After a few seconds of silence, the third person to introduce herself was Nephis.
Even while rowing the boat through the dark waters, she managed to speak in her usual calm tone.
"My na is Nephis. I'm the daughter of Broken Sword and Smile of Heaven. I'm also one of the last two descendants of the Immortal Fla Clan."
The boat beca a little quieter after those words.
After a brief pause, Nephis continued.
"My Aspect allows to burn my enemies and heal my allies. I also possess two Attributes that make more connected to the Dream Realm."
Sunny and Elysia were both surprised.
Unlike Cassie, who could see people's runes, or Senrix, who had known Nephis his entire life, they had never actually learned much about her.
Nephis rarely spoke about herself.
She rarely explained anything.
Most of the ti, she simply acted.
Then she spoke again.
"My Flaw is what most of you have probably already guessed. Whenever I use my Aspect, I feel intense burning pain."
This ti, nobody looked particularly shocked.
They had all seen her wince before.
Every ti she healed soone.
Every ti she unleashed her flas.
Every ti she pushed herself in battle.
Looking back, the signs had always been obvious.
They were also not surprised that Nephis didn't say anything about her First Nightmare.
That was her right.
Everyone had secrets.
Besides, she had already revealed her Flaw.
Cassie and Elysia hadn't revealed theirs either.
Well...
Cassie's was fairly obvious.
After Nephis finished speaking, she fell silent once more and continued rowing as if nothing had happened.
Soon, the attention of everyone on the boat shifted toward the two remaining people.
Sunny and Senrix.
Senrix sighed.
"My na is Senrix. Twin brother of Nephis. The only son of Broken Sword and Smile of Heaven. One of the last two descendants of the Immortal Fla Clan."
After taking a few breaths, he continued.
"Since I don't really have anything interesting to reveal about my runes aside from my Flaw, which slowly causes to lose consciousness whenever I overuse my Aspect, I'll just talk about my First Nightmare."
The others imdiately beca interested.
Even Nephis glanced at him briefly.
"I was a traveler climbing a very tall mountain. Then a horde of Nightmare Creatures suddenly appeared and started rushing toward the mountain. I ended up getting chased and eventually had no choice but to fight them alone."
He paused.
"There were mostly Dormant Monsters. Maybe an Awakened Demon or sothing like that. There was also an Awakened Terror."
The boat beca silent.
Senrix continued casually.
"Honestly, it was so weak that I was confused about why it was even called a Terror."
The jaws of Sunny, Cassie, and Elysia nearly dropped.
For several seconds, nobody spoke.
Then Sunny exploded.
"ARE YOU SERIOUS?!"
His voice echoed across the sea.
"Now you're just cheating! How the hell do you kill an Awakened Terror as a Sleeper?!"
Before anyone else could react—
SMACK!
Nephis stood up slightly and hit Sunny on the back of the head.
"Ow!"
Sunny imdiately grabbed his head.
That hurt.
A lot.
Nephis sat back down.
"Lower your voice, Sunny."
Then she calmly resud rowing.
Sunny rubbed the back of his head while glaring at her.
Even though Nephis was nowhere near as physically powerful as Senrix, she was still probably the second strongest person in the cohort physically.
Her hits were not pleasant.
"It's probably because the Terror was already heavily injured."
Cassie offered.
"If we're going by what Senrix said, it must have been weakened beforehand."
Elysia nodded imdiately.
"That sounds more believable."
Senrix simply shrugged.
He wasn't going to argue.
Whether they believed him or not didn't really matter.
Then his crimson eyes shifted toward Sunny.
"Your turn."
Sunny froze.
For a mont, he remained silent.
His thoughts began racing.
'Can I tell them now?'
He looked around the boat.
Cassie.
Nephis.
Senrix.
Elysia.
Weeks ago, he wouldn't have considered it.
Months ago, he would have laughed at the idea.
But now...
They had crossed the Forgotten Shore together.
They had survived countless battles together.
They had nearly died together.
More than once.
'I trust them.'
The thought surprised him.
But it was true.
'I trust them now.'
After a mont, Sunny finally spoke.
"Can all of you say sothing for ?"
The others looked confused.
"What?" Elysia asked.
Sunny hesitated.
Then sighed.
"Just say 'Solace of Stars.'"
The confusion only grew.
Still, they listened.
In unison, the four of them spoke.
"Solace of Stars."
Imdiately, the Spell reacted.
A familiar voice echoed through their minds.
[You have beco the companion of the Divine Shadow.]
The four of them blinked.
Then another set of runes appeared.
Sunny's runes.
The boat imdiately beca silent.
Everyone stared.
Especially after reading one specific line.
Aspect Rank: [Divine]
A long silence followed.
Then Cassie was the first to speak.
"Wait..."
She sounded genuinely stunned.
"You have a Divine Aspect?"
Sunny awkwardly scratched the back of his head.
"Yeah."
The silence sohow beca even heavier.
Then everything exploded.
Questions imdiately began flying from every direction.
"So how did you unlock your Aspect Legacy?"
Sunny shrugged.
"I honestly don't know. I had a dream about a dancing slave, rembered so of Senrix's lessons, and then suddenly I had an Aspect Legacy."
The others stared.
That answer sohow created even more questions.
Then Elysia imdiately asked another.
"How did you obtain the Shadow God's lineage?"
Sunny answered honestly.
"I sacrificed myself at a temple during my First Nightmare."
Nobody could tell whether that answer was ridiculous or impressive.
Then ca another question.
"What does your True Na an?"
Sunny shrugged again.
"I don't know."
The others groaned.
He quickly continued.
"I do know it can be translated as Star of Peace or Dead Stars."
That only made things more confusing.
Half an hour passed like that.
Question after question.
Answer after answer.
At one point Elysia looked at his Innate Ability and imdiately complained.
"Why is your Innate Ability so ridiculously broken while mine is basically useless?"
Sunny looked at her.
Then looked at her runes.
Then looked back at her.
"Ask yourself that."
Elysia almost threw sothing at him.
anwhile, Sunny finally got the chance to inspect everyone else's runes.
The first thing that shocked him was Senrix.
Class: Monster.
Sunny stared at that line for several seconds.
When questioned about it, Senrix simply explained that it was one of the advantages of having a Divine Aspect.
That answer sohow raised even more questions.
Then there was Cassie.
Sunny frowned while reading her runes.
Especially one Attribute.
Blood Weave.
The na felt strangely familiar.
Weaver.
Forbidden lineage.
For so reason, every ti he looked at those words, he felt an odd sense of discomfort.
As though he had forgotten sothing incredibly important.
Sothing he should have rembered.
But no matter how hard he tried, nothing ca to mind.
Then there was Elysia.
Her runes made even less sense.
Especially two Attributes.
Angel.
And Ego.
For so reason, those two words alone made him feel as if there was far more hidden beneath the surface.
Finally, he looked at Nephis's runes.
Compared to everyone else, hers were surprisingly straightforward.
Well...
As straightforward as a Divine Aspect could be.
Eventually, the conversation died down.
The questions stopped.
The answers stopped.
The boat continued sailing across the endless sea.
For a while, nobody spoke.
Sunny leaned back and looked up at the dark sky above.
The lantern's golden light illuminated the boat.
The ocean stretched endlessly around them.
And for the first ti in a very long ti, Sunny felt strangely peaceful.
He had finally revealed his True Na.
He had finally revealed his Innate Ability.
He had finally revealed one of his biggest secrets.
And sohow...
Nothing had changed.
Nobody feared him.
Nobody abandoned him.
Nobody treated him differently.
A small smile appeared on his face.
Maybe that was because, sowhere along the way, these people had beco more than just traveling companions.
More than allies.
More than a cohort.
For the first ti in his life, Sunny felt like he had found people he could truly trust.
For the first ti in his life, he felt like he had found a family.
