Now reading: Chapter 1129: He Also Wants to Sleep with His Wife from the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart, a Romance novel by Smoky and desolate.

Leah carefully questioned Casimir Shaw, learning that the father and son had been living in a small wooden hut they built themselves, relying on manual labor for their food and clothing, leading a life almost completely isolated from the world, her heart filled with mixed emotions.

During her years recovering in the Golden Triangle, she was also isolated from the world and inexplicably felt her distance with this father and son shorten considerably.

She had a natural affinity for this child; the child’s father, too, was paralyzed and appeared foolish and harmless. She and Griffith Squire lacked nothing of money, so since there was a connection, she decided to care for this father and son.

Over the past few years, her personality had beco increasingly carefree and unrestrained, not at all bothered by taking in a pair of father and son, and instead, she felt a bit happy.

Both she and Griffith Squire intended to spend their lives in solitude. Over the years, Griffith felt burdened by his past deeds and considered a lifeti of companionship with his sister the greatest blessing, never hoping for offspring. This is why, despite his fondness for Delphine, he let her be with Ignatius Leclair.

Leah, on the other hand, had no interest in n whatsoever. If Delphine appeared cold on the outside but passionate inside, Leah was the opposite. Only a few people had entered her heart in recent years.

In the days she spent in Nanyang, she couldn’t go out to work like an ordinary person, nor did she have a career like Delphine. Now that she had taken in such an impossibly poor father and son, Leah felt her days were no longer just about recuperating aimlessly.

"You will live on the first floor, and I will have furniture sent over soon." Leah looked at the silent, reticent man who hadn’t spoken since entering. In fact, since eting him, the man seed to have said only one or two sentences?

"Mr. Shaw, you and Casimir will live here from now on and help look after the house. A maid will co daily, so you don’t need to handle anything. I’ll pay you a monthly salary of ten thousand, hmm?" Leah tried to communicate with the man before her.

"No money needed, I can cook in exchange for lodging." The man finally spoke, his deep voice almost muffled. He glanced at Leah’s increasingly vibrant face, then turned away, his body tense.

"Then five thousand for the salary. Nanyang isn’t your mountain; the cost of living is high. Even if you don’t spend, Casimir will need money." Leah’s black-and-white, inviting eyes narrowed. This man seed indeed rigid and inflexible, for such a cute child to follow him would be an injustice.

"No money." The man’s handso face slightly darkened; he had money.

Seeing his stern face, sitting up straight in a wheelchair with clothes that were crude but clean, Leah realized this was a proud and strong man. Understanding how so people with disabilities strive to prove themselves to others more and need societal recognition, she stopped insisting. Love it or leave it.

Soon, furniture and groceries were delivered. Leah selected the most expensive and best ones, aligning with her taste: a minimalist Japanese style, which seed to suit the man. After all, through her life, she had never t a man wearing burlap clothing.

"Right, if you need anything, just call, no need to pay." Leah gave him the house’s codes, contact cards for daily necessities, and smiled with squinted eyes, saying, "From now on, you’re the steward, just make sure the als are delicious, nothing else I ask for."

"Hmm." The man responded deeply, knowing that Griffith Squire had money and that the Squire siblings had all essentials provided for.

Upon eting Leah, he could roughly guess that the hospital warehouse explosion back then had been orchestrated with inside and outside help from Griffith Squire and Eamon Turner to rescue Leah. Now learning she was alive, years of pent-up resentnt dissipated; he held no grudge against Griffith, just angered he was kept in the dark for six years.

Inwardly, the man felt slightly bitter; luckily, it was only six years, not sixty, or eternity.

But due to the explosion back then, Leah had suffered permanent damage. Hearing she was often sickly and spent most of her year recuperating, Richard Shaw felt a pang in his heart, determined to help her regain her health.

After arranging everything, Leah received a call from Delphine, grabbed her purse, and left.

As soon as Leah left, Shuangzi, who had been keeping watch outside the small villa, quickly delivered Major General and little master’s luggage. Shuangzi was still recovering from the shock that madam had survived.

"Delay the return to the Imperial City. Unless it’s urgent, don’t show up." Richard Shaw instructed heavily.

"Major General, living permanently in Nanyang?" Shuangzi was dumbfounded. What about the matters at the Imperial City Military District?

"Hmm, Madam’s matters have not yet been clarified. For now, do not inform the old lady. Leave Nanyang tonight, creating the illusion of my departure." Richard Shaw instructed in a low voice.

"Major General, if we all leave, what about you? I can make a trip to the Imperial City and then return." Shuangzi was anxious. The Major General had never retreated during the toughest tis—now, how could he leave? Griffith Squire would be furious enough to shoot once he knew the Major General was staying at Madam’s place.

"No need. Griffith Squire’s n know you. Return and await further instructions." Richard Shaw’s voice deepened, his handso face tense. Nanyang was Ignatius Leclair’s territory, and now, posing as a widower from the mountains with his son, Griffith only needed to be tied up so he couldn’t pay them any mind.

Moreover, Griffith was guilty conscious of his deeds, making it unlikely he would contact Leah to avoid attention. Staying with Leah was the least suspicious move.

"All Golden Triangle operatives, recall them. Stop investigating the Squire siblings’ matters." Richard Shaw instructed mildly. Knowing Griffith Squire was indeed a Cox descendant, he naturally wouldn’t act against the Golden Triangle. Now he rather needed to help conceal the siblings’ identity.

Shuangzi nodded and left, accepting the orders.

"Old Shaw," Casimir Shaw dragged the suitcase into the room sowhat troubled, poking his little head around and said, "I want to sleep with Mommy. Even at my age, I’ve never once slept with Mommy."

He also wished to sleep with his wife! Richard Shaw snorted coldly, beckoning Casimir over, casually saying, "Your mommy has forgotten many things, so none of Imperial City’s matters are to be ntioned, including Shaw Mansion and your great-grandmother. Only the matters concerning the small wood cabin should be ntioned, understood?"

"Understood." Casimir Shaw saluted crisply, tugging on Richard’s sleeve, with bright eyes asking, "So from now on, we’re living with Mommy in Nanyang?"

"Hmm." Richard Shaw nodded. His current status could not be revealed, nor his past ntioned; he would first nurture feelings with Leah. He cherished everything before him; as long as he could see her, talk to her, he was happy. What the future held, they would deal with it later.
