Lin Tian objected, "Miss, let lead the way, you stay at the back."
"I’m the captain..." Xiao Manxue wanted to refuse, but Lin Tian had already waved his hand and ran forward with half the team.
Xiao Manxue glared at Lin Tian, thinking to herself that he was truly a presumptuous guy.
Zhu Li, standing beside her, said, "Senior, Lin Tian is really nice to you. He’s really not your boyfriend?"
"Who said we are boyfriend and girlfriend? Such an arrogant guy, if you think he’s great, why don’t you be his girlfriend?" Xiao Manxue blushed and quickly denied it.
"Senior, you said it. I’m really going to pursue him, I don’t want to miss out on a man like that." Zhu Li said unabashedly.
Xiao Manxue glanced at her and said, "Zhu Li, how co I never realized before that you like the scenario of a girl chasing a boy?"
"I never noticed n like Lin Tian before. Now that I’ve found one, of course I’m going to take the initiative. Don’t forget, senior, Lin Tian is also my savior. If it weren’t for him, I might already be dead by now." Zhu Li said very seriously.
Xiao Manxue looked defeated, glaring as she said, "The girls around Lin Tian can wrap around Holy Spirit Town three tis. You better think this through. Alright, stop daydreaming, we’ve gone beyond ten ters, let’s go."
The captain waved a hand and everyone rushed out, with Zhu Li saying while running, "Senior, I don’t mind, and I’m not bad-looking either."
Running in front, Xiao Manxue almost crashed into a big tree, feeling helpless as she gasped, "Alright, you win."
Lin Tian and Xiao Manxue’s teams were ten ters apart, moving forward quickly. Even though there were many large trees and wild shrubs in the forest, they didn’t impede their steps.
For them, such small obstacles were negligible, and they continued as if on flat ground. Lin Tian ran in front, even holding back his speed otherwise the team wouldn’t see him at all, but even so, the team was astonished by his speed.
The mbers were determined to surpass Lin Tian at full speed, but found that no matter how they sped up, they could only see his back.
A ten-kiloter distance was very short for them, and soon Lin Tian was the first to reach the ruins, with other team mbers arriving one after another.
This so-called ruin was just a few broken pillars, so Roman columns half-buried in the ground with so unknown flower vines climbing over them. The only difference was that many trees around were broken, seeming like a battle had occurred.
Lin Tian walked over to inspect one of the broken branches and found it was already sowhat old, clearly not broken today.
"These were broken during our last battle," Zhu Li explained.
"I’m not thinking about that. I’m wondering why the traces end here?" Lin Tian said with a frown.
He had been following the traces, but they ended here. Xiao Manxue and the other team mbers examined carefully and found it was exactly as Lin Tian described.
"People usually leave traces as they move through a forest, unless they’re a hunter and deliberately erase them. But Jin Lisi and the others weren’t here to hunt; they ca purely for investigation, so they probably didn’t bother with erasing traces." Zhu Li said in puzzlent, shaking her head as she couldn’t understand how it was as if people vanished here.
"Brother Tian, maybe they..." Rossi pointed up, suggesting.
"You think they flew away? That’s impossible..." Zhu Li said, not believing it.
Lin Tian gestured for her to stop, "Not flown, but taken. Don’t forget, vampires can fly."
"Taken? Then isn’t the deputy captain probably in grave danger?" a team mber exclaid.
Failed before even starting, this was the most morale-crushing of situations. The team mber’s words aroused unease within the group. Just as everyone was feeling a bit on edge, a strange noise suddenly ca from deep within the forest.
"Help ..."
Hearing cries for help in the middle of the night, most would think it’s haunted, but the team mbers were thrilled because it could very well be the call for help from Jin Lisi’s group of four.
"Over here, let’s go." Lin Tian beckoned, turning to dash off imdiately. The others hadn’t accurately pinpointed the direction yet, but in urgency, they followed Lin Tian.
After running about a kiloter, Lin Tian saw from afar, four people hanging on a big tree ahead, with one of them making faint noises while the other three were motionless, their state unknown.
"It’s Jin Lisi and the others!" Zhu Li exclaid.
As soon as she finished, Xiao Manxue and Lin Tian leapt up simultaneously, landing back down with two people each.
The one calling out was indeed Jin Lisi, still conscious but looking extrely disheveled being carried by Lin Tian.
"Lin Tian, what are you doing, let go!" Jin Lisi, realizing his awkward situation, shouted angrily.
Lin Tian sneered and without a second thought released his hold, letting Jin Lisi fall to the ground with a thud, causing him to cry out again.
Jin Lisi, injured sohow, tried several tis to stand but failed, eventually half-lying on the ground, glaring at Lin Tian with resentnt, "Lin Tian, how dare a commoner treat a noble like this!"
"Right, I’m a commoner, you’re a noble, you’re so noble that I can’t even touch you." Lin Tian replied with mock seriousness.
He previously just found Jin Lisi annoying, but now he wanted to beat him up to see how this noble looked with a swollen face.
Lin Tian didn’t actually hit him, but the other team mbers couldn’t stand by idly, especially Zhu Li, who stood before Jin Lisi, scolding loudly, "Jin Lisi, you’re truly ungrateful. Without Lin Tian, you’d still be hanging on that tree, yet you dare yell at your savior. Did a dog eat your noble decency!"
"Miss Zhu Li, don’t insult dogs, they wouldn’t stomach such foulness." Lin Tian chuckled, his smile one that could infuriate anyone.
Jin Lisi’s face flushed red, stamring in anger, "You... what do you an, I don’t need your help, I can save myself."
As soon as he said that, a few wolf howls echoed from the forest, seemingly not far away. Jin Lisi’s face turned slightly pale, trying again to stand but still failing.
"Ah, I wonder if hungry wolves would eat sothing so foul?" Lin Tian said with a faint smile.
Lin Tian’s words were irking, but Jin Lisi knew that if they really encountered hungry wolves, his current state wouldn’t fare well, so he just glared without retorting.
anwhile, Xiao Manxue, after checking the other three, announced, "They’re okay, just passed out."
She then turned to Jin Lisi, speaking coldly, "Jin Lisi, you’re the deputy captain, yet you disobey orders and acted on your own. How do you explain yourself this ti?"
