A figure was sent flying backward, carving a trench dozens of ters long in the concrete ground.
Butcher shook his head, dazed. Holander flew back out of the building. Butcher's current abilities, while similar to Holander's, were ultimately inferior. He couldn't fly, and his strength and constitution were also slightly weaker. This was clear from the original story, where Butcher and the others couldn't even hold Holander down long enough for Soldier Boy to charge his attack.
BZZZZT!
Red heat-vision lanced down from the sky. Holander had no sense of the bigger picture; he wasn't trying to restore order. He just wanted to vent his violent rage. A line of bodyguards standing in front of Ross was cleanly bisected.
WHOOSH! A-Train instantly grabbed Ross and vanished.
Holander grew even more furious. He descended, striking down Queen Maeve who was on her way to help Kalpa, and the two of them were instantly locked in close combat. Both Maeve and Holander were extrely powerful physical types. Maeve was one of the few Supes who wouldn't be punched clean through by Holander in a fistfight.
During their brief stalemate, Butcher climbed back to his feet and charged Holander again. At the sa ti, he yelled over his shoulder, "Hughie! Go help the Asian!"
Butcher was the type to do anything to achieve his goals. As long as he could kill Holander, he would sacrifice anything. He didn't care about Hughie's hatred for Kalpa; all he cared about was that Kalpa could help him kill Holander.
Hughie, still in the car, heard Butcher's shout. He looked at Annie, who was still in a daze beside him, and his expression was torn. He didn't want to save Kalpa. And… A-Train, the man who had killed his ex-girlfriend, was now an "ally." This whole situation was tearing him apart. He felt like he was just a tool in Butcher's hands.
At that mont, Kalpa's limbs were broken and his jaw was shattered. Kaito wanted to eliminate any possibility of him committing suicide. Kalpa also understood Kaito's intentions. The golden light from the chakras on his forehead and abdon began to glow.
Kaito ignored it. He raised his hands and brought them down like a rain of blows. Kalpa's forehead was pierced with pain, and that terrifying feeling of near-death returned. He had no other choice. With a thought, his head began to swell rapidly.
Kaito, using his Transparent World, saw clearly that there was no "bomb" inside his body, but the situation still made him instantly flip away.
BOOM!
Kalpa's body exploded. Kaito guessed that, because of his special mind-transfer ability, he had specifically enhanced himself with so kind of self-destruct power—whether it was a superpower, magic, or a curse—that would allow him to forcibly transfer his consciousness upon suicide.
But this fight isn't over just because you escaped…
Kaito instantly shot to his feet, his form a flickering phantom.
A-Train had just returned to the main fight, only to see Queen Maeve get knocked down by a punch from behind from the man calling himself rcenary Tao.
Maeve frowned, forcibly snapping her own dislocated neck back into place. She stared at Kaito, her eyes filled with killing intent.
"You are far too dangerous."
She wasn't talking about his fighting style, which always aid for vital points. She was talking about his entire way of operating. In her eyes, Kaito was even more dangerous than Holander.
She exchanged a look with A-Train. They had made a decision. She would stay behind to kill or at least contain Kaito. This was part of their deal with Kalpa.
A-Train instantly vanished. The next mont, Holander was sent staggering from a powerful impact, and at the sa ti, a massive fireball exploded against his body. Golden Boy, now completely wreathed in flas, flew high into the air, raining down high-temperature, high-explosive fireballs. His destructive power was far greater than Maeve's or A-Train's.
Holander, seeing his hero costu being burned away, was filled with rage. He sideswiped A-Train, sent Butcher flying with a blast of heat-vision, and then kicked off the ground, rocketing into the sky. He grabbed Golden Boy and flew straight up, into the upper atmosphere.
"Not good!" A-Train realized what was happening, but aerial combat was Holander's domain. No one could interfere.
On the ground, Queen Maeve threw a punch. Kaito, wanting to test her strength, didn't dodge. He threw a punch of his own.
BAM!
The terrifying force exploded between them in a shockwave. Kaito felt an imnse power hit him. He instantly spun his body, rotating several dozen tis, his perfect use of Shaorii allowing him to dislocate and then reset his own arm in an instant. He was knocked back several ters, but he was uninjured.
Queen Maeve's punch was indeed stronger than his own base form, but not by much. She hadn't broken the strength limit-break; she was just close to it.
Golden ripples of Hamon swirled around Kaito's arm, and the ruptured blood vessels and muscles began to rapidly heal. Maeve, who had just slightly shaken out her arm, was clearly unhard. Her constitution was even stronger than her strength.
Maeve was also frowning. This "rcenary Tao" was stronger than she'd thought. The next mont, she saw him lift his left foot high. The ground bood. Her pupils contracted. The air in front of her had already been torn apart.
So fast!

His hands vanished, becoming a phantom-like blur as they slapped both sides of her temples. Maeve felt a massive ringing in her ears and a flash of bright light that instantly stole her senses.
Kaito landed smoothly behind her, casually turned, and coiled his right arm.
A martial artist, when facing an unskilled opponent with similar stats, could achieve an absolute slaughter. "Martial Arts" was the technique of pushing one's body to its limit, and even beyond.
Haaa…
Kaito exhaled a white, misty breath. His right arm was tensed like a great spear. The next mont, the spear was unleashed, instantly piercing Queen Maeve's chest.
[Devil Lance]!
SPLAT!
Maeve's face contorted in agony. But in that mont, instead of falling, she grabbed Kaito's shoulders with both hands, her grip like a vise. Her eyes were filled with a grim resolve.
"KILL HIM!" she scread.
