The little girl was eighteen or nineteen years old, wearing a white dress with a goose-yellow belt around her waist. Her entire outfit gave off a fresh, serene, and elegant feeling, with a slightly sweet aura.
But when Lin Tian saw her face, he didn’t quite agree. It’s not that she wasn’t pretty. On the contrary, the little girl was extrely beautiful, the kind of beauty that would easily make her one of the top school beauties.
However, her eyes flickered, and her expression was strange. It was clear that beneath her fresh outfit was a quirky young girl.
Who is this little girl, and why is she following ? Could she be from the Ling Family? Lin Tian thought, puzzled.
He didn’t speed up to shake her off, just acted like he hadn’t noticed anything, naturally walked down the stairs, and when he reached the first floor, he didn’t go out but walked into the n’s restroom.
In a corner, Lin Tian pulled out a bag containing the clothes he had changed out of. Clearly, he couldn’t wear black clothes and a mask back to the West Courtyard.
He quickly changed his clothes. The black outfit and mask were put into the bag. Lin Tian then turned on his X-ray vision and saw the little girl wandering outside the restroom with a distressed look on her face, probably debating whether to follow him into the n’s restroom.
Just then, three n walked into the restroom. After they relieved themselves, Lin Tian nonchalantly followed the three out. The little girl quickly checked their clothing, and seeing that none of them were in black, she ignored them and continued to keep an eye on the restroom door.
Lin Tian took advantage of the opportunity to leave the restaurant with the three n, leaving the little girl waiting in vain.
Ling Shuiyao waited for over ten minutes. Several n ca and went, but the man in black was nowhere to be seen. Suddenly having a bad feeling, she bit her lip and, without thinking, rushed into the n’s restroom.
But by then, the n’s restroom was empty. Ling Shuiyao stomped her foot angrily, "Damn it, he got away."
Just as she was fuming, two n walked in, and they imdiately locked eyes, one of the n stepping back to check the sign, confirming he hadn’t entered the wrong room.
"What are you looking at? Never seen a beautiful girl?" Ling Shuiyao was embarrassed, but she held her head high and put on a bold front, secretly cursing the man in black a hundred tis.
The little girl shot a glare at the two n, stomped out of the restroom with confident strides, leaving the two n bewildered.
Ling Shuiyao left the restroom and ran all the way back to the fifth-floor private room, her face flushed. In the room, the woman stepped out from behind the screen, standing with her back to the door and looking out the window, while Ling Taoran stood respectfully nearby.
"Shuiyao, you lost track, didn’t you?" The woman said with a chuckle, not turning her head.
"Hmph, he actually slipped away under my nose, and even made ..." Ling Shuiyao was furious and unwilling to let it go.
But halfway through, she stopped, realizing that what she’d done couldn’t be confessed. She couldn’t let her family know that she’d actually rushed into the n’s restroom.
Ling Taoran listened, his face going black. This girl really knew no bounds, even daring to follow a Pharmacist, but since the Pavilion Master wasn’t reproaching her, he figured he shouldn’t say anything.
"Pharmacists have a stronger spiritual sense than the average Ancient Martial Artist, Shuiyao. Perhaps he noticed you as soon as you started following him," the woman said with a faint smile.
"That’s impossible. I hid very well," Ling Shuiyao retorted, unconvinced.
The woman shook her head but didn’t argue further. Ling Taoran looked up at the woman and respectfully asked, "Pavilion Master, should I send soone to investigate his background?"
The woman imdiately rejected the idea without even considering it: "No need. Since he’s hiding his identity, it ans he doesn’t want anyone to know it. If we investigate recklessly and he finds out, Langya Pavilion will have offended a Pharmacist. Right now, we’re on friendly terms with him. Why do sothing with no benefit?"
"The reason I didn’t stop Shuiyao’s little act was because she’s just a child. Even if the Pharmacist noticed, it would be considered child’s play. An investigation by Langya Pavilion, however, would be a different matter altogether."
"Rember, we’d rather offend an Ancient Martial Artist than a Pharmacist." The woman reminded them again before turning and leaving the room.
Ling Shuiyao lowered her head, following behind, mumbling to herself. I wasn’t just fooling around, and besides, I’m already eighteen, an adult, not a child.
Lin Tian walked out of the restaurant, a few hundred ters away, when he suddenly had a feeling, compelling him to turn back and glance at the restaurant. From a window of a fifth-floor private room, a figure just turned around, leaving only an elegant back view.
That private room happened to be next to the Jia 1 private room. Lin Tian raised an eyebrow, a strange thought crossing his mind.
He thought about it but ca up empty, so he turned and continued on his way. Soon, he reached the edge of the bamboo grove and rembered that he’d left Situ Ruoling tied up there before he left.
Damn, could that little girl still be tied up in the bamboo grove? Lin Tian thought it odd. If that were the case, she really lacked skills if she couldn’t escape from her bindings.
Thinking this, Lin Tian entered the bamboo grove and reached the spot where he’d tied her up. Situ Ruoling was long gone, but the bamboo he’d used had suffered, cut cleanly through, as had several of the surrounding bamboos.
The cuts were smooth and precise. Lin Tian could imagine how Situ Ruoling took her frustrations out on the bamboos after breaking free, likely in a fit of rage.
Who knows how long this bamboo grove had been around? Those bamboos had so age, yet they’d fallen prey to the little girl’s "wrath."
A sin, a sin, Lin Tian shook his head, turning to leave the grove. On his way back to the West Courtyard, he mused whether Situ Ruoling was waiting there to take revenge. But upon reaching the West Courtyard, he saw only a few Ancient Martial Artists passing by, with no sign of Situ Ruoling.
Knowing the girl’s temperant, she must have had sothing else co up. Otherwise, the West Courtyard would be in chaos by now. With that thought, Lin Tian dismissed it and headed straight to his room.
It was noon, and when Lin Tian opened the door, he saw Ghost and Yun Xiaotian eating.
"You two are eating without ," Lin Tian protested.
"Brother Tian, didn’t you have a big al after eting with those at the auction?" Ghost said, stuffing his mouth.
Lin Tian plopped onto a chair, grabbing a roast chicken leg and taking a few bites before saying, "So big al. I spent the whole morning having tea poured for . I suspect it was a trick, trying to starve so they could gain an advantage in negotiations."
"Really? Did Brother Lin get the invitation?" Yun Xiaotian asked anxiously.
"Heh, how could I not get it after using my big moves?" Lin Tian tossed a wooden box onto the table, chuckling.
