The "rookies" paused for a mont and then shouted in unison, "Hello, Boss!"
"That’s more like it. Keep training, and if I catch you slacking off when I get back, you’ll be in for it." Stone scolded them with a couple of words before continuing to walk forward with Lin Tian.
Lin Tian glanced at the rookies and found their spirit to be quite decent. It seed the Ghost Team’s selection standards were quite high. These experienced rcenaries generally wouldn’t even consider becoming ordinary bodyguards.
"You’re developing well. Our principle is quality over quantity. I may not demand every bodyguard to be as strong as the Ghost Team, but their psychological strength must be solid. A strong body without a strong mind is just a coward at critical tis." Lin Tian comnted.
Stone chuckled, "Hehe, don’t worry, Boss Lin. This has always been Ghost’s requirent for us. Those without strong psychological resilience, even if they join, will be weeded out. Training the rookies is not just about enhancing their skills but also sifting out the sand, so what’s left is true gold."
As they talked, they arrived in front of a dorm building. Strangely, the entrance was closed and even locked. Lin Tian gave Stone a puzzled look, wondering why the door was shut in broad daylight.
"Boss, this is our requirent for the rookies. Entry and exit from the dorm area can’t be through the stairs. As for how to get in and out, it’s up to one’s ability, like the Eight Immortals crossing the sea, each showing their own power." Stone smiled.
"That’s creative, blending training into life." Lin Tian was slightly surprised and then joked, "Are you also trying to test ?"
"Hehe, I wouldn’t dare test Boss. Let open the door for you right away." Stone laughed.
"No need, I’ll go up myself. Which room is Ghost in?" Lin Tian refused Stone’s offer.
"On the top floor, room 901..." Stone answered.
But before he could finish, Stone blinked, and Lin Tian’s figure was already gone. Instinctively, he looked up and saw Lin Tian leaping across balconies, reaching the top floor in the blink of an eye.
Stone was so shocked his jaw almost dropped; it took him a while to regain his composure, muttering to himself, "Oh my god, Boss Lin is still human, right?!"
Before Lin Tian could even knock on the door of room 901, it was already opened by Ghost. Lin Tian hadn’t concealed his movents, so Ghost noticed his arrival at the first mont.
Seeing it was Lin Tian, Ghost was slightly surprised and said, "Brother Tian, why did you co? I always knew you’d be safe."
Lin Tian didn’t explain what happened that day but instead asked, "How is your master recovering?"
"He’s almost fully recovered. Although my master is weaker in combat than most cultivators, he has deeply cultivated in Ancient Yoga, making his vitality very strong." Ghost replied as he led Lin Tian into the room.
Upon entering, Lin Tian saw that the old man wasn’t lying weakly in bed. Instead, he was sitting cross-legged on the floor, and his posture was unlike any Ancient Martial Artist Lin Tian had seen; Lin Tian couldn’t make sense of it.
"Brother Tian, my master is cultivating; this can speed up healing. The Ancient Yoga Skill is more effective than any dicine in healing." Ghost explained, seeing Lin Tian’s confusion.
While Ghost spoke, the old man slowly opened his eyes. His gaze wasn’t that of a severely injured patient; he was spirited, even more vigorous than an ordinary person.
However, Lin Tian’s keen spiritual sense detected that the old man’s aura was still unstable, and his injuries hadn’t fully healed.
The old man looked at Lin Tian, visibly surprised, and after a mont, he said, "Mr. Lin truly is outstanding, to escape from Charlotte’s grasp and return safely."
Lin Tian didn’t rely escape; he defeated Charlotte. Nevertheless, he didn’t explain and just smiled, "Charlotte is indeed a formidable opponent, but this isn’t her territory, and she can’t do as she pleases."
"Alas, I’m ashad to have been an accomplice that day." The old man said, looking remorseful.
Lin Tian shook his head and said, "You, sir, keep your word; even risking your life to fulfill your promise, and I highly respect that. Besides, you didn’t hurt anyone that day."
Lin Tian wasn’t just saying this to please Ghost; he truly admired such an elder, and Ghost had inherited this trait, unconditionally following Lin Tian just because of a promise.
"Sir, I ca today firstly to check on your injuries. Seeing your improvent, I feel at ease. Secondly, I want to ask about what you ntioned on the ancient battlefield regarding Ghost’s background. Is it true?" Lin Tian asked.
The old man nodded, saying, "In the past few days, I’ve talked to him about the details of his background. It turns out that his parents weren’t his biological parents."
"During my younger years traveling to Huaxia, I could distinguish that his supposed parents weren’t Burse but Huaxian, perhaps Huaxian descent. I also inquired later, confirming they were Huaxian rchants who settled in Myanmar. They may have offended local ard forces, leading to their entire family’s demise."
"Mr. Lin, you might know that Myanmar has been unstable for a long ti. Incidents like this happened occasionally. Ghost was probably too young at the ti to attract the wrong attention, which led him to survive."
"Not even his supposed parents knew of his origins, which might remain a regret. The good part is that Ghost has returned to Huaxia, making it easier to trace his background." The old man sighed.
Lin Tian couldn’t say much, as he was also searching for his own background, perhaps with even dimr hopes than Ghost’s. At least Ghost had so leads, while Lin Tian had nothing, and the only person who adopted him was no longer alive.
After a bit more conversation, Lin Tian left the dorm, with Ghost seeing him off.
Walking to the end of the corridor, Lin Tian said, "Ghost, I’m going abroad soon. Everything at Tianxuan Special Guards will be up to you. Follow your judgnt and act without needing my permission."
"Brother Tian, are you going abroad because of Charlotte?" Ghost guessed imdiately.
Lin Tian nodded and said, "Partly because of her. While I’m away, arrange for soone to watch over the Xiao Family. I’m not worried about Charlotte’s return now, but I’m concerned about those Japanese guys who might make so moves. If they dare overstep, feel free to eliminate them without rcy."
"Don’t worry, Brother Tian. I have no fondness for those Japanese either. When I was a rcenary, they always opposed us Huaxian rcenaries. If they dare cross the line, I won’t hold back." Ghost’s eyes flashed with coldness as he spoke coldly.
Lin Tian patted his shoulder and turned to leave, naturally jumping off outside the building again.
By the ti he left Tianxuan Special Guards, it was already afternoon. Thinking about a familiar face in Xikou City, Lin Tian headed towards the city, eventually stopping at Victoria Beauty Workshop.
