Zhang Lingyu was captured here but was treated like a king, Lin Tian was quite curious about what Charlotte’s reaction was.
Charlotte just smiled, "Zhang Family girl, don’t you want to see who I brought in for you?"
"Who?" Zhang Lingyu finally put down the book in her hand and looked at Charlotte, but Lin Tian was blocked by Charlotte, so she didn’t see him at first.
Charlotte moved half a step to the side, revealing Lin Tian standing behind her. Zhang Lingyu’s expression froze, and the book in her hand dropped to the floor with a thud.
However, this expression only lasted a few seconds before she returned to her lazy deanor, picked up the book from the floor, and continued reading, not even giving Lin Tian a glance.
Both Lin Tian and Charlotte were dumbfounded. What’s up with this little girl, is she out of her mind from being locked up?
"Zhang Family girl, I brought your lover here, and you’re not even a bit pleased?" Charlotte’s eyes flickered as she spoke tentatively.
Zhang Lingyu kept the appearance of reading, but Lin Tian noticed her grip on the book had noticeably tightened. She hid behind the book, her face unreadable: "You randomly bring in soone who looks like Lin Tian and call him Lin Tian? That bastard is a damn pervert, arrogant and obnoxious, what makes you think this person is anything like him?"
What, I’m a damn pervert, arrogant and obnoxious? Lin Tian was fuming, this little girl must’ve really lost it. Here I am, risking my neck to rescue her, and she calls a pervert. Seems like I need to show you the true aning of a pervert.
Charlotte smiled faintly, turned to Lin Tian, "Pervert, you two catch up, talk about old tis, I’m leaving."
She then started to walk out of the room. Zhang Lingyu on the sofa quickly jumped up and shouted, "Hey, you take him out, I don’t know him!"
Unfortunately, Charlotte ignored her and walked straight out, shutting the door with a bang, leaving only Lin Tian and Zhang Lingyu in the living room.
The two stared at each other bewilderedly, Lin Tian angry at her calling him a pervert, as for Zhang Lingyu, she seed frustrated.
"You’re crazy!"
Both of them shouted at each other at the sa ti, then both paused in surprise. Zhang Lingyu’s expression fell, and she sat back on the sofa deflated, looking completely different from her lazy deanor earlier.
"Didn’t I tell you not to co? Why won’t you listen?" Zhang Lingyu stood up again, glaring at Lin Tian.
"You can recognize , and you called a pervert, do you have a death wish?" Lin Tian glared back.
Zhang Lingyu gave him a look, still huffing with anger, "I pretended not to know you so you’d leave. Don’t you realize how dangerous it is here? Where’s your usual cleverness?"
"I knew you were pretending," Lin Tian smiled slightly.
"You knew and still didn’t leave, wasting my expressions!" Zhang Lingyu was even angrier, almost wanting to smack Lin Tian on the head.
"Because I know it’s dangerous, I can’t leave you here alone," Lin Tian stepped closer to Zhang Lingyu, his gaze gentle, and spoke softly, "You know? I don’t want the next place I rescue you from to be in the Netherworld, we won’t be lucky every ti, I wish for your safe and soundness."
Seeing Lin Tian’s gentle and focused gaze, Zhang Lingyu’s heartbeat involuntarily quickened, as if a little deer was jumping wildly in her heart, and a faint blush crept onto her pretty face.
She couldn’t withstand Lin Tian’s gaze and took two steps back, though the anger she had earlier had dissipated completely. Her tone softened significantly, "You shouldn’t have co. Even with the White Tiger Seal, I may not be able to get out of this place."
"I know, there’s a barrier in the underground space here even more formidable than the Blood-colored Barrier," Lin Tian asserted.
"How do you know? No, why did you co down here if you knew? I’ve been studying this barrier for a long ti and concluded it might even be an Ancient Barrier!" Zhang Lingyu almost got angry again, her face full of confusion as she looked at Lin Tian.
Lin Tian didn’t mind her being angry, because he knew the little girl was worried. He surveyed the surroundings before saying, "Actually, I ca not just to rescue you or to get Charlotte’s blood, but because I sensed the presence of a zombie in the barrier underground."
"The presence of a zombie? How co I didn’t sense it?" Zhang Lingyu was shocked for a mont, frowning. It was quite surprising for a Demon Exterminating Master like her to not detect the presence of a zombie.
Lin Tian thought for a mont and said, "It’s a very peculiar aura, very subtle. If I hadn’t been careless, it would have triggered my internal zombie power, revealing my true form. As you said, this is likely an Ancient Barrier, hence the owner of this zombie aura is not ordinary, undoubtedly a higher rank than ."
"You intend to investigate the source of this zombie aura?" Zhang Lingyu understood Lin Tian’s intent.
Lin Tian nodded, sighing slightly, "I’ve been spending ti with the Blood Clan, witnessing their vast population. Sotis I wonder why Huaxia’s zombies are so few. Now with a zombie aura erging, I have no reason not to investigate."
Zhang Lingyu glanced at him and softly said, "According to notes from Demon Exorcists, in ancient tis there was a great war between zombies and mighty beings. The outco was not recorded, and descendants knew nothing of it. However, after that war, the four great Zombie Ancestors, Jiang Chen, Nu Ba, Houqing, Ying Gou, all vanished without a trace."
"The mighty beings vanished together with them; since then, for thousands of years, Demon Exorcists never ceased their hunt on zombies, thus zombies nearly went extinct," Zhang Lingyu said, though her tone was a bit off because the Lin Tian in front of her was a real, live zombie.
Being able to talk calmly with a Demon Exterminating Master about zombies felt strange to Lin Tian, "We two sitting down calmly and chatting is quite a miracle, isn’t it?"
Zhang Lingyu did not respond to this topic, instead asking, "Your purple flas are from Nu Ba’s lineage, right? Nu Ba has been gone for thousands of years, who bit you?"
"It should’ve been Nu Ba herself," Lin Tian confird.
"What! You say it was Nu Ba?" Zhang Lingyu exclaid.
She had never asked who bit Lin Tian, or rather, she never had the chance to. Previously, they were either sneaking into the Netherworld to save soone or separating after a big battle, and then she got captured by Charlotte.
Zhang Lingyu never imagined the zombie that bit Lin Tian would be Nu Ba, the Zombie Ancestor who disappeared thousands of years ago. The ergence of a Zombie Ancestor is an event of enormous significance to the entire Demon Exorcism World, with impacts and shocks no less than that of a planet collision with Earth.
A single ordinary zombie could cause massive chaos, let alone a Zombie Ancestor!
