Zhang Heyuan did not imdiately cast a spell, but instead opened the car door and took a bottle of mineral water from the car, opened it, and then picked up a paper talisman.
"Mysterious Light Mirror, reveal in the water, open!" Zhang Heyuan mumbled incantations, and the paper talisman began to burn. He grabbed a handful of ashes and stuffed them into the mineral water bottle, shaking it vigorously.
Strangely, the black ashes mixed in the water seed to dissolve, and the water remained clear.
"Take it, try it." Zhang Heyuan handed the water to Lin Tian, a strange expression on his face.
With curiosity, Lin Tian took it, about to drink, as the old man didn’t seem like he ant any harm.
But Zhang Heyuan pulled him back, glaring, "What are you doing, I didn’t tell you to drink. Apply it to your eyes, if you drink it you’ll get diarrhea."
Damn, could have told earlier, Lin Tian was speechless, but it wasn’t ti to argue with the old man. He poured a little on his finger and applied it to his eyes.
"Don’t look at , look at the building." Zhang Heyuan reminded again.
After applying the water to his eyes, there was a cooling sensation. Lin Tian closed his eyes briefly, then looked at the hospital building.
No problem if you don’t look, but seeing it shocks you. The building had drastically changed; the whole structure was shrouded in black energy, as if engulfed in a dark abyss. The black energy spiraled like flas, rising towards the sky, seemingly about to reach Nine Heavens.
A strange bloodthirsty aura approached, seeming to devour him. If it weren’t for Lin Tian’s strong nerves, he would have already been too scared to stand.
A gust of night wind blew, bringing a slight chill. Lin Tian shuddered, and the strange vision disappeared. The building was just the sa, no black energy, no bloodthirsty aura, as if nothing had happened.
"Young man, well done. You didn’t get scared stiff." Zhang Heyuan looked at Lin Tian, full of praise, then turned to Ning Luoxi: "Little girl, you give it a try too."
Seeing Lin Tian’s reaction, Ning Luoxi’s curiosity rose. She took the water and applied it to her eyes. The reaction was as expected; her face changed dramatically, not out of fear but with seriousness. Once fully recovered, she breathed softly, beads of sweat on her forehead.
"The little girl is impressive too, truly remarkable younger generation." Zhang Heyuan praised alike.
"Old Zhang, what’s going on here?" Ning Luoxi asked gravely.
Lin Tian frowned, having a vague guess.
Zhang Heyuan sighed, speaking gravely, "The black energy is surging to the sky. This blood curse is about to erupt. When it does, everyone within ten miles will be affected, and it will spread over ti. Do you think it’s just so bugs? Jiang Chen appearing signifies calamity."
"This is not the worst of it. Those parasitized will not only have physical issues, but their souls would be polluted by blood curse. When their bodies die and souls descend to the Netherworld, the blood curse will quickly spread there. In the Human Realm, sunlight can slightly restrain the curse, making it possible to eliminate it with effort."
"But the Netherworld is a land of Yin Sha; the blood curse will spread rapidly there. Not just yin souls but Ghost ssengers won’t escape. Chaos in the Netherworld, unimaginable consequences!" Zhang Heyuan’s tone was unprecedentedly heavy.
The old man knows about the Netherworld, which doesn’t surprise Lin Tian. Zhang Lingyu knows too, as the Zhang Family is quite renowned in the Netherworld, probably due to dealing with demons and ghosts frequently. Helping capture yin souls lingering in the Human Realm greatly aids the Netherworld.
But Ning Luoxi showed no surprise hearing about the Netherworld, seemingly more inford than Lin Tian. It’s no wonder; she too deals with paranormal events daily, and has known Zhang Lingyu for a while.
"Old Zhang, what’s your plan to handle this?" Ning Luoxi asked, frowning.
"Ignite the Hell Netherfire, burn it completely!" Zhang Heyuan uttered, his tone ambiguous; was it helplessness, sympathy, pity, or indifference?
Demon Exorcists are used to life and death, burning a few people seemingly doesn’t pose a psychological burden.
"No way!" Lin Tian imdiately refused. He’s indifferent to others’ lives but Xiaoyi is still inside.
"Young man, I know it’s cruel too, I don’t wish for this. It’s hundreds of lives. But if not done, chaos will erupt in the Netherworld, possibly breaking the cycle of life and death!" Zhang Heyuan spoke earnestly, very helpless.
Humph! Lin Tian scoffed, "What’s the Netherworld chaos to ? In my view, the Netherworld is no good thing; I only care about my friends’ lives."
Zhang Heyuan glanced at Lin Tian, sneering, "Your little problem, you think I’m unaware? Having once ventured into the Netherworld, you think you understand it fully? Let tell you, what you know is a small fraction."
Hearing Lin Tian ventured into the Netherworld, Ning Luoxi’s eyes widened. She once thought Lin Tian was extrely capable, but now, ’extrely’ is inadequate to describe him, more like defying heaven.
"I don’t need to know everything; I only believe what I see." Lin Tian saw ghosts of the Netherworld fetching Xiao Manxuan’s soul while the little girl’s life span wasn’t up—this wasn’t right.
"Young man, you have a bad temper... I like it." Zhang Heyuan pointed at Lin Tian. Lin Tian thought he’d get angry, but suddenly there’s a turn, Lin Tian’s anger couldn’t ignite.
"But..." Just after Zhang Heyuan praised him, he turned again: "Chaos in the Netherworld sooner or later ans disaster in the Human Realm. Your friends will surely die too.."
"Old Zhang needn’t conclude early. We’ve found a lead on the antidote, poised to develop the dicine anyti, solving all parasites without deaths, avoiding Netherworld chaos." Lin Tian explained.
"Sothing like that?" Zhang Heyuan paused, turning to Ning Luoxi.
Lin Tian waved his hand, saying, "No need to check with Luoxi; she might not have heard yet. The antidote lead surfaced in the last two days, if you don’t believe, go investigate, Director Liang at the hospital, He Jianhua from the Bio Institute, Professor Hu all know."
"Fine, I won’t verify, for you to say surely ans it exists. Then let seal the whole hospital, preventing blood curse’s leak, giving you seven days. If there’s no progress within seven days, I’ll activate the Hell Netherfire and burn all infected." Zhang Heyuan said very solemnly.
"Seven days? Seven days isn’t enough even for clinical trials." Lin Tian frowned.
"You’ve seen the power of blood curse recently. Let show you more; otherwise you wouldn’t grasp its severity." Zhang Heyuan did not explain, instead approaching the greenery before the building.
In the midst of the greenery, there’s an artificial mountain pond. Lin Tian and Ning Luoxi followed closely.
Only to see Zhang Heyuan raise both hands, form seals, handprints changing continuously, then point at the pond water, chanting softly: "Order of Heaven and Earth, lend power, Mysterious Light Illusion, manifest in water..."
The previously still pond water suddenly spread outwards in quick ripples, then flickered, unexpectedly revealing an image!
