Zhu Li turned around and gave Lin Tian a curious look. In her view, Lin Tian had just arrived in Wudu not long ago and didn’t even know the nas of the roads, so how could he know the most convenient route?
"Zhu Li, follow Lin Tian’s instructions," Xiao Manxue ordered.
Even though she didn’t know how Lin Tian did it, Lin Tian had never let her down when it ca to important matters. If there was soone she trusted the most, Lin Tian was one of them.
"Okay." Zhu Li also trusted Senior Xiao Manxue unconditionally. She turned to look at Lin Tian, letting him set the route.
Lin Tian leaned forward, tapped a few tis on the navigation system, and then sat back with ease: "Alright, follow this route, and there should be no problem."
Zhu Li looked at the route and frowned: "This road has been under maintenance for half a month; it’s still under construction and is closed. How are we going to get through?" She pointed at one of the routes.
"I looked at the map a few days ago, and if I’m not mistaken, this road will open at eleven o’clock this morning. The timing should be just right when we get there, and as one of the first cars to pass through, the road will definitely be clear," Lin Tian explained.
Zhu Li was skeptical. Can human mory really be that good? Can one notice and clearly rember even the most subtle information?
But although she doubted, she did not refute and continued along the route Lin Tian set. Several hours later, they finally reached the section Zhu Li ntioned was under maintenance.
But to everyone’s surprise, there was a large sign at the road entrance with a red stop sign, and next to it was a tagline that roughly read the section was under maintenance and to detour.
Several vehicles stopped at the entrance, and Zhu Li turned to look at Lin Tian, while Xiao Manxue also turned to look at Lin Tian, both equally astonished and speechless.
"Well, actually..." Lin Tian was just about to explain when two people ran up from behind, Jin Lisi and another team mber, who was banging on the car door for Lin Tian to open the window.
As soon as Lin Tian opened it, Jin Lisi angrily said, "Zhu Li, as the team’s guide, is this the route you led? Why didn’t you follow the originally planned route?"
This rude questioning made Lin Tian frown. A hereditary noble, yet with no patience, questioning before even getting the facts straight.
Lin Tian calmly said, "Vice Captain Jin Lisi, I was the one who modified the route. If you have any complaints, direct them at . It’s quite unbecoming to shout at a girl, especially your own teammate. I highly doubt your hereditary noble title is truly deserved."
Jin Lisi cared the most about his noble title. To be strict, he was only in a noble family, and as for the title, it was still under his father’s na. Unless his father passed away, he wouldn’t have a chance to inherit it, although no one usually paid attention to this detail.
Lin Tian inadvertently pointed it out, making Jin Lisi’s face darken imdiately. He suppressed his anger and said, "What right do you have? You’re rely a team doctor; what rights and qualifications do you have to change our mission route and lead us to a dead end?"
Just as he finished speaking, a rumbling engine sound ca from the inside of the closed-off section. Everyone turned to look, and a large road-clearing vehicle slowly drove up, clearing the road debris and soon reaching the cordoned-off entrance.
Several workers got off the vehicle, loaded the roadblocks and signs onto the clearing vehicle, then replaced them with a new sign that read: Maintenance completed, passage resud. Of course, the sign was in English.
The workers saw the few vehicles on Lin Tian’s side and greeted enthusiastically, "Hey, youngsters, you’re really lucky; the section just reopened, and you’re the first to pass through."
The enthusiastic greeting made Jin Lisi’s expression awkward. Lin Tian smiled faintly and said, "Eleven o’clock, right on the dot. Vice Captain Jin Lisi, I suggest you return to your car because we’re about to continue moving."
"Hmph!" Jin Lisi snorted, feeling both embarrassed and frustrated, but said nothing and returned to his car with the team mber.
Lin Tian vaguely heard their conversation:
"Captain Jin Lisi, this outsider is too obnoxious, making you embarrassed."
"Hmph, he thinks he’s sothing special just because he defeated Carter. Now he’s all arrogant, not respecting as the vice captain. And that Xiao Manxue, on what grounds is she the captain? If I hadn’t been out on missions, I would have been the champion in the selection match, and the captain position would have been mine by right."
"Of course, with Captain Jin Lisi’s strength, neither Li Wenfeng nor Xiao Manxue is your match. Wait until the battle, intentionally hold back and make her ask for your help. Then, you will be the true captain, and after the mission, the greatest honor will be yours."
"Hmm, that’s a good suggestion."
With that, the two got in the car, and there was no sound. Lin Tian shook his head, confirming that wherever there are people, there is both overt and covert competition.
"Miss, who was that team mber knocking on the car window earlier?" Lin Tian casually asked.
"A mber of the Frostwind Team, nad Marlow," Xiao Manxue replied.
Lin Tian was taken aback and couldn’t help but say, "What is going on? How did Reina Sword Saint arrange people, placing soone from the Frostwind Team in your group?"
"This was Li Wenfeng’s idea. To be fair, each captain randomly drew team mbers, so the ntors couldn’t say anything. Besides, in the ntor’s eyes, our disputes are normal competition, just young people wanting to excel, nothing significant," Xiao Manxue replied helplessly.
Nothing significant? Lin Tian smiled wryly, only hoping that the ntor wouldn’t be wrong, but people’s minds, those obsessed only with martial arts like Reina Sword Saint might not understand.
Following the route set by Lin Tian, the team proceeded smoothly through Wudu, leaving Zhu Li in awe of Lin Tian. A Huaxia native, yet so familiar with Wudu.
After driving a bit further on paved road, the convoy moved onto a gravel road. Such a road is treacherous for low-chassis cars, a real hazard risking stalling at any mont. Fortunately, Zhu Li had been here before, so all the vehicles chosen were authentic off-roaders.
England is different from Huaxia. In Huaxia, even after leaving the city, you can always see villages and towns along the way, but in England, once out of the city, it’s mostly deserted.
However, the road didn’t feel desolate; the scenery was quite beautiful, making the journey less tedious. Until five o’clock in the afternoon, the vehicles finally drove into a small town.
"We’ve arrived; this is Sorlin Castle. We made it before nightfall," Zhu Li sighed in relief and said.
If this trip were delayed in the middle, they would’ve had to travel at night. With those difficult road conditions, night travel would be very unsafe, highly likely to run over stones and overturn. Given the team mbers’ skills, flipping the car wouldn’t be fatal, but it would certainly delay the journey.
Now, having arrived smoothly, as the guide, she was relieved, looking at Lin Tian with more gratitude. If it weren’t for Lin Tian, the trip wouldn’t have been so smooth.
