered before changing the subject. "I have arranged a eting with Talia, she will be free 2 days later."
"Just curious."
With that, she exited the bathroom and entered the Temporal Storage. After a quick shower, she erged from her room and saw Silas sitting in the living room.
Ivy nodded and brought the topic back to where it was, "What are those docunts?"
"They were lucky... or you can call them unlucky too." Ivy sighed, "They were on the verge of becoming zombies, but luckily they awakened power and hence escaped the danger... temporarily."
His brows were furrowed as if he had encountered a problem he couldn’t solve. Dressed in the standard green military uniform, his authoritative and mature aura was even more enhanced.
It was a passing comnt, and Ivy went to get a shower; however, she soon realized that there was no water in the taps.
The mories of how tenderly he had held her yesterday flooded her mind, and her heart longed for such monts.
"Eh?" Ivy couldn’t believe her ears, unconsciously her voice rose as she asked, "Can I take out the bathroom as long as I have sufficient space?"
"I wasn’t the one who had discovered this." Silas answered, sensing Ivy’s admiring gaze, "Mom did."
Ivy woke up from hunger and stretched her arm. Feeling rejuvenated, Ivy quickly got to her work.
Silas nodded. The impact of that conversation had chilled him, and he started worrying about the people near him even more.
[Error... can’t comnce the order...]
Ivy pursed her lips, thinking about Silas’s previous behavior, she had an inkling that maybe... Silas knows sothing about her. The question was... how much?
Even though it was a vague response, Ivy suddenly rembered what had happened during this ti, and her face turned grim.
"Ivy? Are you awake?"
Silas fell into deep thought. After a while, he asked in confusion, "But I don’t understand how it is affecting the soldiers?"
"Those soldiers most likely have weak superpowers or are ordinary humans. Am I correct?"
The next day.
Her eye narrowed, and a thought appeared in her mind. "No... how can that be possible... I must be thinking too much."
Ivy tapped on her forehead. Sotis she truly forgets that the temporal storage isn’t an interactive system. It is a pre-programd one.
"These crystals in zombies were dormant till now, but due to the drop in temperature, the powers in the crystal were triggered again, and now... they will evolve."
The only question was whether or not Silas had contacted her yet. Just as she thought, the door of her room was knocked followed by a deep, warm voice,
No response.
This ti, Ivy looked at Silas in surprise. Indeed. Zombies will eventually gain intelligence, superpowers, and much more.
"I will find an open space to experint on my idea," Ivy muttered under her breath, before lying on the bed as sleep overtook her. She was exhausted from all the events that had happened.
A thought appeared in Ivy’s mind. How comforting would it be to snuggle in his arms?
"No. Not superpowers." Ivy shook her head, "They will gain the bodies of superhumans. They will beco more agile, nimble, and vigorous."
Freya, who should still have been overwheld with superpower-related discovery, had finished her research and had moved on to the current pressing issue.
