"I think admiring ancient swords and him offering points are two different things, no? I don’t want his points." Xiao Manxue huffed softly.
Zhu Li looked at Xiao Manxue with a smile and said, "Senior, you must have feelings for Lin Tian, right? Because you care about how you appear in his eyes, that’s why you don’t want to accept his points."
"You... What are you talking about? Who likes that arrogant guy? If you like him, go ahead, but don’t involve ." A hint of panic flashed in Xiao Manxue’s eyes, and she quickly denied it.
Zhu Li laughed and said, "Yes, I do like Lin Tian, I’ve never denied it. But senior, I know Lin Tian likes you, I can see it in his eyes."
"Little kids, trying to read people’s eyes, I can’t be bothered with you. I’m going to sleep." Xiao Manxue blushed for a mont, but then deliberately tried to educate her.
Zhu Li giggled and said, "Senior, why are you sleeping early in the morning?"
"Mind your own business..." Xiao Manxue humd, then fell silent.
The dayti passed quickly. At 7 PM, it was ti for Li Wenfeng’s banquet at the grand hall of the Knight Academy.
Lin Tian and Xiao Manxue arrived at the party venue, and many people were already there, gathering in small groups. As Lin Tian walked in, everyone’s eyes focused on him with eagerness.
Even though Xiao Manxue looked beautiful and elegant in her evening dress tonight, their eyes were still on Lin Tian. Lin Tian, of course, knew what they were after.
If he didn’t have those fifty thousand points, Lin Tian believed these people would have looked at him differently.
So who prided themselves on their social skills ca to greet Lin Tian, or perhaps it was more appropriate to say they were trying to cozy up, because everyone knew the the of tonight’s banquet; eating and drinking were just superficial, accumulating points was what they truly cared about.
In a corner of the banquet, a man saw Lin Tian co in, then quietly slipped out through a side door, arriving in a room behind the hall. Behind a table in the room sat a person holding a book; if Lin Tian were there, he would have recognized him as the host of the banquet, Li Wenfeng.
"Young master, just as you expected, Lin Tian and Xiao Manxue indeed ca." The man flattered with a smile.
Li Wenfeng put down the book and said indifferently, "Lin Tian is an arrogant person. Even if he knew I had ill intentions, he would still co."
"Young master, what should I do?" The man respectfully asked for instructions.
"Find a way to get that glass of red wine into his hands. Rember, keep it discreet, don’t let anyone realize we did it." Li Wenfeng coldly instructed.
The man hesitated for a mont before asking, "Young master, are you sure it will work?"
"Of course it will, and it works very well. I got this after destroying a Blood Clan stronghold, from their basent." Li Wenfeng took out a small glass bottle from his pocket.
Through the glass bottle, one could see half filled with a dark red liquid, looking quite similar to wine or red wine.
"Young master, what exactly is this stuff?" The man asked curiously.
Li Wenfeng shook the bottle and said, "This is sothing alchemists refined from vampire blood and several kinds of beast blood; you could call it blood elixir or Bloody Mary. If a Blood Clan drinks it, it can slightly ease their blood addiction."
"What happens if a human drinks it?" The man asked again.
"Xiao Fu, good question. If a human drinks it, they will gradually transform into a creature neither human nor Blood Clan, like being afflicted with a vampire’s Corpse Poison." Li Wenfeng explained with a smile, though the smile was chilling.
"Haha, young master, I get it. If Lin Tian turns into a creature neither human nor ghost, he will be hunted by all the guardians." The man laughed excitedly.
A cold glint appeared in Li Wenfeng’s eyes, and he waved his hand: "Go."
The man nodded and left, while Li Wenfeng put away his book, adjusted his clothes, and also walked out of the room towards the banquet hall.
In the hall, Lin Tian finally managed to deal with a group of enthusiastic students, and rare monts of peace, he and Miss found a quiet corner.
"What’s going on with this Li Wenfeng? Everyone’s here, but he still hasn’t shown up. Such neglect of guests isn’t like him." Lin Tian said puzzled.
"Who knows what he’s up to, maybe he’s scheming on how to get the points from your hands." Xiao Manxue said.
Just as they finished speaking, Li Wenfeng walked in from the side door of the hall, with an apologetic look on his face, he said aloud, "Dear students, I’m so sorry, I was delayed by sothing just now, and ca a bit late."
"Please take your seats." Li Wenfeng nodded slightly, inviting everyone.
In the middle of the hall, there was a long dining table covered with a delicate tablecloth, exquisite cutlery and ceramics, Huaxia’s high-end porcelain, which is very common in England’s upper-class society, regarded by nobles as a symbol of status.
Lin Tian and Xiao Manxue were ushered to the guests’ main seats by the crowd, and they graciously took the first seats, while Li Wenfeng, as the host of the banquet, naturally sat in the main seat.
Coincidentally, opposite Lin Tian was Jin Lisi, but Jin Lisi pretended not to know Lin Tian, not once greeting him since the start.
Uncertain if it was out of fear of Lin Tian, or too embarrassed to face Lin Tian and Xiao Manxue, especially after just experiencing the thrilling events at Sorlin Castle.
Though the banquet was hosted by Li Wenfeng, it was completely organized by Western customs, with the serving order and dishes entirely Westernized.
First was prayer, followed by an appetizer, mainly salad, then the first course, which was a thick soup, though to Lin Tian it seed more like a stew, and the taste was peculiar.
The second course was truffle foie gras, truffle as an ingredient didn’t need ntioning, but when Lin Tian learned it was paired with foie gras, he didn’t even want to touch his fork.
Europeans often claim to be gentlen, but foie gras is one of the world’s most cruel dishes, each one representing a goose’s tragic fate.
Even current factory-fard chickens, although raised with hormones and feed, still take forty-five days until slaughter, but for geese, every day the feeders use tal tubes to shove deep into their throats directly stuffing food and overfeeding.
In just eighteen days, geese overproduce a liver ten tis the normal size due to this force-feeding, and this diseased fatty liver becos the culinary "delicacy" of Europe.
Westerners eat such perverse food, speaking of gentlemanly manners, utterly hypocritical, even Xiao Manxue put down her fork, not touching it.
Li Wenfeng glanced at the two, a faint smile in his eyes, but said nothing.
