Lin Tian was taken aback, not quite getting what "bridal chamber" ant. He repeated the question: "Uh, what do you an?"
"I want you to beco my man..." the woman in the white dress said quite bluntly.
Your grandpa, isn’t that too direct? The first eting, and you capture just to make the Village Chief’s Wife, oh no, Village Chief’s Husband. Isn’t this putting in a tough spot? Should I comply, or should I play hard to get? Lin Tian pondered, feeling quite exasperated.
"Ahem, miss, if you want to be your village man, you ought to give a reason, right? Even a convict gets a last al before execution," Lin Tian said earnestly.
"Heh heh heh..." The woman laughed, looking quite pleased: "Village man, you’re pretty humorous. But, I’m such a magnanimous person, I won’t have you being confused about it."
"Your grandpa, using your hands right from the get-go, yet claiming to be magnanimous. The ancients were right, won and villains are hard to deal with..." Lin Tian muttered under his breath, not believing the woman’s words.
"What did you say!" The woman in the white dress had sharp ears and heard Lin Tian’s muttering, her face suddenly turned cold. Lin Tian thought she might get angry, but to his surprise, her expression soon softened: "You’ll know later, why so anxious."
Geez, and she’s the one angry, while I haven’t even started. Lin Tian was truly speechless about her.
The woman in the white dress walked to the barrier’s side and continued: "Didn’t you want a reason? Let tell you, back then when we were together, you didn’t mind my identity as a Demon Exorcist, and I didn’t mind your identity as a zombie. Love should be sothing that transcends races..."
"Ahem, miss, let interrupt for a bit. This is our first eting; where did this ’back then’ together co from? You’ve mistaken for soone else." Lin Tian hurriedly corrected her statent, thinking there might be sothing wrong with this woman.
"Don’t interrupt !" The woman in the white dress scolded, her tone icy, but then a hint of sadness flashed in her eyes: "You drank Forget Love Water, so naturally you don’t rember the past."
The woman was so persistent, adamant that Lin Tian drank Forget Love Water, making Lin Tian almost doubt if he really did and if there was a past with her.
He shook his head, brushing away these ssy thoughts: "Alright, continue."
"If two people love each other, why can’t they be together? Why do your people and mine oppose us? We can elope and not harm anyone, living in seclusion. But why is everyone still against it!"
As she spoke, the woman in the white dress beca sowhat agitated, a flicker of hatred in her eyes for those who separated and opposed them.
"Is there anything wrong with being in love? Why must they oppose?" The woman repeated, obviously brooding over it.
"Uh, let interrupt again..." Lin Tian felt the pain in his body lessen a bit, not knowing if he was getting numb or if the woman showed rcy: "Why are they opposed, there must be a reason, right?"
In fact, Lin Tian was curious too. Archenemies falling in love, naturally not accepted by either clan, but eloping should be an option, right? It’s not like he’s in their sight. But still, the clans opposed, and that seed excessive.
"To uphold the authority of ancestral teachings, they concocted a ridiculous reason, saying that if a zombie and a Demon Exorcist combined, the offspring would be a Demon Star," the woman in the white dress scoffed, finding the reason laughable.
Lin Tian was montarily stunned, surprised: "Demon Star? What’s a Demon Star?"
The woman brushed a white strand of hair from her ear, her tone full of disdain: "They said zombies and Demon Exorcists have unique bloodlines, naturally archenemies. If the bloodlines combine, the offspring would suffer uncontrollable mutations, cursed by the universe."
"Such descendants would possess incredible power, inheriting the zombie’s immortality, unaffected by Demon Exorcism Skills. And the descendant’s bloodline has no growth limit, able to surpass even a Zombie Ancestor, becoming invincible."
"They claim such a bloodline disrupts the world’s balance, bringing disaster. Do you believe in such a reason?" The woman in the white dress tilted her head slightly towards Lin Tian, her tone calm yet expectant.
"Pfft! Of course I don’t believe it." Lin Tian agreed with the woman for once, also disdainful: "They say Demon Star, Demon Star it is, huh? I claim they’re the Demon Star. What gives them the right to stand on moral high ground and accuse others of being Demon Stars, bringing disaster?"
"Even if it’s truly a Demon Star, so what? They’re just jealous of others’ power. What world balance, what disaster? Cultivation is defying heaven, breaking the cycle of life and death. Ancient Martial Artists defy heaven; let them go to the Ancient Martial World and claim people there disrupt balance, see if they don’t get beaten black and blue."
Lin Tian was very angry and ranted, truly upset, thinking, why should anyone else care about what kind of descendants others have?
Seeing Lin Tian righteously indignant, like an angry rooster, the woman in the white dress was montarily entranced, a dreamy smile on her face.
"If only you felt this way back then, why did you drink Forget Love Water..." The woman sighed softly.
Seeing the woman looking tenderly at him, Lin Tian inwardly cursed, not believing it, could ranting actually win a woman’s heart?
"You’re also a Demon Exorcist, why do they believe in the Demon Star theory, but you don’t?" Lin Tian asked curiously.
"Many say Earth’s civilization is passed down from aliens, do you believe that?" the woman countered.
Lin Tian shook his head: "Of course not, that kind of unreliable legend..."
"There you go..." The woman in the white dress interrupted Lin Tian, disdainfully: "Just an unreliable legend."
"Since we agree, in so sense kindred spirits, how about letting down, we could have so tea inside, talk about love, life goals, wouldn’t it be wonderful?" Lin Tian suggested, hoping she would lower the barrier.
But the woman in the white dress simply smiled faintly: "Are all n this wishy-washy? Why not be straightforward?"
Damn, so direct, I like it, Lin Tian thought, admitting to himself he wasn’t as straightforward.
"The more they oppose, the less I bow to superstition. Aren’t they afraid of a Demon Star born of a Demon Exorcist and a zombie? I’ll show them by being together..." The look in the woman’s eyes was both determined and a little crazy.
"No way, capturing just to make a Demon Star to prove a point? Isn’t that too unjust?" Lin Tian asked the heavens, baffled.
"Justice has long vanished! Otherwise, why were we separated? From today, nobody can separate us, and you can’t escape either!" The woman in the white dress took a step forward, passing through the barrier, standing right in front of Lin Tian.
