"Ghost..." Lin Tian murmured this strange codena. He hadn’t expected to encounter such a principled and distinctive sniper.

As for Ghost saying he would return to complete his unfinished mission, Lin Tian wasn’t worried at all. He even hoped to recruit Ghost in the future, as he would be an excellent asset.

Not long after Ghost disappeared into the night, the people in the woods rushed over and then each searched for advantageous positions, subtly encircling Lin Tian.

"Where’s Ghost?" two n approached Lin Tian, still led by the taller man who asked.

Lin Tian glanced at him and said indifferently, "He’s gone. I advise you to leave as well."

Although he said Ghost had left, he didn’t say Ghost had fled, but that’s not what these people thought. Another shorter, masked man scoffed disdainfully, "Hmph, Ghost, that coward, fleeing before completing his mission. People outside praise him so highly, when really he’s all bark and no bite. I don’t know what the boss sees in him."

Earlier, Ghost had said these people were arrogant, and he wasn’t wrong. But with their narrow-minded arrogance, they could never beco top experts.

"Mr. Lin, the boss asked us to treat you gently," the taller man said. "He said if you agree to leave the Xiao Family, he can offer you three conditions. If you insist on going your own way, we’ll have to take you back." By the end, his tone wasn’t as friendly.

Threatening and enticing, Bai Zhengchu’s thods were indeed skillful, hinting at the darker dealings the Bai Family had been involved in. Many family fortunes were accumulated through blood and ugliness.

"Heh, go back and tell your boss I don’t like making things hard for others. I only ask for one condition—the entire fortune of the Bai Family!" Lin Tian watched the masked man’s expressions change from surprise to joy, then to astonishnt and anger, a spectacle indeed.

The tall man’s eyes flared with rage, feeling deeply humiliated, he gritted his teeth and ordered, "Brothers, tie him up. If he resists, shoot his feet!"

Yet he shouted for a long ti, but no one behind him moved. When he turned around, he saw a beautiful woman approaching—it was Xiao Manxue.

She had not listened to Lin Tian’s advice, coming over without reassurance. After knocking out the guards, while the group’s attention was on Lin Tian, she had taken down the others.

"What... what did you do to them?" The tall man’s tone faltered.

His subordinates were neutralized silently, which unnerved him imnsely.

"They’ll wake up after a nap. You two, scram!" Xiao Manxue looked at them coldly. Even though unard, the two n didn’t dare resist.

Seeing that they had lost control of the situation, the two leaders thought of retreating.

"Leave your n behind!" Lin Tian suddenly rushed behind them and delivered a slap each, overturning them onto the ground, where they fainted.

"Miss, I told you to wait in the car. Why did you co here? What if they had attacked you!" Lin Tian walked briskly to Xiao Manxue, grabbed the front of her shirt harshly, and fiercely questioned.

Xiao Manxue looked at his angry face, suddenly finding this bad guy rather adorable. Her heart ward, and she stepped closer to Lin Tian.

"Hey, Miss, what are you trying to do? Didn’t you hear what I said?" Lin Tian asked, puzzled. The miss’s expression was hard to describe, seemingly shy and yet touched; it was quite complex.

He subconsciously loosened his grip and imdiately regretted letting go. What a perfect opportunity he had lost. "I need to work on my thick skin," Lin Tian reflected on himself.

"Next ti you disobey, I’ll tie you up!" Lin Tian feigned a threat and turned to walk towards the highway, murmuring softly, "So soft, was she raised on papayas..."

Xiao Manxue, who thought she had provoked him successfully, stumbled at his words, almost falling over.

On their way back, Lin Tian briefly explained the origins of the n to Xiao Manxue, who was quite surprised. The Bai Family had concealed powers unknown to others. She concluded that it must be connections Bai Zhengchu made while scrambling through Myanmar, gathering and training hitn.

Those n were just knocked out and not dead, so what did it an by severing the claws? Maybe...

"Miss, did you call the police?" Lin Tian asked in surprise.

"Yes, before I attacked them, I had soone anonymously call the police half an hour later; they should be arriving soon." Xiao Manxue turned to look at Lin Tian and after a pause asked, "If I hadn’t co, were you planning on killing them?"

Without answering her, Lin Tian neither denied nor confird.

She sighed and said, "I know you never spare your enemies, but I don’t want you to make too many enemies for the Xiao Family, fearing that one day..."

She didn’t finish her sentence, but Lin Tian understood—Miss was worried that one day he might be hunted down by many enemies. It surprised him that she had such a considerate side.

Although Lin Tian wasn’t afraid of those people seeking revenge, he was happy to accept the rare concern shown by Miss.

"That’s fine, letting the police handle it saves us the trouble of getting our hands dirty. The Bai Family may clear themselves in the end, but regardless, they can’t save this bunch of n. Consider it paying us so interest," Lin Tian said nonchalantly.

Soon, Lin Tian returned to the Xiao Mansion. Xiao Manxuan had fallen asleep in the living room while waiting, with the TV still on.

Looking at the young girl’s peaceful sleeping face, she seed like an angel. But her occasional sleep talking brought both tears and laughter, striking the softest part of his heart.

"Scoundrel... thank you... for helping my sister... when I grow up, I’ll marry you back ho!"

Miss looked at Lin Tian, her eyes filled with indescribable emotions. As the only heirs to the Xiao family fortune, the two sisters could never marry out. Just like the little girl ntioned in her sleep, they could only marry in, and the bittersweet reality was known only to them.
