Now reading: Chapter 450 450- Eclipse Breaker from Zombie Domination, a Sci-fi novel by Cattopinku.

One week had passed.

The Tech-Savants base had transford during those seven days. Patrols were tighter, defenses were reinforced, and the air humd with the tension of impending action. Everyone had rested. Everyone had prepared. Everyone was ready.

Now, standing at the center of the room, Vesper's tattooed arms were crossed over her chest, her sharp eyes fixed on the data streams flowing across the holographic display.

"Oga has been detected," Vesper said.

The room went silent.

Vesper tapped the control panel. The holographic display zood in on the eastern mountain region, where a cluster of red blips pulsed with irregular intensity.

"She's established a nest in the abandoned mining complex," Vesper continued. "Three peaks east of the Cradle. Defensive periters of mutated creatures—zombies, crawlers, airborne variants. At least two hundred, maybe more." She glanced up. "And she's not hiding anymore."

Fey's blue eyes narrowed. "What do you an, not hiding?"

"I an she wants to be found," Vesper said. "Her forces are moving in patterns designed to be detected. Patrol routes. Signal emissions. Even her own energy signature is... visible now." Her jaw tightened. "She's baiting us."

Nox, leaning against the wall near the door, let out a low chuckle.

"Bold," Nox said. "Stupid, but bold."

"Or confident," Celestia said quietly. Her silver hair caught the holographic light, and her silver-thread skill coiled around her fingers like anxious serpents. "She's had a week to prepare. Just like us."

Zoe stood near the window, her blue eyes fixed on the horizon. Her wounded arm had healed completely, and her body was coiled with restless energy.

"Then we go now," Zoe said. "Before she gets stronger."

Aris Thorne, standing at the holographic projector's control panel, nodded slowly.

"Agreed," Aris said. "But we're not sending everyone."

Veronica's sharp eyes snapped to Aris. "Explain."

"We need a strike team," Aris said. "Fast, efficient, and deadly. Julian will lead. Fey, Zoe, Dori, and Specter will accompany him. The rest of you will remain here to defend the base in case this is a diversion."

Clarissa's hand went to her chest. "A diversion?"

"Oga is intelligent," Aris said. "She knows we're here. She knows our capabilities. If she attacks the base while our strongest fighters are away..." She left the sentence unfinished.

Celestia's silver eyes were calm, but her voice was firm.

"I'll stay," Celestia said. "Veronica, Aya, Beatrix, and I will hold the base. Clarissa, you'll coordinate with Nox's team."

Clarissa nodded, though her expression was strained.

Nox pushed off the wall. "I'm going with Julian."

Aris raised an eyebrow. "Are you?"

"Oga almost killed him once," Nox said, his pale eyes hardening. "I'm not giving her a second chance."

Aris studied him for a long mont, then nodded.

"Fine. But you follow Julian's orders. This is his operation."

Nox's lips curled into a thin smile. "He'd never let forget it if I didn't."

The door to the command room slid open.

Julian walked in.

His dark hair was pulled back, his dark blue eyes clear and focused. His body had fully healed—the regenerative pod had done its work, and the week of rest had restored his strength. But there was sothing different about him now. Sothing sharper.

In his right hand, he carried a sword.

The blade was longer than his previous one—nearly a ter and a half from hilt to tip. The steel was dark, almost black, but veins of blue light ran through it like trapped lightning. The hilt was wrapped in black leather, and set into the poml was a small, pulsing crystal—blue-white, the color of Aethel energy.

Aya stepped forward from the corner of the room, her quiet presence suddenly noticeable. Her hands were clasped in front of her, and her eyes were fixed on the sword with quiet pride.

"Its na is Eclipse Breaker," Aya said softly. "Forged from the mineral cores Julian brought back from Neo. Combined with fragnts from his broken sword and stabilized Aethel energy."

Julian raised the blade, letting the holographic light play across its surface.

"It's lighter than it looks," Julian said. "And sharper."

Aris smiled slightly. "I helped with the Aethel infusion. The blade should channel your lightning and shadow skills more efficiently than any weapon you've used before."

Julian nodded. He turned to face the room.

"Vesper," Julian said. "Give the exact location."

Vesper tapped her console. The holographic display shifted, showing a three-dinsional map of the abandoned mining complex—tunnels, chambers, surface structures, and defensive positions.

"The nest is here," Vesper said, highlighting a central chamber deep within the mountain. "Oga's energy signature is strongest at this location. But there are multiple access points—old mine shafts, ventilation tunnels, and the main entrance."

Julian studied the map for a long mont.

"We go in through the ventilation system," Julian said finally. "Dori's Conceal will get us close. Nox's Dark Matter will let him scout ahead. Once we're inside, we split into two teams."

He pointed to the map.

"Team One—, Zoe, Nox. We go straight for Oga. Team Two—Fey, Dori, Specter. You secure the exits. Make sure no one escapes."

Fey nodded. "Understood."

Zoe's blue eyes glead. "Un."

Julian turned to Aris. "How long until Specter is ready?"

Aris checked her data-slate. "She's already online. I'll send her to the landing pad."

Julian nodded.

"Then let's move."

The landing pad was alive with activity.

A transport helicopter sat on the platform, its rotors already spinning, its engines humming with restrained power. Krieg stood near the cockpit, his scarred face calm, his eyes scanning the periter. Vesper was at a portable console, running final diagnostics.

Specter stood at the edge of the pad.

Her white hair was longer than before, falling past her shoulders. Her eyes—once red, now a deep violet—were fixed on the horizon. Her body was clad in form-fitting black armor, sleek and aerodynamic, with faint blue lines tracing her limbs—the marks of her upgrade.

She turned as Julian approached.

"Julian," Specter said. Her voice was the sa—calm, efficient, devoid of unnecessary emotion. But there was sothing in her violet eyes now. Sothing warr.

"Specter." Julian stopped in front of her. "The upgrade?"

"Complete," Specter said. "My processing speed has increased by forty-three percent. My energy absorption capacity has tripled. And my new combat protocols allow real-ti adaptation to enemy skills." She paused. "I am ready."

Julian studied her for a mont, then nodded.

"Good. You're with Fey's team. Secure the exits."

Specter inclined her head. "Understood."

Nox walked past them, heading toward the helicopter. His pale eyes were calm, but his expression was more serious than usual. He looked back at Julian over his shoulder.

"Are you ready?" Nox asked.

Julian tightened his grip on Eclipse Breaker.

"I'm ready."

Zoe shifted into her beast form, her black fur bristling with anticipation. Fey checked her data-slate one last ti. Dori climbed into the helicopter, her hands steady, her eyes clear.

Fey followed, then Specter. Julian was the last to board.

He stood at the door of the helicopter, looking back at the won who remained behind—Celestia, Veronica, Aya, Beatrix, Clarissa. They stood together on the landing pad, watching him go.

Celestia raised her hand. Her silver-thread skill glinted in the morning light.

"Co back alive," Celestia said.

Julian nodded once.

The helicopter lifted off.

The ground fell away beneath them, the Tech-Savants base shrinking to a speck. The wasteland spread out in all directions—craters, ruins, skeletal trees, and the distant mountains where Oga waited.

Julian sat in the cabin, his dark blue eyes fixed on the horizon.

Eclipse Breaker rested across his knees, its blue veins pulsing softly.

Behind him, his team prepared for battle.

Ahead, Oga waited.

And sowhere in the shadows, Darwin was watching.

The final confrontation was about to begin.
