the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart Chapter 1031: A Simple Wedding
Crystal Landon looked at him nervously. The man stood there, even though the lights were on inside, a strange dimness seed to envelop Richard Shaw.
The man was like a black hole, swallowing everything around him, exuding a faint sense of danger.
Richard Shaw frowned slightly and said steadily and calmly, "There is no emotional foundation between us. If we marry, I can only give you the position of Major General’s wife, offer you all the honor I possess, everything of the Shaw Family, but I can’t give you love. So, are you still willing to marry ?"
The man looked directly into her eyes the whole ti he spoke, his gaze deep, his pupils slightly tea-colored, sowhat unfathomable.
Crystal Landon’s big black eyes slightly opened, stunned for a mont, then asked, "Did grandmother ask you to marry ?"
Richard Shaw responded indifferently, feeling there were so things that needed to be clarified with her. He could give her everything, except for love.
"You don’t like ?" She lifted her pretty little face and directly asked.
"I’ve always seen you as a sister," the man said in a deep voice.
Crystal Landon’s heart felt tight; she’d always thought Richard Shaw was a blockhead, but the man naturally knew how to speak words that cut like knives.
To marry or not? She was sowhat struggling; she’d liked Richard Shaw since she was young, fascinated by everything about this man. He clearly wasn’t much older than her, yet felt as steady as a mountain, as deep as the sea, neither cold nor warm toward her. She just liked him this way.
"Consider it well. If you choose not to marry, I’ll tell grandmother, and you can be recognized as her granddaughter, becoming part of the Shaw Family." Richard Shaw spoke in a low voice. Seeing her little face filled with hesitation, he turned to leave, but before reaching the door, his wrist was gripped by her soft, white hand, eting the pretty little face of the girl.
"I’ll marry." Crystal Landon looked up and said firmly and simply, "But let’s agree beforehand, any divorce must be initiated by ."
"Alright." The man’s gaze deepened. He handed her the keys to the private vault and said, "These are the keys to the private vault. After I beca an adult, grandmother handed them to , and now I give them to you. All the savings and heritage of three generations of the Shaw Family are here. You can use them freely. From now on, you’ll be Mrs. Shaw, sharing honor and disgrace with the family. Understand?"
Crystal Landon tightly clenched the keys in her hand, nodding slightly. She was mature for her age, not a delicate flower in a greenhouse over these years, aware of what marrying into the Shaw Family ant.
She liked the old lady and Richard Shaw. They were her closest people. Even if Richard Shaw didn’t like her now, it didn’t an he never would.
Life is long.
"I’m going to the Military District this ti, and I won’t return to the Imperial City until a year later. If you encounter anything you don’t understand or can’t resolve, you can find grandmother." Richard Shaw said, looking at her deeply. "If one day you can’t bear such a dull marriage or et soone you like and want a divorce, just tell ."
"So when will we get married, where will we live after marriage, will we still live at the Shaw Mansion? Will there be a wedding?" Crystal Landon asked, reaching out to hold him as he was about to leave.
Richard Shaw paused for a mont and said, "Because ti is tight, there will be no wedding. You’ll stay with grandmother at the Shaw Mansion. We can discuss the rest when I return to the Imperial City."
So everything would be simple.
Crystal Landon froze slightly, thinking of the gratitude she owed to the Shaw Family. Marriage was her choice; Richard Shaw didn’t like her at all. The two of them didn’t even have ti to develop feelings, so naturally, there would be none of the others’ so-called wedding warmth.
She paused and said, "Okay."
