Moon Fiend leaned against the eaves of a building in the deepest part of the Stall District. He wasn't carrying his signature black blade, but those who knew him could still recognize his identity from his attire.
[Moon Fiend], one of the fastest-rising of the East Sector's Four Fiends. He was widely believed to be a terrifying character who actively hunted other Reincarnators in the real world.
To successfully hunt Reincarnators in the real world, one had to et several conditions. First, you had to be exceptionally strong. Second, you needed the backing of a powerful faction to clean up your sses and keep your information from being exposed to the governnt. Third, you needed a terrifying intelligence network to find your targets in the first place. Any one of these was difficult to achieve, let alone all three.
Moon Fiend was already considered a [Strong - Upper] tier Reincarnator, and it was widely believed that as a swordsman, his destructive power was already approaching the [Cataclysm] tier. In the East Sector, his reputation was even greater than that of other elites like [Kai]. "Moon Fiend" was a nickna given to him by other Reincarnators, a special title for a powerhouse who was all but guaranteed to one day reach the [Titled] rank.
Of course, the Four Fiends had been in disarray recently. [Great Fiend] and [Heart Fiend] had refused a recruitnt offer from a certain [Peerless] Reincarnator and were now being hunted. The appearance of Moon Fiend in the Stall District made many of the info-brokers excited. He watched as his target, instead of hiding as he should have, stood brazenly in the center of the bazaar. He was disappointed. He turned and vanished.
Kaito, from the corner of his eye, saw the man in the green robe leave. He was very aware of the gazes on him. [White Mask], just before she had vanished, had been staring at that exact man. Even if he hadn't shown any killing intent, Kaito knew he was not a simple character.
He calmly let the info-brokers transmit his information, then walked through the stalls until he found the man whose codena was "Lee Handso."
Ever since he had used Vincent's rum bottle to divine his real-world location, Kaito had been reflecting on his own operational security. An item that he had possessed for a long ti and then traded away... there was currently only one. The [Dual Wielding Proficiency Scroll] he had traded to "Lee Handso." It was a loose end.
"Yo! We et again, my fellow Terror Infinity fan!"

"That scroll? I used it right away! Look!" He materialized two revolvers and began spinning them with a flourish, proving he had indeed learned the proficiency and had successfully acquired the [Gunslinger] class.
Kaito's expression was unreadable. He just stared.
"Lee Handso. You know, you also traded a few things…" Kaito said, his voice light.
Lee's face went pale. It was true. He hadn't done anything special to those high-explosive grenades. It was possible they could be traced. Although they hadn't been in his possession for long, and the [Information] on them would be weak, it wasn't a zero-percent chance. Damn it, why did I have to get involved with this guy?
Lee's expression was stiff, but he forced a smile and repeatedly assured Kaito that he had no ill intentions.

If he kept getting entangled in these strange incidents, he would eventually be discovered. And his [Karma Reincarnator] status practically demanded that he constantly engage in slaughter for the highest possible profit.
He had made his decision.
Kaito arrived at the entrance to the white jade staircase. The two giant stone lions slowly awakened and bowed their heads to sniff him.
"A remarkable scent! An excellent tribute!"
The lions had apparently slled the A-rank Singularity in his possession, and their attitude was even more respectful than before. This, too, was seen by the intel brokers who had followed Kaito, and it confird his terrifying status.
Only the [Black Butler] frowned. He had worked with "rcenary Tao" once before. Based on the questions he'd asked, he should have been a complete newcor. A newcor who already has an A-rank Singularity? His mind began to spin. A rookie rising faster than even Moon Fiend… this information is... very valuable.
He knew from experience that you couldn't just sell info on a monster like this. That would only get you killed. But he could act as a... middleman. He could build a connection, make himself valuable. It was safer, and in the long run, more profitable. The [Black Butler] adjusted his monocle and waited outside the sanctum.
Kaito, anwhile, had once again arrived in the presence of the floating, giant Goddess.
"'Giant Goddess?' I don't like that na."
She was still reading his thoughts, and, as usual, she was displeased by them. She frowned, but then her expression softened, and she floated down.
"Fine. Given the quality of the Singularity you're carrying, I will forgive your rudeness."
Although ti was frozen here, Kaito didn't want to waste it. He looked at her perfect, illusory face. "Lady Goddess. I want to know if the erosion I'm suffering can be removed."

The Goddess's giant, ruby-red eyes reflected Kaito's true form—a body entwined with black, ghostly markings, his very being flooded by the Underworld.
