Leah didn’t pay much attention when Griffith was so cautious. Her skills were such that unless faced with fully ard special agents, she wouldn’t suffer.

A steady knock sounded, and a man pushed the door open, revealing his cold, hard profile in the twilight of a spring day, and asked in a deep voice, "Awake?"

Leah: ??

Leah was a bit confused, still holding the phone without hanging up. Griffith had just told her to keep a distance from Richard, yet here was Richard on the phone?

Griffith gritted his teeth on the other end and said, "Leah Squire, are you ignoring everything I say?"

"I’m hanging up," Leah calmly hung up the phone, regardless of how Griffith might react, got up and sighed, "Why didn’t you say you were coming over?"

They, along with Ignatius Leclair, knew the password to the small villa, so they ca and went freely.

"I called your phone, but you didn’t answer, so I guessed you were sleeping." Seeing her in pajamas, with sleep marks still showing on her fresh, pure little face, Richard felt his heart soften a bit. He’d developed a condition where he needed to see Leah every day.

Without seeing her, he felt lifeless.

"What do you want for dinner?" Richard had specifically co over to make her dinner.

"I’m not picky, whatever you make, I’ll eat." Leah picked up the phone and dialed back the missed calls one by one.

The man wasn’t in a hurry, holding her hand, gently squeezing her soft, boneless fingers, seemingly addicted to the touch.

Leah was sowhat speechless at his childish behavior, but the sense of alienation faded a lot. This man never had a temper around her, and most of the ti he was as taciturn as an overgrown child; perhaps the explosion was an accident and had nothing to do with him.

Leah let him play with her soft fingers, and then she called Hawk Howard and Calliope Shaw, and upon learning there was nothing urgent, hung up.

Only after she finished her calls did Richard embrace her, whispering hoarsely in her ear, "You’ve been cold to today, do you think I’m too dull and boring?"

The man had recently been feeling restless and severely lacking in self-confidence.

Leah was very mature and independent, he wasn’t afraid to spoil her, he just feared her indifference toward him. In this relationship, perhaps from the start, he was too aloof, too cold, and later in front of her, like repaying a debt, he had no temper.

A major figure in the Military District, cold-blooded and unfeeling, yet tender only in front of her.

"How co you have so little confidence?" Leah squinted, smiling, "Do you know how many won in Imperial City want to marry you?"

Saying that, she reached out and touched his head.

The man, taller than her by half a head, fell into a strange silence when touched by her soft hands, his tea-colored eyes deep as he said, "I only want you to marry ."

The topic was sowhat dangerous, Leah instinctively rubbed her hungry stomach and laughed, "Go make dinner, Major General, I’m starving."

"As you command, Major General’s wife." The man chuckled pleasantly, led her by the hand downstairs to make dinner.

That night, Leah couldn’t sleep, tossing and turning until dawn, still awake, fearing that falling asleep would bring nightmares, only to wake up and rember nothing. In the morning, she called Dr. Liao.

"Dr. Liao, it’s Leah Squire. Could you perform a hypnosis test on ? I’ve started experiencing insomnia. I can cover high private fees." She explained her purpose concisely.

Her personality was rather fiery and impatient, which wasn’t seen as negative since Griffith shared the sa trait.

Dr. Liao replied kindly, "Miss Squire, I never conduct private financial transactions with patients, but if your condition is severe, I can make an exception and work overti to test you. I finish work at eight tonight, you can co directly to the hospital then."

Leah relaxed upon hearing this, thanked him, and then called Cornelius Turner, asking him to accompany her to the hospital that evening.

She’d only t Dr. Liao once, and since hypnosis usually delves into the deepest parts of one’s psyche, she felt reassured bringing Cornelius.

As for Richard, she’d need a good excuse to divert him. Leah instinctively didn’t want him to know; ever since they got together, Richard hadn’t suggested taking her for treatnt to recover her mory.

Leah pondered for a mont, then her eyes lit up as she texted Richard: "I’m going to Language University this afternoon to fetch Delphine’s materials, and then I’ll have dinner with Professor Lu. You don’t need to co over and cook for tonight."

She concluded her ssage with an emoticon.

The man was in a eting and didn’t bring his phone with him. When he ca out and saw the ssage, his gaze deepened, and he called Saku over, asking, "Did you have people stationed outside the villa continuously?"

"Yes, yesterday Miss Leah went to the hospital and then returned, and Cornelius co to Imperial City; we also have personnel arranged outside the villa," Saku promptly reported the itinerary. In fact, Leah’s hospital visit had been reported yesterday, detailing which departnt she visited and which doctor she saw, even Dr. Liao had been investigated. But seeing the Major General still seed worried, Saku hesitated, asking, "Should we assign soone to follow Miss Leah?"

Richard nodded, squinting slightly, thoughtfully asking, "Is Griffith still in Brocade City?"

Strange to send his right-hand man to Imperial City.

"He returned to Nanyang last night," Saku answered.

"Have we looked into Dr. Liao’s background?"

"His record is impeccable, at least on the surface it appears flawless. I’ve placed Dr. Liao’s information under the files on the desk. If a thorough investigation is needed, it’ll take one or two days," Saku replied.

Richard nodded, then let him go, picked up his phone and replied to Leah’s ssage: "After dinner, I’ll co pick you up."

The man looked at her smiley face emoji, tea-colored eyes lowered, his expression revealing a bit of sharp indifference. Visiting the psychiatry departnt, was she seeking treatnt for amnesia? It seed he needed to contact Dr. Liao.

Privately, Richard didn’t want her to regain her mories; their current situation was quite good.

The man retrieved the material from under the files, carefully reviewing it—Dr. Liao was a legendary figure in neuropsychiatry, an orphan adopted by an Arican couple as a child, brought to the United States and constantly excelled, later practicing dicine. At a young age, he achieved nurous patents, with hypnotic treatnt for neurological disorders being his most renowned achievent.

Hypnosis? The man’s expression darkened; he harbored little fondness for this term. In the past, Old Ignatius had caused considerable trouble due to hypnosis and mory reconstruction. Richard privately felt that Ignatius’s rocky relationship with Delphine Carter was all hypnosis’s fault. If Leah also underwent hypnosis, what if so nonsensical suggestions were implanted?

Richard suddenly stood up, left the office, and said to Saku, "To the hospital."

He wanted to et Dr. Liao in person.
