Roy smoothly walked over to Heather and helped her up.

"Ma'am, are you alright?"

"Thank you, I'm fine! What just happened? Why were you guys fighting?"

**Discovered special character Heather Sawyer. You can absorb the power of fate to obtain rewards!**

Wait, Sawyer?

Sawyer?

Like, the lumberjack?

A thought sparked in Roy's mind, and he guessed at so possibilities, but his expression didn't change. He still wore a sunny smile.

"I was just having a chat with this gentleman, and maybe I said sothing wrong. He suddenly got angry and wanted to hit . I didn't want to fight him, but when I saw him push you over, I couldn't help but step in. I'm really sorry about that!"

People who are good-looking tend to be more believable, and Heather almost imdiately took Roy's words as truth.

Ryan, still on the ground and vomiting, really wanted to curse Roy's entire lineage with every foul word he knew, but he couldn't even speak right now.

"What happened here?"

Just then, Heather's other three companions ca over, having heard the commotion. One of the girls' eyes widened as soon as she saw Roy's face.

"It's nothing, just Ryan suddenly lost it and attacked this gentleman. Sir, I apologize on Ryan's behalf. Will you forgive him?"

"Just call Roy. And I always find it hard to refuse a request from a pretty lady."

Won generally like being complinted, but it also depends on who's doing the complinting. Being praised by a handso guy or a rich man definitely felt different than being praised by an average Joe.

A bright smile blood on Heather's face.

"Then you can call Heather!"

Another girl enthusiastically squeezed in to shake Roy's hand.

"I'm Nikki, nice to et you!"

Ryan, who had been kneeling on the ground vomiting for a while, finally recovered. He saw Heather and Roy chatting and laughing, a joyful smile on Heather's face, and his eyes instantly turned red with anger.

"You.. shithole!"

Not bothering to wipe the ss from his mouth, Ryan roared and charged at Roy again, trying to sneak up from behind.

"Watch out!"

Heather happened to see Ryan's move and couldn't help but warn Roy.

Ryan had thought it through. He'd teach Roy a lesson while he was talking, hoping to improve his image in Heather's eyes.

Too bad Heather was already starting to see things from Roy's perspective. This guy was clearly a lost cause.

Roy had been a quarterback for so many years that he was used to having eyes in the back of his head on the field. So, as soon as Heather spoke, he sensed Ryan's attempted sneak attack.

A spinning back kick sent Ryan flying backwards.

Roy's legwork was actually pretty average, but his physical stats were explosive enough to deal with a punk like Ryan.

Ryan landed with a dizzying thud, and the stomach acid surged up again. He really wanted to hold it down, but then he heard Heather's scolding voice.

"Ryan, Roy already forgave you! Why would you attack him again?"

"I... blegh!"

Ryan vomited again. This ti, Heather looked at Ryan with a hint of disgust, and her other companions also frowned.

Yeah, that's usually how people react to vomit.

"What's going on here?"

Just then, a police car pulled up to the side of the road, and a middle-aged sheriff and a young officer got out.

This middle-aged sheriff was another sheriff in the town of Falls, nad George.

This sheriff had been around longer than Hughes and was already in his fifties.

"Nothing much, Sheriff George. Just playing a ga with so new friends!"

Sheriff George glanced at the strangers standing with Roy and the foreigner vomiting on the ground. He could pretty much guess what had happened.

But Sheriff George, being a local Texan, also had a strong dislike for foreigner. Plus, he had a good relationship with Roy, so he decided to pretend nothing had happened.

"Is that so? Well, have fun!"

Sheriff George turned to leave, but Ryan wasn't having it.

"Wait a minute, officer! This guy just hit ! Aren't you going to do anything about it?"

George turned back and looked at Ryan with distaste.

"Sorry, I didn't see anything. All I saw was you making a ss on the ground."

Ryan really wanted to swear, but seeing George's hand resting on his gun holster, he imdiately backed down, not wanting to give the officer an excuse to empty his magazine.

He could only mutter under his breath, "Damn southerner!"

George was about to leave when Roy suddenly rembered Heather's purpose for being here, so he called out to him.

"Sheriff George, do you know Sawyer Farm?"

George turned back, frowning at Roy.

"Why are you asking?"

"Well, this lady, Heather, is looking for Sawyer Farm."

George sized up Heather carefully, his brow furrowed as he seed to be thinking sothing over. It made Heather feel a little uncomfortable.

After a mont, George answered Roy.

"Sawyer Farm is a na from a long ti ago. We all call it Devil's Farm now."

Roy suddenly understood. So the na of the farm had changed.

In the original owner's mories, there was indeed a small, abandoned farm south of Falls.

Locals called it Devil's Farm, and it was said that devils lived there.

Every child in Falls was told by their parents not to go near it, or the devils would take them away.

"Oh, that's where it is! I know now!"

George hesitated for a mont, then spoke to Roy.

"Roy, that farm is dangerous. If you don't have any business there, don't stay there too long."

"I understand, Sheriff George. Thank you!"

George and his deputy drove away.

Roy shrugged at Heather.

"See? I told you I was good friends with the police. I'll take you to that Sawyer Farm, I an, Devil's Farm."

Heather looked at Roy gratefully.

"Thank you, Roy!"

"Co on, get in my car."

Roy pulled Heather towards his beat-up yellow Chevrolet Camaro. Heather's female friend, Nikki, seed like she wanted to get in too, but her male companion pulled her back.

Ryan got into the van, but he had so vomit on him, which made his companions feel disgusted.

"Quick, open the windows and air it out!"

Ryan looked at the yellow sports car in front of them, seeing Roy and Heather flirting, and his teeth ground together.

"Damn southerner!"

The man driving couldn't help but mutter.

"Ryan, I told you before, you need to keep a low profile when you're in Texas. People here have short tempers."

"F***! Kenny, is this my fault? That guy called a loser!"

The man nad Kenny was speechless for a mont.

"Listen to , Ryan. In Texas, that word is practically the politest way to insult soone."

Ryan's heart was filled with hatred, and he didn't want to listen to Kenny's advice at all.

"I'm definitely going to get my revenge!"

"That guy's a local. We don't need to ss with him!" another man advised.

"Kenny's right. We really should keep a low profile. Texans are very xenophobic," added another.

Ryan stopped talking, but the look in his eyes showed that he hadn't given up.
